  • Why are the cavaliers only guys?

  • Wow... Ok so I'm a total trumpet geek and I usually hate colorguard but seeing this makes me want to be on colorguard. That's how bad our colorguard is.

  • the Cavaliers make me want to get a sex change so i could at least spin with them. then i think all the practice in the word could not make me that good

  • I'm fairly sure this is the equivalent of band geek porn. And these comments are doing nothing to prove me wrong.

  • oh my god.. so fast!!

  • MAN do I miss Bret's writing

  • I think I just died and went to heaven....a whole field of shirtless band and color guard guys.........

  • Absolute eye candy :-)

  • is it bad that i laughed at the fact that half the guys had SHORT shorts on..? that even BOPs wouldn't wear.....? O.o" oh but btdub they're my favorite.(:

  • lol puts my band to shame

  • AWW YEAA

  • @trombean your right drum corps isn't easy but u don't give marching band enough credit. If you were there at every practice for marching bands and u saw how hard they work u would never disrespect marching band again.

  • @thesaintsfan21 I totally agree. I march for American Fork Marching Band and it is not easy.

  • It looks like the guard is bigger than the band go guardie : )

  • they should let one girl in... Just me. and a bunch of shirtless guys. :D sounds like a plan.

  • and they say marching band is easy -_-

  • @AnonymousPlayerr Cause it is :)

  • @AnonymousPlayerr Marching band IS easy... Drum corps is not.

  • @AnonymousPlayerr this is drum corps!!

  • @penguinwarfare93 oh ok geeze you get what im saying though..

  • @gregg1122 get your hands on a copy of the 2005 Cavaliers production. Their middle piece is a tribute to the Great Chicago Fire of1871. Ladders are used in that number. @Tantar117 the Cavaliers are an all male DCI World Class Corps as are the Madison Scouts. There are 21 other World Class Corps that are co-ed, and plenty of females march tenors (and quite frankly kick ass!). I believe both the Cavaliers and Scouts started as Boy Scout troops and have chosen to keep the all male tradition.

  • @disneydude2003 all correct statements except for the fact that the scouts have made a couple of exceptions for soloists.

  • I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!

  • God how i hate marching in real grass

  • man the werdest thing about them is they are all boys. Why noy girls. A girl diderves to be on a tenor

  • wats up with the latters at 0:24

  • @gregg1122 Most likly props or prop stand ins.

  • 0:24 - 0:26 wtf? oh drums...whatever

    0:27 YAY MEN!!!

  • that was unbelievably homoerotic. I think they do that on purpose. (plus it's also blazing hot out there in their all day practices)

  • Wow... Yeah, I forgot how much the perc feature used to kick our butts... I miss marching so much.

I'm feeling verklempt... Talk amongst yourselves...

  • ...WOW. I'm going to go sit in my sad corner and spin my flag slowly.

  • @psycat4ever i love it

  • they go from a 4to5 to a dead stop at like 160. intense

  • if you watch the prep into the halt, wasnt a full step. it almost looked like an 8 to 5.

  • @adkii07 cavaliers dont jazz run anything less than a 4 to 5.. i promise you

  • @Lightrix13 Jazz run is a technique not at step size... but I was saying that it appears to be smaller step coming into the last hold.

  • @Lightrix13 Yeah We Do. In the opener of MACHINE right after the big hold and machine dance moves the very next dot those in the back (which is where I was) was a 3 to 5 step backwards marching. They basically told us find a way to get there!

  • @Lightrix13 Yeah We Do. In the opener of MACHINE right after the big hold and machine dance moves the very next dot those in the back (which is where I was) was a 3 to 5 step backwards marching. They basically told us find a way to get there! And the jazz run is also a step size for us too. One step is exactly 45 inches which equates to right outside the first hash if stepping off from the yard line.

  • @robocavie06 sorry, i meant we dont jazz run 5 to 5s or 6 to 5s. the only time the jazz run techniques are used are for 4 to 5s and ocassionally 3 to 5s

  • Holy Sweet Jesus!!! Half naked men doing incredible things on an open field with other men! I want to join!!!! :D

  • thanks I saw tis show ever since I was a freshman at BOA and WGI for ads with them and the latters but never knew what show it was

    thanks!!

    they're AMAZING!!

