I witnessed two of the most humblest speeches that were ever made at the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday August 2, 2008. I sat with 22,000 proud Washington Redskins fans watching two of the best ever to play the game of professional football. Darrell Green ended his speech rightly saying, "I belong here", for Art Monk I say, what took so long? Congratulations and God bless you both.
Truly, two of the greatest to ever wear the Redskin uniform, and truly, two of the greatest to ever play the game. And though for some of us, Art's induction took way too long, it oh so obvious, that for him, it would be whenever it was the apointed time: Ahhhh...'Amazing Grace'. Hail to the Redskins!
Yeah, it is what is. I truly do feel sorry for him. I think it's so sad when people go through life so angry and ignorant. But whatever. A huge congrats to Monk and Green. They were a couple of my heros growing up. Hail to the Redskins. Forever.
Two of the greatest Redskins we've ever been graced to have playing for us. I'm so happy they finally were honored and inducted. Met Art Monk very recently as we work down the street from one another. Truly humble, and class act guyss -him and Green. Hail to the Redskins!
Art would meet the fans after the game and sign autographs until everybody was happy, no matter how many were waiting.
