  • All of you people debating Hitler and whatnot on here are ree-diculous. This is one of the true classics of ska. Halt your infantile politicking and enjoy.

  • I heard "Get up in the morning, sleeping professor" the rest i could really understand ^-^

  • What I heard was "Get up in the morning sleeping fluorescent, so that every mountain be wed...

  • ok

I'm not a trained lyricist but this is what I hear...

jet up in da morning saving for bread surf,

so data every mountain beef head!

  • oo hoo-me ears are alight a quack for my kids a quack upon-a leaving darling she said I was just too 'PC' ooo hoo me ears are alight shot then I tear up, Chosen's a girl, I don't want to end up like funny ant-flies oo hoo--me ears are alight.. after you're stoned there must be a collard you catch me in a farm, you sown your holla! oo hoo-a pour! a pour! me ears are alight! jet up in da morning saving for bread surf so data every mountain beef head! oo hoo a whore! me ears are alight

  • t1

  • thumps up if u always thought he said 'my ears are a alight' :D

  • Not to sound like my own parents sounded to me, BUT, 45's were amazing. Back in them days you had the anticipation of hearing the song. You had to be careful when placing the needle on the vinyl. This created such respect for the medium. YOu get your songs immediately now, and I love that, as well. Still, it was magic back then.

  • Just can´t stop hear this song!

  • How can your religion be contained in your DNA? Defies logic really. There is no such thing as a religious child, only religious parents. A child wouldn't decide upon the value of Judaism as a natural course of its development. This stands for any religion.

  • The pops and the ticks of the 45 makes this. Forget cds in this case.

  • As replayable as the memories it brings!

  • This was the first 45 I ever bought!

    I was captivated!

It led me on a loved filled life for Reggae.

    It never stopped!

2 trips to Sunsplash........Steel Pulse is coming to town.

    Pure JOY!

  • In the old days of AM radio, it was almost impossible to understand many of the lyrics of this hit.

  • I remember playing it on the radio when it was popular...still one of my all time favorites...

  • 3 ppl are Palestinians.

  • @rowdymax1

The truth is, Hitler was a Jew. Google "Hitler DNA"

  • @dyad2r1 hey ignoramus, Judaism is a religious belief system, not an ethnicity. DNA has nothing to do with it, and none of this has anything to do with this song. Enjoy the music and leave the rest to yourself.

  • @askwhyz

Sorry, but DNA doesn't lie. Try doing some honest homework so you don't sound so ignorant.

  • @askwhyz het askwhyz, Judaism is passed on from mother to child. You can not 'become' jew, only if your mother is one. So DNA has everyting to do with it.

  • @Muskatier lol no. You are very incorrect.

  • Comment removed

  • @dyad2r1 also hitler wasnt jewish, that was a myth

  • @SmartAssLIVE

    DNA doesn't lie. Sorry.

  • @dyad2r1 but theres not even any DNA proof

  • @SmartAssLIVE - You clearly have a personal stake in Hitler's NOT being Jewish. What is it and why do you care so much?

  • @dyad2r1 i just dont want everyone to think that hitler was jewish when he wasnt, i think its offensive to jewish people

  • @SmartAssLIVE He was.

  • @headly66 if you look through the evidence, it says "may", so theres still no proof and since then no more research has been done, so they cant have been that sure.

  • @SmartAssLIVE WRONG - He had Jewish blood, simple as that.

Hitler's second most dominant haplogroup is the most common in Ashkenazi Jews.

  • @headly66 This is absolutly false. Read his biography by Ian Kershaw, there was not even one jewish family in Litz where he grew up.

The claim that he was jewish is totally unfounded.

  • Amen to that! I just returned from Israel and found the Jewish people to be beautuful and amazing! It certainly IS offensive that someone could even imagine Hitler was Jewish! Plus, how could he be when he had such HATRED for them?

    God bless.

  • @SmartAssLIVE Yes he was - been proven -

Saliva samples taken from 39 relatives.

A Belgian journalist and a historian tracked down the Fuhrer’s relatives, including an Austrian farmer who was his cousin in 2010.

A chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b1 which showed up in their samples is rare in Western Europe and is most commonly found in the Berbers of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, as well as among Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews.

  • Best 2 Top 40 songs about Israelites: This one...and "All You Zombies" by The Hooters, 1985...check it out!

