You know I have been looking for this song for 30 f'n years....I remember seeing this first day of MTV....I gave up after people telling me that I was nuts and this didnt exist and couldnt find anything on the band back in Chicago in the 80s.Reunion!!!! Damn straight there better be a reunion....I would go.
I've spent almost 30 years trying to find this song. One of the very few I still remember, or have tried to. My "bucket list" was short to begin with. SCORE! Cheers to you my friend for bringing it back. TOO cool.
this is the best band from the 80's. even though they dont make music like this anymore, this rocks!!!! My dad knew ( and still does) all of the members of the band!
Wow Tom. Look at all of these comments from fans who want a reunion. Did you hear that the Hammerjacks reunion at The Recher Theatre SOLD OUT!! 80s Baltimore bands are making a comeback!!!
What a fukkin' diamond in the rough!!! I remember everything these guys did. I still the original EP autographed from Coast to Coast. How many of you remember that? What great times 2 be a musician in B-more. WE had it all, DC Star,Kix was "The Shooz" then, Face Dancer,Madam X,Mac,Crack the Sky even Talas called this place their 2nd home more than NY. Get more of this up here.Kudos to u for the sharing!Bootcamp reunion, I'll be there.
Classic! I've been looking for this tune ever since I first saw this video back in '81. Beginning January 1st of 2000, MTV2 was supposed to show every video MTV has ever played, but for some reason Bootcamp was excluded. I was outraged.
I don't recall seeing Johnny Van Zandt or The Fools, but I do remember a Steve Martin skit called "What I Believe" (or something like that) getting heavy rotation back in the early 80s. Did they not show that either? Too bad they skipped the Hoovers too.
I didn't see the MTV2 show, but VH1 Classic has long refused to play any of those videos (and yes, "What I Believe" was the Steve Martin clip). The Hoovers had a song called "Good Life," Dirty Looks had a song called "Tailing You," Johnny Van Zant had "It's You" and The Fools did a cover of "Running Scared." I don't remember the name of the Sea Duce song, though.
And where are all these guys now, out of curiosity......

Watching vids like this always makes me a little sad. Life was soooo uncomplicated then. Sigh.
