Hearing no V8 growl, and instead the chirping of the blow-off valve when the car passes by is unsatisfying. A top flight modded Camaro should rattle your bones when it passes. It's like the electric motor swapped Chevelle I saw at the track. Looks badass then passes by with a cutesy wirrr sound. Disappointing.
So really to each his own, but at the end of the day the V8 has far more potential to make develop and deliver power over a v6, not by superior technology but simply by superior VOLUME as witnessed by top fuel hemi v8s cranking out more than 8,000 hp, something an automotive straight six will never do, nitro methane or not !
as you do not BYPASS all rules of engine theory and dynamics by simply adding a Turbo.
For example the 1997 Supra RZ (2JZ-gte) put out 276 hp @5600/ and 333 lb torque "@4000,
compared to the 1997 f-body (350LT1) which put out 275 hp @5000/ and 325 lb torque @2400
Now your hardly going to miss that 8 lbs of torque in the LT1 but your sure to notice that explosion of twisting force coming on at a stump pulling 2400 rpm vs waiting for impellers to spool up at 4000 in the 2jz. (Continued above)

@M3TurboE46 THat engine cannot hold no more horsepower then a 350, I got a 1973 nova ss with a 350 in it and im pushing almost 1000HP and im sorry but my car would eat that Camaro alive!! No im not the one who built it, my dad built it yrs ago the engine is older then i am and im runnig just under 9 secs in the quarter. And id put my car against that for pinks

Could've got more power, and considerably better sound from an LSx + Turbo application, and you'd probably get better fuel economy and spend less money too!
LSx > 2JZ sorry.
Interesting swap though... I'd just never do it.

its still a disgrace, a turbo ls1 will have a better powerband than any inline straight six japmotor. no disrespect to the rb's and 2j's but you shoulndt mix water and oil

GM sold the rights to the antiquated (but strong) to Toyoda in the 60's
In reality, the 7M and 2J families are based on the Chevy 235 Stovebolt

@UCFCamaroSS yea but the 2jz is more reliable...ive seen more people blow v8s then 2jz my friend had his 2jz for about 3 years now with 925hp an still running strong an he drives it almost everyday but i like v8s to but id go with a 2jz first
