I don't think Anette should try to sing classical style! You know people would say it looked like she was trying to be Tarja, and she never wanted to be Tarja. I can't believe tarja left in 2005..... @Zavedi234 Tuomas is a borderline genius, indeed. Nightiwsh is 99% him - as far as songwriting and arrangements, and even lyrics. I was so heartbroken when I heard that Tarja had parted ways with them. Nightwish is not even close to what it was. No disrespect to Annette, but she just can't fill those shoes. Thankfully. Tarja's solo career is amazing. I have almost every solo release (barring singles), and they're all great, especially "What Lies Beneath."

It's really sad that Tarja was kicked by the band. Though if they really had a friendship they should have told her that her attitude was being rude. This is just my opinion. Annette is a good singer but her voice makes Nightwish another metal band. Tarja's voice gave some type of magic to their music.
I mean seriously, the only slightly metal thing about DPPP is a little bit of a nu metal influence on some of it like Master Passion greed . Really, prior to Century Child has more riffs and is more metal then the albums after.
Wow. So this is what it was like before the "tension" arose in the band. It is so nice to see them so genuinely happy and it's such a shame that things had to change.
Tuomas is so intriguing or like Tarja said, "mysterious". He's just awesome. As for Tarja, it was great while it lasted, she contributed nicely to the band, but she's gone and I think it's for the best.
This is the new Nightwish era, and I sure as hell can't wait to hear what the mastermind has in store for us.

Very interesting dynamic between the two of them. Tuomas comes across as, understandably, a control freak (creator, writer, arranger, decider on what happens and what does not), and Tarja kinda does her best to fit in with his vision, but as she said, there comes a point where you have to take control of your own life.
It's clearer to me now why she left. (or was pushed)

I really think Tuomas and Tarja made a perfect couple in Nightwish! Tuomas is such a Wonderful, and HOT guy that writes amazing songs with Nightwish!

in one hand a person must be very reta****or have good eyes to see,and i must say,i mean im not sure about your analyse skills,but i can see a kind of rough atmosphere,toumas turns everything in a nice place but you can see on his face that he is kinda acting and not talking straight,not the questions, the thing with him and tarja in this conversation,i mean that.maybe watch it again,if you are so unsure about these idea

It's really sad that Tarja was kicked by the band. Though if they really had a friendship they should have told her that her attitude was being rude. This is just my opinion. Annette is a good singer but her voice makes Nightwish another metal band. Tarja's voice gave some type of magic to their music.
I like Tarja better, even though Annette is good.

Years ago, did u guys listened to the songs because of the music arrangements and compositions or the voice?
Are the songs metal? Yes. Dark Passion Plays is metal as well.
Did Tarja sounded METAL? nope. She's a classical singer. Among the best voice i've ever heard.
I wonder if the fans listened their previous records because of the songs, or because of the voice.
I don't think Tarja sings metal now.
But she's amazing as always.

I mean seriously, the only slightly metal thing about DPPP is a little bit of a nu metal influence on some of it like Master Passion greed . Really, prior to Century Child has more riffs and is more metal then the albums after.

Wow. So this is what it was like before the "tension" arose in the band. It is so nice to see them so genuinely happy and it's such a shame that things had to change.

Tuomas is so intriguing or like Tarja said, "mysterious". He's just awesome. As for Tarja, it was great while it lasted, she contributed nicely to the band, but she's gone and I think it's for the best.
This is the new Nightwish era, and I sure as hell can't wait to hear what the mastermind has in store for us.
Also, you're welcome to flame my comment, as most of you are Tarja worshippers anyway; and please stop with the conjectures of how Tuomas was "in love" with her. Get over it already.

OuttaEgypt, sorry but you don't have to be necessairly a Tarja fanatic to wonder if Tuomas perhaps didn't have some sort of "platonic" crush with her. I think it was pretty possible and there are some elements which make think like that.

i dont can understand, why some peoples hate anette. she is great. For me, TARJA is the best ever. nightwish with Tarja is fucking amazing. But nightwish with Anette sound fucking great too. ive seen anette live. she is do a great job. Of course, its not the old nightwish. i miss tarja too. tarja make a amazing solo career. she looks much happier. so what happend,can never change somebody. peoples, who dont like anette: PLS SHUT UP. nobody have said that you all have to listen new Nightwish.

Very interesting dynamic between the two of them. Tuomas comes across as, understandably, a control freak (creator, writer, arranger, decider on what happens and what does not), and Tarja kinda does her best to fit in with his vision, but as she said, there comes a point where you have to take control of your own life.
It's clearer to me now why she left. (or was pushed)

Anette dosnt take care of her voice. Tarja rode in a seperate car rather than the bus because she wanted to avoid the smoke of cigs. Anette dosnt think, she dosnt take care of her voice, and she dosnt harmonize with Marco's as good as Tarja.
