@okaymichellee Every surgeon is different depending on individual techniques and efficiencies. Our average surgery time is 30 minutes for breast augmentation.
@laurencal10 There are many versions of "rapid recovery" breast augmentation. Some of this has to do with technique (minimizing tissue damage and tearing) and some has to do with the postoperative recovery instructions (early arm motion, etc...). Our patients are expected to be off narcotic pain meds by the second day and many don't need any.
I'm getting mine done on Oct. 26th 2011. I'm getting 450CC's. I'm freaking out. Their going through the nipple though. Thank God I'll be knocked out! Oh my Lord!!!! Ouch!!!
@peachxjamie Yes. Particularly with this incision which does not go through breast or nipple tissue. However, some women cannot breast feed with or without breast implants for a variety of reasons.
I used to be against breast implants . But now I can see reasons for getting one. there are many women who are as flat chested as a man and have no breast at all. sucks that you can't pick your own genetics if we could we would all be happy
@raphaeldiva The cost varies depending on the surgeon, facility fees, anesthesia fees, etc. Generally it ranges from $3500 to $10,000. Our fee for saline breast augmentation is currently $4800. We have a certified operating suite eliminating the facility fees.
my uncle's a doctor, I've seen him operate, and he always has music on. It calms him down and lets him focus. Personally, I think that's a fair trade for the patient: surgeon gets to listen to music and in exchange he doesn't screw up on your procedure.
@Navylady4 Good question. On my website yorkyates(.)com there is an out of town patient guide with a lot of travel info. My assistants are a great help. Call them at (801) 773-4840 ext 3441.
Dr.Yates I think you do great work. I've gone on a few consultations and I've been told on top of the muscle would be better for me because I have a lot of breast tissue. Do you ever recommend subglandular or are you strictly submuscular?
@Navylady4 - Yes I will do subglandular but prefer the long term advantages of submuscular for most patients. The implants are generally softer and have a lower risk of contracture.
@IsagenixDoc Good question. Over the muscle = a little less pain and a little more "lift" of the breast. However, there is a higher risk of capsular contracture, rippling and a less natural shape and feel of the breast.
@Angel200690 She went from a B cup to a C - D cup depending on where she shops. My best advice for you is to look for a board certified plastic surgeon. Look at his before and after pictures to get an idea of his artistic vision. If any one in your area has 3D imaging it is a great tool to help you feel comfortable with your implant size.
Somoeone must be REALLY self conscious to go through all that..i mean...that's some SCARY shit! I wouldn't do it if i just had my nipple. (which i don't)
@atalynbear08 Good question. The catheters are a small diameter and removed before the end of the operation so there is no scarring from them. If they did leave scars, I wouldn't use them.
What do you think the minimum age is? I have a really flat chest, and I'm 17. My mom also has a flat chest and she said she never got full breasts. I'm afraid I wont either! So what is the age?
Why is the muscle not sewn back together... all other videos I've seen of this procedure, the surgeon sews the muscle back together to keep the implant truly submuscular so it doesn't droop. Please enlighten me!
@mosldent Good question. The muscle is only released on the bottom of the breast. If it were not the implant would move excessively with muscle contraction. It also would have a less attractive shape and the implant would tend to settle too high.
Diprivan (propofol) has gotten a lot of press lately because of Michael Jackson. In reality in the proper hands (an anesthesiologist) it is the safest anesthetic on the market.
@PinkDragonStar From what I have read, the actual new gummy bear implants are still in the testing stage and only those women in the test group are getting the gummy bears.
@Dryates1 The Doc here has gummy but there is stipulation, must be over 22 and had implants of breast cancer. So the implants that he showed the first one, the silicone that spills out, thats the one everyone uses?
@PinkDragonStar There is confusion about gummy bear implants. Both cohesive silicone and form stable silicone implants are being referred to as "gummy bear". Both hold their shape and neither "spill out". This video only shows saline.
@Dryates1 ok. Bc I was watching a video showing both. I thought this girl had silicone put in but the Doc used saline as a demo and took them out. So which is better?
@PinkDragonStar It depends on the patient. For a very thin patient with little tissue coverage over the implant, silicone is less likely to be palpable or ripple.
@PinkDragonStar Rupture of a silicone implant often results from a fold in the implant in the pocket. Like a newspaper crease, it becomes a weak point on the implant. Other causes are wearing out of the shell over time and trauma. The 6 year rupture rates are 1.1%.
@PinkDragonStar Thats common sense im not a doc and i can answer that profopol is used 4 surgeries mj wanted it 4 a sleeping aid and its not used 4 that, thats y he met his unfortunate demise.
This is insane. How can it be safe to traumatize the breast in this way? Best option? There is nothing wrong with this woman's body; why is it a best option?
some people should not be allowed to comment. they have no clue what it is..and think that they can talk shit. money does not buy confidence...but getting implants is the best option for some people
She don't look that bad... Why does she need a surgery? DO money really can buy confidence? I thought confidence should be something that comes from your mind, not your body!

@autumnkelc The firmness depends on the amount of breast tissue a patient has and the softness of the implant chosen.

Doctor, was this done under twilight anesthesia/IV sedation?
toomuchsoysauce 1 year ago
@DrYates After seeing some before and after pictures, I agree that submuscular may be the better route.
Over the muscle seems to give the appearance of ptosis (breast).
I assume, it is a foregone conclusion the patient will experience more pain submuscular, and have a longer recovery time?
IsagenixDoc 1 year ago
@IsagenixDoc a little tougher submuscular. Not much. Definitely worth it.

What are the pros and cons of under the muscle or over the muscle? I'm sure this is a consideration for appearance.
I like the idea of the catheters.

@IsagenixDoc Good question. Over the muscle = a little less pain and a little more "lift" of the breast. However, there is a higher risk of capsular contracture, rippling and a less natural shape and feel of the breast.