  • Top 20 hit from spring, 1970...has it been 41 years already?...good times!

Also featured in the 1990 Gus Van Sant movie " Drugstore Cowboy" with Matt Dillon and a young Heather Graham

  • Ska...over a decade before this or Reggae ever hit the pop scene. This song wasn't big because it was trendy to act like a Rasta. It wasn't chic because everyone wanted to be "cool, mon." It was popular because it was a purely good, sincere and catchy piece.

Btw, as a child this was one of my first "favorite songs." I also had this exact 45 with the exact label. Thanks for the upload.

  • I need an overflowing spoon of dilaudid!

  • love this song!

  • Remember it like it was on my lil am radio yesterday...thanks for the post !

  • WHERE DID ALL THOSE YEARS GO? THIS WAS EARLY RAY-GAY -MU-ZAK!

  • now that's quality, bless you

  • DRUGSTORE COWBOYZ BIGGUP

  • I can't believe you can be having thoughts about the Middle East and the UN . How come you're not dancin' and trying to figure-out what this magic song can possibly be about, same as the rest of us.

  • The worst mistake the Brits and the UN ever made was establishing a Jewish state in Palestine. How could they not have foreseen that civil war was inevitable?

  • @dyad2r1 Yeah, normal people can see that. With the strangle hold the jews have on the USA, at the moment there is nothing we can do about it. Of course we all know that the USA created this mess beginning with Roosevelt, but the culmination of the rape of Palestine ended with the swipe of the pen of Truman. Literally. How nice that the world allows the USA to take the lands of one people and give it to another. What the hell? Does anybody here even remember this? Always the same with the USA.

  • @bryan760

    Well said.

  • I honestly don't get how anybody can click dislike, I can get how this isn't some peoples type of music but I actually thought it was impossible to actually dislike such an epic song by such a epic musician

  • This song reminds me and tells me, get the jews out of my lands. Palestine will rise again.

  • @bryan760 Got to learn to stop killing each other first, and its not your land, Jews have been there as long as you so deal with it !!!

  • @maxineflores Yeah, and the "modern" European, Russian, and USA jews killed the Arab jews as well. I guess it's easy to forget the truth as long as it suits your needs. Forget the truth as you wish, but realize, most people in this world will never forget.

  • @bryan760 The truth is relative to all, and youre right people will never forget and only those without skeletons in their closets can hold their heads up.... There are many people guilty of many things but arabs are the only people I see killing each other on a massive scale, suicide bombs are their speciality....get a life and get over it, theyre not leaving they have every right to be there so just suck it up and shut up !!!

  • @maxineflores Are you sure that Arabs are killing the most people, or is the media making it seem that way? Check out your world and see what's going on.

  • @bryan760 Oh so youre one of those are you, its all the media.... Ive lived amongst that life, I am extensively travelled so please dont think i am some idiot without knowledge. You and people like you are the reason why people spend so much time with their head in the sands saying, nothing to worry about its all the media. Youre wrong and you need to put down the weed and get out of your mothers basement !!!!

  • @maxineflores Sorry mate, but I am well educated about this history of this poor world. If you have a point then make it, otherwise please don't waste my time.

  • @bryan760 Firstly I am not your mate, secondly you dont sound educated, and thirdly I did make a point, but it seems youre just too stupid to understand. So here it is again just for you. Jews have been there as long as Arabs have and they arent leaving so get over it.... and Arabs will need to stop killing each other first to be any good to one another.... the differing tribes cant even get along so so just accept it and get on with your life !!!

  • @maxineflores I know you are not my mate, you are nothing to me. If you think I'm stupid, go on thinking it as I don't care what you think. Note well, the jews have no place in the Middle East, and Palestine will be free. If you never remember anything, you remember this. The Arab jews were treated as pigs by the European, Russian, German, (ETC) JEWS who came to Palestine. The Muslim Arabs have been treated just as bad. If you think this will last, think again.