  • some pretty crazy step sizes.

  • you all are amazing!! i know 2 guys in the guard and they are amazing too.

  • God, I miss this. I was in Marching Band in highschool (Farmington MO Black Knight Marching Band). I'd give ANYTHING to go back and be in the band again.

  • what year is this?

  • that would be their 2005 show My Kind of Town

  • holy cow poop!!

    that was crazyy!

    :D

  • =o

    amazing

  • Corps.

  • hi.what instrument ur playing...i idolized this group i really admire your drill seqeunce.the colorguard amazing

  • INTENSE!

  • Yep...

They are pretty much the shit.

  • why are they all boys?

  • cavaliers drum and bugle corps. it's an all male world class drum corps.

  • ooooooh! ok, it thought it was like a highschool or something

  • Comment removed

  • @polkacoveredcherry Also they used to be and still are to some point associated with the Boy Scouts of America so no females are allowed to join because of that.

  • @polkacoveredcherry This is one of the two all male drum corps in DCI

  • type &fmt=18 after the url to watch in high quality... works on all videos

  • ahh

I get to meet the cavalier colorguard and they're flippin amazing!!lol

and some of them are pretty good looking too

    :]]

  • they're like that because they're all guys. =D i love them.

  • good god I would've past out by now lol

  • Oh my god...

    :faint:

  • DAMN!!!! hot hot hot hot hot... i got my picture taken with the drum major

  • the colorguard is so intense....so amazing!!!

  • umm... excuse me douche face... that spells SPLDIE... and as gay as the cavaliers colorguard may be... They are some of the greates marching music performers on the face of the planet... make stupid comments somewhere else.

  • Excuse me queef face... even if the double obligation was to be litteraly put in the word splooie it would spell spldoie not spldie. Secondly, double obligation stands for OO AS IN splOOie stupid ass. Learn the facts first.

  • hahahahaha you guys crack me up. LOL

  • That's not what it means...

  • i'm sorry but to not of heard of the cavies or at least dci just seems unreal...omg i am from nc and i know Carolina crown isn't the best around when it comes to dci, hardly even up there with some, but i love them and any dci group is the literal shit...hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • crown is very up there with some....in the top tier actually...

  • I bet you guys were the happiest things...

  • oh good God they are AMAZING!

  • it's not a marching band dude...

  • you're kidding, right?

they are marching, and they have instruments. even a complete simian could figure it out.

  • actually it takes a special simian LIKE YOU. ITS A DRUM CORPS YOU DUMB JACKASS! marching bands have woodwinds sousphones etc..

  • instrumentation has NOTHING to do with the name of the activity. some colleges choose to have limited instrumentation as well, but that doesn't make them any less of marching bands. drum corps is a type of marching band.

  • yeah true but thats the technical classification... the actual classification is drum corps

  • drum corps is an organization. if a marching band were to get rid of all their woodwinds it wouldnt be a corps it would still be a marching band. the only way to be a corps is to join dci. no other way. and besides drum corps are definitly amazingly better than marching bands

  • actually there are plenty of corps that dont compete for dci like dca corps. some high schools have drum and bugle corps too. so instrumentation has everything to do with it being a corps. it could also be called a marching band because it is a musical ensemble that marches but the TECHNICAL classification for it would be a drum and bugle corps

  • i heard that there is only 1 high school drum and bugle corps in the country. kinda sad. i wish we were one. im not fond of woodwinds and marching band, its just not as powerful

  • yeah actually there is only one high school corps left and i think they disbanded and became a marching band... the video of their last performance is on youtube... i think its called "greatest drum corps ending" or sumthin like that

  • Calling a Drum Corps a marching band is like Calling the Navy the boy scouts!

  • Nope, i never heard of them... till now lol I like how all the memebers of the marching band are topless =]

  • pretty awesome marching band! what is it, high school? or college?

  • this is a DCI guard. the best of the best. marching band on steroids??

you're telling me you've never heard of the Cavaliers?

  • @nataliesteele thank you. i plan on joining the cavaliers when i get outta colledge.

  • @gregg1122 Ther is an age limit on DCI

  • OMG!! plain and simple

  • Best part of the show, right there...plain and simple.

  • yeah. especially how the guard membermakes his way through the band like there's nothing to it.
