    Wendy's pipes (ew) should be un even

    and Larry's platform shall not only have podoboos but BULLET BILLS AS WELL!

  • If you were to make Lemmy and Wendy even harder you might consider making them throw something, if that's possible.

    I THOUGHT something about Iggy was off, considering well; I actually died against Iggy. Are regular enemies harder? I mean, I'm noticing myself missing them more in this hack, and generally being less capable of hitting them.

  • @AltairEgo1 For what it's worth, my hack's reputation seems to be that it's arguably the hardest non-Kaizo hack, and I did try to make it fairly difficult.

    I can tell. You've remained quite faithful to the original game; It really does feel like Lost Levels version of it, and that's exactly what I was looking for. Many thanks for this hack, so far I'm enjoying myself. Although, I cannot deny that some of those screw ups were due to either a delay in a jump here and there, or merely my own mistakes.

    But yeah, my own screw ups and being rusty aside, I'm impressed with what you've done, especially that water ghost house.

  • The lemmy edit was sad. It was just plan lunar magic editing. Same with wendy.

  • @kaizoisevil Wendy actually required a little more thought than it looks because of a layer 2 glitch.

    You're right otherwise, though the point wasn't to test how far I could push simple hex editing but increase the difficulty in logical ways that were true to the original battle. Lemmy is especially simple there, but it still makes sense in that way.

    Roy is like morton except with bullet bills and the walls.

    Wendy is like Lemmy with a spiked wall coming dpown and up

    Larry is like Iggy but has four(!?) podoboos!

  • Harder problem:

    1º Boss: If you throw in a way, then go to other.

    2º Boss:Fast.

    3º Boss: In the top-spike and Pandobobos.

    4º Boss: Much fires.

    5º Boss:Fast, much bullets and the walls close fast.

    6º Boss: The top-spike down ad 3 Pandobobos.

    7º Boss:4 Pandobobos and If you throw in a way, then go to other.

  • Some of it is hex editing. Some of it is changing the level header temporarily to add sprites in lunar magic. And the rest of it is just normal editing in lunar magic.

    I'm a little saddened, though. I was hoping you'd keep the hack vanilla aside from your level designs. I guess this means the version I picked up from SMWC is incomplete. :(

  • It really seemed silly to me to leave the koopa kids left alone but change the big boo boss and what not, and you probably know as well as I do that you're pretty limited when it comes to changing them in LM because of the mode 7. They fight with the same patterns though and aren't even palette swapped, so hopefully they'll still fit.

    As far as the older version, I'll let smwcentral decide if they want to keep both, one "true" vanilla and one that resembles a vanilla in all essential ways.

    I don't really have a problem with editing the boss rooms. After all, it's the room and it has nothing to do with the variables that determine run/walk speed and what-not. I guess it'll be all right, though. :o
