what i wanted to say was, is that when you have the ALS turned on, the blow off or divert valve do dot have enough vacum from the intake manifold to open, because the idle valve opens and closes vrerry quicly to prduce the missfirese.
the wrc cars have more modes...you can switch on and off the blow off valve...watch more videos with same car at tests for example... when it passes by, once you heare the sound, and sometimes you don't......
You can't turn a blow off valve. The turbo system is a system that is well tuned to work with minimal control from the driver. When you hear the car's with out any sound after it just means the boost is not enough to make a sound, such as when the Antilag system is tufned off.
wastegate??? er ye m8... an who the fuk sed its "als". oh an yes u can have a "BOV/dumpvalve" in wrc, u can even have them in group N rally. not as anextra but they do come as standard on most turbo cars! (usualy reserculating thow)

chelsealynnm: You are wrong ! Rallycars can`t use DV because of antilag . That "giggling" sound comes when throttle valve is closed , pressure hits it and returns to turbo .
No shit Jake261, that's the sound bypass valves make when the throttle-body closes due to the pressure increase, I know how that works, I don't even think you read my other comment. What do you mean by DV? And anti-lag happens within the exhaust, not intake, so you're not really making sense here.
Antilag needs air too and that is usually controlled by valve which bypasses throotle body . Antilag keeps turboboost up and with dump-or bypass valve all pressure is lost , got it ? If not use google.
yea it is a wasegate not a blowoff valve. with a wasegate under hard deceleration its sound like a blowoff valve just really fast i have one on my starion

Small turbo+High boost+Very hard or no BOV makes this high pitched sound!

you cant use a bov in wrc. Thats one thing i know about wrc. That surely sounds like high pressure compressor surge

The "chirping" sound is made by the turbine blades as the boost pressure backs up and trys to stall the turbine when the throtle is closed.

That sound is a result of the anti lag system...

THAT CHIRPING IS NOT THE SOUND OF A WASTEGATE. That is a blowoff/bypass valve. Jeez...there are so many ignorant people out there.
