  • Lol... I came here from To LOVE ru..

  • Korea copy It's . means is bung o pang .

  • japanese influence is very strong among countries with a high chinese population. My first and only taste of this was when I was 5 years old in Singapore. This was back in 1990. It had cheese in it, but because I was quite young at that time, I did not know how to enjoy it. Now when I watch this I am craving some.

  • waaah japanese are like pro at baking and stuff

  • ...and they don't clean their tools nearly as much as they should (twice a day at least). I've lived in Tokyo before. That's why despite being tasty I'd never go back. Dirty bastards trying to cut corners.

  • @HumaneAnon

The one in here is in a department store, so it's naturally much cleaner than the one you mentioned, I suppose.

I think average JPN ppl are obsessed with cleanness so that I think those stores are OK. By the way, have you been there all day to watch they clean the tools? That's a not usual way to spend your precious day...XD

  • what the fuck he just stamps everything!!! so coool!!!!!!!!!

  • All this taiyaki makes me have wings and say "uguuh" when i don't get something that I want! :)

  • looks like a fun job.

  • how the heck did I get here from Kanon 2006?!?!

  • أحسة مره لذيذ الاكل نفسي أذوقه

  • look at those, so yummy! I wanna jump in there and eat them all!!! xD

  • Omg I really want to eat all of that!

  • they don't need gloves on cooking this one.. first thing try cooking in a hot place like they do plastic gloves can burn on this conditions u know so as vinyl and rubber type ones.. and on second thought using cloth gloves will just add more bacteria since ur cooking sauces and stuff.. try using gloves while baking this u might find it irritating..

  • @kimsweetlove

Yeah, you are right. Definitely we don't want melted gloves in Taiyaki. I'm not familiar with Japanese food handling regulations, but in the U.S. they were required to wear them if the vendors are handling food and money at the same time.

  • @PommeFrite thats why they should have just 1 person to handle the money :D

  • @PommeFrite i've heard that japanese chefs never handle money they have someone else at the register but not too sure about street vendors

  • @PommeFrite Did they change gloves when they touch money and then back to food?

  • great.... now i´m hungry :<

  • they should use gloves

  • @YoungKoolness17 Look at kimsweetlove's comment...it's almost impossible to use gloves cooking these. Don't be so judgmental.

  • i want one!!

  • BWAAAAH!! They look yummyyy!! >w<

  • What is Taiyaki?

  • @GellyRolll It's a Japanese fish-shaped cake :) Traditionally/usually it's filled with anko (sweet red bean paste) although some variations also exist, such as sweet cream :)

  • @kapkapchan Does it taste good?

  • @GellyRolll depends whether you have sweet tooth or not :) Some people might find it too sweet (especially the anko/red bean paste) but some people might like it. In any ways, it's a traditional food and you might find it has interesting taste :D

  • now that's a generous amount of azuki beans... Must be damn tasty...:P

  • i like the specialised tools they use.

  • lol I thought that was kevjumba's dad at first

  • i love taiyaki

  • Japan! Australia needs you!

  • why was i not born as a Japanese child or either lived in Japan. I'm still not satisfied in Vietnam and I can't find taiyaki when i go to Sydney. We need more japnese food and items in Australia P-RO-N-T-O!

I can only find ice-cream taiyaki.

  • I see moon pies

  • I WANT SOME AARGGHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always see people grease the pans with that sponge-like looking thing when making taiyaki!! Does anyone know what those are called??? Makes oiling the pan much faster I bet!!!

    Please let me know!

    Thanks so much :D

  • @Khalilah42

  • Awww I wanted to watch more of them making taiyaki! It look soooooo yum!

  • Is this Official?

  • It's slightly bothering me that I don't see gloves when they poke at it, but damn they look so good. >-<;

  • How do you close the anko side of the taiyaki? .-.

  • OH MY GOD I want TAIYAKI now looks soooo goooood!! :d

  • How do they stay so skinny with all that delicious food lol!

  • @CreatingMagic

    たぶん、あの場所が相当に暑いからでしょう。

    -

Because, maybe that place is very hot.

  • wow!!! look at how generous the amount of anko they give!!!

  • are beans?? :S or what is? (input)

  • @chio73

  • @iloveyou8770 san fransisco... argh i live in UK

    >.<

wonder if they sell them in China Town (theres japanese to i think)

  • @yamaluvify oi. thats unfortunate. ( I live in minnesota, but i travel a lot because my mum's a flight attendant, Iv actually been to london! I loved camden! have you ever been there, or are you far away from it? they have a gothic and lolita store!) they might! or else, they arent too difficult to make yourself! its only bean paste inside a pancake-like thing. You'd just need to find/buy a automatic pancake shaper. lol. i don't know what else to call it. You can find videos on how to make it!

