i want to try this but i have a feeling i m gonna get confused but the first part seems easy enouch with that head control; something i never even think to utilize
nice move, ill try this next time i'm in a standing guillotine, i like the finish with the choke. Is it really that easy to get your head out from his hold if you are in sidecontrol @ s.20 ?
Typically, an inexperienced fighter will hold your head for dear life :-), so no, it's not easy. But with a forearm under the jawline, downward pressure, and driving your head up and back to create shoulder pressure, you'll get out.
this a pretty nice escape but it ignores the most obvious thing the opponent is gonna do almost instantly and that is to wrap their legs around you as soon as they sink it.....
looks like a decent escape.. i too never use the chin control but I think it must be very effective because I understand the importance of controlling the head.. but I just worry that I would injur my training partner by grabbing and twisting his head quickly??
Thanks. It is amazing how infrequently ground fighters use this key control point. Grabbing a guy's chin around his neck is extremely effective. Could be that some of the BJJ guys who have become too accustomed to the gi need to look to other control points besides the lapels.
not saying i know more than u but if there good at the guillotine they wuldve wrapped there legs around your back and locked there body tirangle in then u cant do this move can u? im just thinking about it in my head it doesnt seem like it wuld work. i no wenever i use the guillotine i wrap the legs around quick smart to finish em quickly
I can understand your disbelief. Most guillotine moves are pretty risky. The truth is, I've successfully gotten this against brown belts in real matches. I wouldn't post a technique that hasn't been tested. Give it a shot. It has become one of my team's favorites.
Would the other option be any better? Stand there and let him put you to sleep? I'll remeber to not try this next time some one is crushing my neck with the guillotine.
ooooohhh shit... what a fuck is this?

I am isolating a variation of the guillotine in this video. Other positions would require a different move.
There are a lot of MMA guys who would prefer a top position, simply because they don't want to end up on the bottom if the guy escapes.

i would love to see you pull that when someone is actually trying to win. Creative yet unrealistic in a real match
