Awesome video with incredible hd sound and picture!..This was out back in 80 or 81, I was about 5-6yrs old and I still remember this Jacksons album we had @ home. Inside the album cover was a nice colorful photo of a peacock. My fav song on this album was Heartbreak Hotel. This was and still is some good music unlike most of today's music that sucks. 70's and 80's music was the best! Think I'ma have to head to Amazon site and order this cd and add to my collection! ;-)

i just really listened to the Essential Jacksons version of this song i got from iTunes. i was mistaken about the sound quality. it has obviously been remixed from the original and is excellent. they must have dubbed in the sound effects over the song for the movie.

They have reduced the tempo to emphasize their visual restoration so what may have been a great tribute is now a unfulfilling distortion of the artists original vision.

@sirdog78 i like this version better,,the sound quality seems greatly enhanced compared to the original. except for the loudness of the affects factor, which can probably be addressed, i think it sounds great. i just bought the original on iTunes, and i think this one sound better by far. maybe i just have to remix the original myself....it sounds like an old recording...even though it was released in 2004 on The Essential Jacksons....???

@BlueNeon81 Obviously you haven't watched it, and you have failed to realize that it is YouTube who did the re-encoding of both the audio and video. The file I uploaded was huge and the video was pristine, and the audio track was the uncompressed original. So any problems you are finding are due to YouTube's video and audio re-encoding process.

I fully understand the difference between the two types of compression. Audio compression (file size) algorithms DO alter the dynamics of the audio... one needn't apply a dynamic range compressor to hear the difference. Anything less than the original, untouched track is going to be different, obviously.