  • @iloveyou8770 yeah i should probably BEG my mum or dad to buy me a taiyaki shaper thing ^-^ then go to asian trader, and no i havn't gone to camden :( i'd love to go though ^-^ i've only gone to places in the south

  • I was able to try the chocolate in December while visiting a customer. I think they were 180yen. I bought one, then I had to go and get 2 more because I was leaving later that day. It was either G15 or G13 around the Temple there in the market. I would love to find a griddle that can do more than one or two. Ebay doesn't have the larger ones. Does anybody know where I can get them? People in the US would love these. Please email if you have information. Thanks!

  • so fast! oO

  • This would be awesome if it were chocolate instead of beans.

  • @WorldOfSnakes In american places they add chocolate! Thats what the guy said when I got my first taiyaki and he asked if we wanted red bean paste or chocolate and said americans mostly get the chocolate. but the bean paste is actually soooo good! you would never guess!

  • @iloveyou8770 I never tried the bean paste...you make me want to. I'll try it next time for sure, thanks for the reply!!

  • @iloveyou8770 I mean I never dared to try lol but I think I definitely will!

  • that guy has nice aim

  • @ryovan

My memory is not so clear any more since this was a while ago. But my guess is at the basement of Sogo department store at Yokohama station.

  • I never want this film to end

  • I remember when they made custard filled sweet red bean cakes at my local supermarket. Tey don't do it anymore, even though they still haven't removed the cart. I'm still waiting for it! It was that yummy!

  • What? they are use hand for remove the food from pan? That hot man.Anyway I'm very interesting with the equipment. I'm not surprise when Japanese people so hi-tech

  • its also good when filled with jelly :D

  • I want to try those cute fish shaped thingys

  • Those guys that have glasses look the same... XD

  • 外人はタイ焼きに興味を持つです。

    日本ではありふれた食べ物なのにです。

    --

    Foreigners are interested in Taiyaki.

Though it is a very ordinary cake in Japan.

  • @dccmnmn God, that kanji for "gai"jin looks as awful, like it is an insult in itself.

  • @kiminokami write it please

  • @dccmnmn that's because japanese people see it everyday! and foreigners dont.

  • Had some Dorayaki at an anime convention this past week, it wasn't fresh but I actually liked the Anko! Boy would I love to get some of that fresh -dreamy sigh-

  • Oh god I luff maii Taiyaki, Ilove to eat while it is still hot and fresh made!!! ✿(=^・^=)✿

  • I am so hungry right now.

  • they r good!!

  • i still have to try one of these they sell it in town but havent had the time to stop there :P

  • ok thanks... seem to be yummy :p

  • what is the yellow thing? i see anko but the yellow what it is ?

  • @Terre314 As siroan(white anko) it seems to be too soft and too yellow. I think maybe custard cream.

  • that things taste soo good! I tried them at an anime convention and I got addicted to them, they taste like crepes, or even better.

  • OMG, i loveeee taiyaki! my cousin puts chocolate in ours.

    so yummy,

  • nice they dont skimp out on red bead for that size. ;D hella worth it

  • ...so much red bean, i dont like that for sure :-S

  • it looks delicious, but i dont like anko that much

  • Anko here is not too sweet and usually less refined. I don't care for Anko as a rule but this one is almost OK.

  • amazing,....

  • I've always wanted to try one ):

  • I WANT TAIYAKI SO BAD!!!! xd

  • Ive never had it why is it shaed

  • is it like cake batter or something?

  • its taiyaki batter!

  • Lookup CookingWithDog's channel, they have how to make these. It's sort of like a cake batter.

  • It is more like Western pancake batter without milk.

  • oishi !!!

  • omg, that looked delicious. i'm hungry now

  • wow, I used to to eat these when I was young...they were so hot, burned my mouth haha

  • that made me hungry X3

  • i made one with waffle mix and anko.

hehe it turned out... good lol

  • Omg i never tasted one before.

    It is nice?

  • yep there is cheese filling in my country...but they are awesome...they are sold in stores know as Mr Bean( soy bean) and having many desserts like soy bean drinks. soya bean curd dessert and this! XD but thats my country version XD

  • Sweet red bean filling... I'm hungry Dx Yes it's nice =x

  • is naaaaaissssss =D takoyaki is good too if you like octopus

  • MMMmm-mmm!!

That Taiyaki looks so good I wish they sell them in america

  • You should not expect the taste of TAIYAKI in excess.

The bean jam[ANKO] that exists in TAIYAKI will be a high hurdle for you.

A lot of foreigners say that ANKO is unpalatable, even if they live in Japan long.

  • But it's not always Anko in it. Also Vanilla and chocolate filling =)

But yeah, i don't like the taste of Anko, but they put it in a lot of stuff @_@'''

  • Comment removed

  • We see them a lot in Rumiko Takahashi's mangas.

