nice set up! but i would check out the Abu Garcia Revo SX! little more expensive but i like it more than my curado, definitely check out the revo sometime though its an incredible reel the same size of the curado with 2x the drag for saltwater!

@wibasskid I have 4 curados and have had 2 quantum kvd's. the curado blows the kvd out of the water, not even any comparison. sold both the kvd's and got curados. I also have 3 revos (2 sx's and 1 stx) and you can tell it's built more solid than the revo by using them side by side for 5 minutes. The curado is pretty comparable to my daiwa zillions, which cost $100 more.

As for the rod, skeet reese rods are trash, carrot stix are OK (thats coming from someone sponsored by e21). Get a St. Croix

The curado is alright. I don't really like it. The core is better for me the drag system is amazingly better.

@AyoChing ...and the core is $180 more lol. Shimano's higher end reels' drag systems are all awesome. The curado is actually a bit more heavy-duty than the core (core is built more for finesse fishing, light crankbaits, etc). The curado's internals WILL NOT burn out no matter how long you deep crank with them.

he dude a tip for ya...when ur not using that rod and reel loosen the drag soo the lightest pull will make some line come out...cause if not the drag will go bad on u buddy....do this with all ur baitcasters.....the spinning reels arent effected as much

Why are kids so obsessed with the curados,i dont see barely any pros using them,even the shimano sponsored guys. Ive got one myself and its horrible,i was reeling in a fish on a rattle trap and it stripped the gears. The fish was 3 pounds.
