My dad died when I was 8, this song reminds me of him a lot. I first heard the billy joel version on a cd of my dad's that my little sister had stumbled upon...even tho it made us both cry and me mad she went to bed every night for a year listening to that song... :'( and no I'm not crying...its summer and I'm sweating through my eyes...

This song always makes me cry. My mom died about 4 years ago and I'm only 12 right now. I miss her so much and it's so painful to think about her, but this song for some reason lifts my spirit and reminds me about her which makes me happy for some reason. Perhaps because the first thing that comes to mind are the happy times of when she was with me.

I love this song. One, it reminds me of my mother and two, usually i wouldn't cry for other sad songs but this song actually made tears come. Sometimes i think: How do people make these kind of songs? It's amazing how it gets stuck on your emotions and can make you cry,laugh,etc. I love this song.