  • oishi!!

  • Yummy

  • Uguu! It's great !

  • taiyaki oishii desuu

    "Taiyaki pan" という名前で 家庭用のタイヤキの焼き皿が

    見つかりますね。

  • where can i get this machine? great idea for street food!

  • たい焼き、大判焼きだね。

    お祭りの時によく屋台で売っています。

    中のあんこが熱いので、やけどには気をつけてください

  • That's a generous amount of anko in each taiyaki. The ones we had at local festival, the guys selling were so cheap, I could haldly taste the anko.

But we enjoyed the festival anyway.

  • that seems about right, there should be alot of anko but not so much that it fills the tail. Anko is really sweet so its very hard not to taste it, sounds like they made it wrong. I wish I could have some more right now!

  • Taiyaki is one of the things that the Japanese left in Taiwan after 1945... I still remember enjoying custard Taiyaki in Taihoku when I was really really small. Wonderfully tasty and cute. They had little food carts and they made the Taiyaki as you order.

  • The custard filled ones are my favorite

  • and It's not cake!!!

Taiyaki is Taiyaki. YOU must understand a foreign food.

for instance, we cant understand american HOT DOG.

    why dog?

  • Tiyaki origin is from Japan

    Fuckin koreans copied Japanese Taiyaki

    Please dont wrong!

    Origin from Japan

  • what kind food is this ?

  • i think it's a cake,,

the taste is a lil bit like pancake or waffle without the crunchy feels,,and there's anko (sweet red bean paste) inside it,,

I don't like anko,,so usually I just bite the outerside of this taiyaki,,x3

  • I think there's chocolate flavoured taiyaki nowadays.

  • Damn... They make it look so easy... I want some!

  • mmm food looks yummmmmy

  • gimme!!!!!

  • i want some now Y_Y

  • dang they really know what they are doing!...fast are they to :P

  • arnt u efficient at ur job?

  • Wow first time I see such generous filling!Whats the yellow filling?

  • I think it is supposed to be custard.

  • i wish i could have taiyaki! ive never had it before Dx

  • If you like eating imagawayaki, you can find them at any Chinatown or Japantown eating places or even supermarkets in L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.

  • Ahhh I love taiyaki ^^ I go to Japantown just to eat them <333

  • the round one aren`t taiyaki. it`s IMAGAWayaki

  • omg i wanna eat some

  • *drools*

  • aww man taiyakis r so good, damn i need 2 go back to japan

  • I think those griddles they're using are so cool. I want them.

  • I saw one online but it cost 20 dollars. :(

  • Sweet bean paste is too sweet for me. At least with just bread. Any suggestions? I don't want to waste it.

  • fabuloso........mmmmmmmm.........k rico

  • it depends where you live, in USA i live in NYC so i can find these kind of stuff at flushing where they have these stands. you may want to try a japanese store they might have the equipment to make it or have frozen ones

  • yummy!

can i ask a questoin? in paris, whenever i go to a japanese restaurant, and ask where i can find taiyaki, they look at me thinking i am an idiot..they have no idea what taiyaki is ... normal?

  • I don't live in Paris; therefore I'm not sure why they don't know Taiyaki. It is a rather old-time sweet, but in Yokohama those were sold at a department store. Maybe show them the spelling?

  • i will, i'll eat japanese tonight.

sometimes they ask me to describe taiyaki..i do but still are clueless..

  • Good Luck!

Here, sometimes owners and workers at Japanese restaurants aren't Japanese. Ask where they are from.

  • Where can I buy Taiyaki in the USA, it looks good, I want to try the chocolate filled one and a red beens. Can some one tell me?

  • Sorry I don't know the availability of those in the US.

  • They are usually available in Asian Markets either in the frozen or in a taiyaki bakery. The best place to get them good is like Japan Town in CA yum....

  • There are taiyaki bakeries at some, if not all, Mitsuwa Marketplaces. There are about five of them in L.A., since I'm assuming that's where you live according to your profile. ;D

  • this reminds me of takoyaki

  • Yum! oh how i miss them ;o; i wanna go back to japan

  • Actually we eat fruits as desserts most of the time.Truly there aren't really so called desserts in traditional asian cuisines.Currently there "are" desserts from cafes and other food dining stores that has the European style foods and etc.But there are so called wagashis and sweet candies, rice cakes, etc.

  • ohhh taiyaki. I could never really savor <sp> the taste since I always had like sushi before it so i got too full to really enjoy it.

  • Basically Japanese cuisine doesn't include desserts. I guess because meals are always cooked with some sugar in it. People used to eat sweets like this with tea at tea time, sort like British.

  • Interesting...I'm Asian and I've eaten many taiyakis and I'm sure happy looking at this
