  • i have no idea what is going on.

  • I don't mean to be a downer...but you probably shouldn't have a caster in your room. If your investment blows out there is a chance that your metal fly out the back and out into the room. Molten metal is never a good thing to have flying around your room.

  • @shookings SO.... build one and post it on youtube.. go on. If it's so easy show us!

I personaly think you bark too much for so much little biting. Prove me wrong.

  • okay so can someone tell me what all i need to make this jewelry?

  • @shookings not everyones grandmother is a packrat. Im sorry but I would love to do this but have no idea where to find those things nor how to assemble them. I cant speak for kaleluk31, but I am absolutely not lazy and find it a bit rude for you to assume anyone who doesnt have supplies lying around from 1934 as such. If you have a more productive suggestion Id love to hear it.

  • People use this in dental labs.

  • I guess that I see goggles on the artist. But those uncovered arms frighten me. It seems a bit casual to trust that no accident could happen! I am watching this You Tube video bacause it was assigned as part of an on-line class at Sinclair Community College. On-line, right there, you know that anything can happen!

  • @shookings

    Go that man LOL!

  • Crazy got a torch in your bedroom?

  • the most amazing jewelry collection is now at jenniferelizabeth (dot) com they have an eclectic line of jewelry inspired by vintage elements and giving it a modern twist.

  • @shookings funny people can make assumptions on other people like you calling me lazy when you know zero about me

  • in the eyes

  • Make your home creasy with Asian women *lushfmlk.info*

  • Where are your safety goggles, please?

  • this would be neat to do, but i know nothing about any of it...

  • you're hot

  • beautiful video!

Love is not a matter of counting the years. It's to make the years count.

    Greetings from Antwerp!

  • you are a crazy woman:)))

  • where do you buy your metals ?

  • Damn girl, your skillz are hot. If I was straight, I would be head over heels.

  • Hey everyone - if you love fashionable jewelry check out the donnaliza collection - it's affordable and looks real! Just search donnaliza on google and youll find it.

  • acetylene torch not settling

  • is it borax or boric acid i know what she said but i keep hearing both and i know that they ared different compounds

  • @panzuman borax

  • @panzuman Borax comes from the town of Boron in California and it's not been in the grocery stores lately, the factory, which mines Boron (a mineral for calcium uptake in the bones) there and calls their laundry whitening product Borax (but it's mostly Boron), keeps the entire town running and they are having serious factory union problems now and locked the employees out of work. I used Borax (in my laundry) for 35 years now. Boric Acid from pharmacies, kills cockroaches and used for eyewash.

  • i understand that i just didnt know what one to use

  • eye wash and kills cockroaches...OMG doesnt sound like I'll be usin eye wash

  • WOW,if i may ask,is that place where she isdoing this in a shop or in her Bedroom?,just thought i would ask. :-)

  • sucks i cant even buy that machine

  • make it, it shouldnt be to hard :)

  • TY hun tht was actually really helpful....

  • More useful than you are. I'm sure....

  • Nice Videos Thanx for the Info, Goldmantx

  • lol

  • how to make your own? yes because everyone has one of these casting machines mmmmmmmmmmm

  • @kaleluk31 yes....i do infact...xd

  • @TVAExtreme good for you but id say at least 8 out of 10 that come across this video will not own one

  • @kaleluk31 There's a bunch of make-up tutorials on youtube aswell, now since im not female nor extremely flamboyant & gay I should be complaining about them?

    Not everything applies to everyone.

And exactly like ''Shookings'' said, one is easily built by yourself.

  • @kaleluk31 Lol! That's exactly what I thought xD

  • @kaleluk31 Jasne, dla ludzi, którzy wszystkie narzędzia woleliby kupić w sklepie zamiast zrobić je własnoręcznie, jest to zdecydowane "mmmmm".

  • @3195121 ?

  • @kaleluk31 Nie pamięta się, co się pisało rok temu? Podpowiem, że to PL.

  • @3195121 i dont know what language our typing

  • @kaleluk31 I just have told you: PL, Poland, polish language.

  • @3195121 no actually, what you said was a load of polish language, then the "pl" at the end, cos i dont speak spolish i could asume that the PL was just a part of the sentence, since you can speak english and you could asume i cant speak polish, if you want to reply to me, youll need to speak english plz

  • @kaleluk31 My english is not as good as yours :P So, this tool or machanism is definetly DIY. When you prefer buy it than build it, you would be called lazy or unable to build that machine. Unable = with lack of mechanical skills. Why don't you use a translator? I think that google has a translator. And it's more fun than me vs. english or you vs. polish ;)

  • @3195121 to use a translator id have to have known what language you where speaking, and at the time i did not.

99% of comments on here are english so i cant be bothered to use some online gizmo and try figure out what 1 comment said in a forean language.

