My friggan 9700 Bold's wifi keeps disconnecting "Infrastructure Error" in diagnostics. It wasn't doing this before. I'm right beside my router. I've try rebooting the router....etc etc.The wifi connecton when turned on is superfast but then after 30 seconds of browsing it pauses for a minutes or two but then reestablishes connection briefly again. I shut off all computers, reset the router, my wife's Iphone runs very fast with no problem--so it's related to the phone. Anyone know of this?

@vincevega0 The Bold is known for its wifi issues. I also have 9700 which is about a week old, it always connects and disconnects from my Wifi.. We have nokia 5800 XpressMusic and iphone 3g which run fast on wifi and work perfectly.

Thank For the video, I definitely going with Nexus one now! Nexus one is the best web browser phone for At&t 3G since it flash support and almost 2 to 3 time faster than Blackberry. Why would BLACKBERRY keep update cell phone without any improvement in wed browser speed ( WTF happen to engineer)??

Im using the phone on T mobile and its not the phone its the brower. Id you have this phone download Opera mini browser 5 beta 2. it loaded this site on wi fi in 7 seconds.

No one is going to argue that another smartphone has a faster browser. You'd be off-base in thinking that another smartphone's browser is more secure, though. The main reason it's slow compared to other smartphones is that all data has to travel through Blackberry's servers before it goes through AT&T's. You get the same results using a Blackberry on any carrier.

Reason why it was slow even on wifi was because the wifi icon on the 9700 on the right hand side was greyed out, meaning that although the device was connected to the wifi router, it wasn't fully connected to either BES or BIS.

User error.

The issue is he's not using the wifi "hotspot" browser. When you turn on Wifi on a Blackberry, you have to "log into wifi hotspot" first before the phone will send requests over wifi for the browser. Once you do that, it's blisteringly fast in that browser.

The 9700 is slow when browsing because its limited to 3.6 MBS which means its half the speed of an iphone 3GS which is capable of 7.2MBS. Anyway. its an awesome phone but falls very short with the internet and its built in limitations.

Yes, Opera Mini Beta 5 worked for me after I installed it and attempted to run it a few times and reset my phone.

The initial setup was glitchy but it works fine now. Still no YouTube working on the 9700 tho, I think it's an OS bug.

The bb browser is the one that is slow. I really wish they would improve it. It really can't compete with other browsers out there for other platforms. But fortunately there is opera mini and the upcoming skyfire

i did a comparison with the bold 9000 on wifi at the same time as you clicked go and my bold finished loading a few seconds before both 9700 on 3G and wifi. and i'm running wifi on rogers network with their lite service. hmmmm not much difference??
