Last time she did a fast she gained all her weigh back plus extra. If she is trying to lose weight this time and keep it off then all it takes is a change in eating habits. I have lost 2-3 lbs every week since I started for a total of 56 lbs I stopped eating fried and processed crap. I now eat plenty of fruits n veggies and baked fish,chicken, brown rice, whole grains etc. I eat alot and never feel deprived. My cholesterol is now at a healthy lvl as well. Dont "diet", just change your lifestyle.
I think you should go for a VLCD Liquid Protein fast. I did one for 11 days using Syntrax Nectar Protein (Isolate!) with 1 tbs (11g) of Chia or Basil Seeds 3x aday, plus a multivitamin and mineral tablet in the morning with the first serving. Altogether it should be around... Calories: 432. Protein: 74g. Carbs: 14g. Fibre: 11g. Fats: 10g. Potassium: 433mg. Sodium: 206mg. Calcuim: 66%,(NOT including the multi-vits & mins tablet)
Ha, yes it's true a lot of women are pros at fasting, obviously because many think they can lose weight that way. But it always helped me feel better so that's why I do it. I just read your other comments, so you're a raw foodist! Awesome. I'm Vegan and am considering it.
Yeah if she really just wants to do a fast for a short time I understand, but I think she's looking for a different way to lose weight.

I thought she really only wants to lose weight now, so something like, you can eat as much raw vegetables and fruits as you want would be ideal. Or no?
The best way to take control and lose weight once and for all is to slowly transition into a healthy lifestyle. That includes unlimited greens fruits, minimal animal proteins, more seeds, nuts and legumes. Also include physical activites (walking) min 3 times weekly. That's it. There is no point in restricting yourself any longer. The same cycle is going to occur. You just have to be ready to take control of your life then everything will follow. Don't take the easy way out. It never works.
I agree! There has to be a forth option. You could at least try a raw food fast. Which is not exactly a fast. But yeah, whatever you do, diane0888 hit the nail on the head. :)

all fruit i say for a few months, then fast again. i like the 10 day program for maintenance. I hope your low cal diet is working well.

Fruit fast works but you have to be careful. The acid in the fruit is killer. It can really mess with your stomach.

dont do a water fast anymore... you will just gain all the weight back and more.. i think you should do a low calorie diet

Low calories, because you can have anything you want and deal wit cravings as they come along. I'll do it too.