  • To cast silver the flame has to be a wide and soft and about 6 inches from the crucible, that will make a very good casting, and don't use boric acid the boric acid it's just to clean the metal before the casting, in the casting process you have to use borax.

  • Excellent video here thanks. I have a question for you though. With centrifugal casting, can you do complex shapes?

For instance, just as an example if you were making something with a W shape. And your sprue was attached to the center peak, would the left and right sides fill with metal? Or would you end up with a /\? Will the air on the left and right sides be forced out? Or would you need additional sprues?

Hope that question makes sense. Thanks!

  • Centrifugal casting can be used for very complex shapes. You would need aditional sprues. You would be better off using two sprues on the bottom of your w shape. As a rule of thunb you should never have parts of your model point backwards against the flow of metal. You should avoid right agles in your sprues too. You want the flow of metal to be as smooth as posible.

  • Thanks, that's what I figured unfortunately.

  • Does vacuum casting solve that problem?

  • She really should have protective gear on when she is casting.

  • How lame, all she did was melt some metal. She didn't even do the casting.

  • well, you have to melt metal before you cast it, so the title so far is correct. it does say 'part one,' after all. and it's not her fault that you're not listening to the other information she's giving you.

expervillage vids usually suck as far as i've seen, and i've seen my share, i think. they don't give you enough information and by the end the final product tends to magically appear from a poorly explained process.

this is one of the better EV vids if you ask me.

  • So this vid just sucks less than their other sucky vids.

  • as far as EV goes, this one is oscar worthy in comparison. most of the others are, as far as i can tell, a combination of ego-stroking and self-advertisement with little practical information given at all. not all, but there's apparently little quality control involved. they may be experts, but they ain't teachers, that's for sure.

  • ya Iam sur you did it wow go back to school

  • I'm really enjoying these videos! since I going to be studying Juwellery Design soon, I find these videos very interesting! good work!

  • what type of classe are u taking ???

  • why not use fine silver?

  • cuz fine silver isint stong like 925

  • "fine" silver? what is the meaning of "fine" here? please help! thanks !

  • Good videos. Kind of hard to find all the ones to put together in order, but good when ya do!

Such a tiny amount of molten metal is way too little to even hurt you even if it ignores the laws of physics & flys out of there :D Them people that are worried about your safety should have a gander at my videos! Now, that's SRSLY some dangerous stuff..

  • good video! poeple are mean!

  • quella centrifuga si usava 40 anni fa!

  • I've noticed that technical vids bring out rather vicious attacks. It is possible to be much more polite about making suggestions.

  • Five seconds? Why?

  • reefturkey, put up your own goddamn video

    if you aint happy

  • Make me one and I'l be your best friend!

  • questa è una centrifuga per la fusione dei cilindri.....ma è preistoica ora ci sono quelle elett

    roniche

  • I like it. I think there are a few heath and safety issues but good effort. I think you'd get a lot less criticism if you flashed your boobs at the end. But all said a good video.

  • Certainly not an expert by any stretch of the imagination.

This looks like an exercise in blatant egotism.

Use a script if you're trying to sound like what you're talking about Courtney.

  • ...then, there's your videos. One is of soldering a plate, and the other is melting gold. Very well scripted, I might add.

Blatant Egotism. I don't think so. It's a video on YOU TUBE for christ's sake!

  • cool.. could make slurpy in that thing.

  • What's not electric, the oxy torch? No one has said it is electric, its a mixture of oxygen and acetylene. If you think the flame produced by an oxy torch wont hurt your eyes then I'm afraid your the stupid one.

  • Katefromtas has it correct,I am glad that I don't work with you !!!!!

  • If by eye protection you mean the pair of Ray Bans she is wearing then I'm afraid this is not appropriate eye protection for carrying out work with an oxy torch. Disposable lighters should never be used when lighting a torch and put together with the fact she is wearing no suitable PPE she is quite the novice where health and safety is concerened.

  • Very nice, you can tell she's no novice...disposal lighters have been around and still on the market..and she did have eye protection !!!

  • she does have the glasses...

  • yikes major NO NO. GIRL WHERES YOUR HEAD???? get goggles! its not so expensive to get googles... damn...if you keep doing that technique without protection you are gonna get hurt for a small price.

  • thats so bad for your eyes when u light it up

  • I think see is trying to look tuff for her girlfriend by not using proper safety equipment.

  • As a jewelery teacher I'm disturbed by the total lack of safety awareness exhibited by the person here. NEVER use disposable lighters for lighting torches - they can explode quite easily.

She doesn't use any darkened eye protection which is vital with an oxy torch at that level

And she's got a bloody tank top on - no protection from flying molten metal which can occur even with the shield

I was hoping to use this with my students - and I will - as an example of BAD health and safety!!!