  • @maxineflores Of course we all know that the USA created this mess beginning with Roosevelt, but the culmination of the rape of Palestine ended with the swipe of the pen of Truman. Literally. How nice that the world allows the USA to take the lands of one people and give it to another. What the hell? Does anybody here even remember this? Always the same with the USA. And BTW MATE, I have plenty of money and education, you have nothing on me. Trust me, I will help make the future. :-D

  • @bryan760 Are you still running your mouth, seriously though sssshhhhh no one is interested in your hateful clap trap.... now I have a life to get back to so I will let you get back to collecting rocks to throw over a wall or at a woman you think might be having unclean thoughts !!!

  • @maxineflores OK Maxine, we will keep quiet about all of this as it makes you feel better. Of course, you are number one and we don't dare question that. :-P

  • @maxineflores the original jews were Arabs mate. Did you know that? The white Euro trash that has taken hold of Palestine has nothing to do with history. Just the swipe of the pen of a USA president. How much longer do you think the world will allow this? Mate. Oh Maxine, you have been brainwashed.

  • @bryan760 Seriously though, obsessed much !! ssssshhhhhhh !!!!

  • gosh, i have the same UNI 45, great song, great singer

  • This is a fabulous, inspiring classic which reminds us that God made the israelites special in his eyes.I´m still trying to work out what he saw that was so special. As i am not as bright as that one I will just have to trust his/ her judgement.

  • I love this song!!it brings me a lot of positive energy ^^

  • One of the best reggae songs ever! <3

  • @metallicarulekieron Correction: This IS the best reggae song ever!

  • @CrazyFrog3512 I dunno, Wonderful World, Beautiful People by Jimmy Cliff ranks on up there, both popular in the late 60's. They both hit and played for weeks. I loved them both. I am thinking Jimmy was a smoother listen.

  • want more

  • *gasp* JEEW!!

  • Drugstore Cowboy brought me here to this GREAT SOUNDING SONG! Teriffic motion picture, I just got done watching it two days ago or yesterday I believe... HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

  • @mattyhasselhoff Real good flick...Matt Dillon played a convincing dilaudid-opiate popping junkie-thief..and Heather Graham overdosing cuz she left her "hat on ther bed"...classic scene.

  • Maybe the frst dub? Dance hall Dub? I Ja Mon. December 8th hold a hand bra he would like that ya?

  • Thanks for memories.

  • 5 STARS!!! WHY DOES THIS SONG PUT ME INTO AN INSTANT GOOD MOOD????? WHY AM I YELLING??? oh yeah-this song is up full blast-that's why I yell!!

  • This is a wonderful song. Heard it the other day on 106.7 FM Golden Oldies. I hadn't heard it in decades. Couldn't get it out of my head. Glad I found it here on Youtube. Awesome voice and definitely has a message. This is what I call REAL music!!!! Still fantastic after 40 years!!!

  • this is really beautiful

  • I lived in Liberia in 68-71 and this song was on the moneybus record player. Anyone who has lived there knows what I am talking about. I was a reggae fan waiting to be born and born I was. Any "kids" my age that went to the American School in Monrovia back then? (I am 56, Embassy affilliated, lived in Congotown) .So many moneybus songs...so many memories!

  • What a fantastic, fantastic song! They just don't get better than this. I've loved this song for FORTY YEARS!

  • Dynamit song!

  • Oooooh! Ooooooohooho! My Ears are Alight!

  • Respond to this video...

  • Miss this kind of authentic voice in pop music. Music and truth like breathing. They were pushed out by weasel producers and their fake celebrity pop stars.

  • lol congreatulations. How much this gramophone plate??? Very nice man

  • lol that s wery nice song

  • C'mon brethren stop hating on each other, and lose the self-aggrandization, for Yahweh's sake. Just dig the music and let El shadai God Almighty guide thee. And dig the tunes... Remind yourselves: Does Yahweh approve of what I do?

He will guide you, strengthen you, and lead you to your path.

I'm sure that your comment does reflect what you feel and what I have to say is

    'Son, you ugly inside.'

Poor me, the Israelite. Aah. My wife and my kids, they are packed up and leave me. Darling, she said, I was yours to be seen. Poor me, the Israelite. Aah. Shirt them a-tear up, trousers are gone. I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde. Poor me, the Israelite. Aah. etc.

Manceuk, thank you for posting the song & the words (boy did I have the words all mixed up - lol).Everytime I hear this song with that classic & unique background,I can't get over how much heart & soul Desmond Dekker poured into this recording. This song is a diamond that will never stop shining or ever lose its worth & appeal !!
