Greetings from Prague! It's unfortunate that your ancestors weren't of the same opinion when the Spaniards or Americans came into your lands. Without enmity between many tribes (or without civil war in the Incan Empire), the conquistadors and American settlers probably wouldn't succeed.
I don't consider your people racially alien or inferior; generally, I like them.

Gracias kinicpacal, por que las fronteras no nos separaron,Gracias por unir el sur de Mexico,Guatemala y los paises de centro america que comforman la cultura maya...
I am married to a mayan woman. I am from dallas,tx born and raised in america but I moved to Xela guatemala in 1998 when I was 19 years old and I visited small villages by myself all over southern guatemala. Long story short I met a beautiful woman from chichicastenengo and so I married her, she really has the strong mayan charicteristics, I love her. HA a white east texas redneck boy and a mayan girl, thats a strong blood line !
The Mayans still exist, in fact there are millions of Mayan people living in the Yucatan and Central America. As all cultures have musical traditions, of course the modern Maya have music.
The original Mayans who built the Pyramids left the Earth surface. But them and other natives as Incas and Aztecs returning back in year 2012 with our creator.
If those who live in Yucatan and Central America are the Mayans than we wouldn't be digging for true for who, what and where of these days. Right ?Tiahuanaco was having people living there and somehow mysteriously they left this great city behind and for what reason?
Mayans left huge pyramid cities alone and left them for what reason ;-)
What happened to the ancient Mayans is not much of a mystery. Remember that in all ancient civilizations it was the common people who did the actual building of monuments, while the nobles designed and supervised the projects. The upper classes had few practical survival skills of their own - they depended on the labor of others, just as we privileged Westerners today no longer hunt or forage for most of our own food.
When the goings got rough, it was the upper classes who had idle time to think about pyramids, mathematics, and heiroglyphs that suffered most. They're the ones that disappeared, while people who knew how to produce their own food and build their own shelters are the ones who survived. These abilities are much more desirable in a case of societal collapse than knowing how to write and manage wealth.
In the same way, the builders of Tiwanaku are the ancestors of the modern Aymara people.
How come they don't know to lift up thousands of tons of stones today ?
They forgot ?
If something was so important and so secret to them, why they got so crippled ?
I mean really, if my ancient family root teach those things all the time to all my children, it can't be just forgotten. Those who disappeared, they left behind them something to tell. Some people say, that those builders were from another dimension of time and time to time the coming back. As they will again.
The descendents of the surviving laborers had no need to keep their stoneworking skills after there was no one left to pay them for their work. They likely simply dropped it in favor of more useful survival skills, like fishing, hunting, agriculture, and building dwellings.
Think about it this way. How many modern Westerners retain their ancestors' job skills? I'm middle class. My ancestors from two hundred years ago were farmers, but I didn't learn gardening from them, I had to teach myself.
You speak like a book and not like Mayan Pyramid builder.
This what you say here is just about the same we hear all around and all the time and nothing new and nothing we can see trough those huge walls of Teotihuacan.
Its citizens disappeared without a trace in 700 A.D.
What you are just telling me here it's sound kind of funny, it's like one day they just said fuck the Pyramids we are going to farm ?
And that's not to say all ancient knowledge is lost - spirituality certainly isn't. Many modern Maya and other Native Americans maintain ancient customs of song, dance, art, and music, often synchetized with Christianity.
Ancient monuments were ceremonial centers on a large scale - demonstrations of the wealth and power of the nobility. Modern indigenous communities still have ceremonial centers, just smaller and less extravagant because they aren't insanely rich. Just as meaningful, though.
That place is called Palenque and its in the state of Chiapas i am originally from Minatitlán Veracruz a few hours from Palenque and when i went there as a child it was magical. The ruins there are breath taking i really enjoyed and i hope one day i may return to see those wonders of our indigeonus people of México.
The building that the First United Methodist church is in is so beautiful and close to where I live just right on the next block. As for being a Cherokee. I have no idea of who I really am. adopted as a child to me my race and my nationality is a big question. My grand dad looked so much like a Cherokee that I figured that out quick. He had high cheekbones, snowwhite hair and my own hair is course and just natural enough to get a response from a real Cherokee. Methodistgirl

E3M3R3, that is a pretty bold statement that you made. Lots of natives might be offended by what you said. Thay have there own creation stories, we must respect those in a time like this. So you are saying that those of us in America didn't necessarily come from England just because we look alike?! Cultures have a way of losing information and then creating tales to try and explain phenomena during the passage of long amounts of time.
