@trubritar I'm thinking of ordering this exact case. One thing I'm concerned about is the way the power supply is mounted. I have a Corsair AX 1200 and it weighs a ton! Do you think the aluminum is strong enough to hold the PSU with the 4 rear mounting screws? Did your case come with any support brackets to secure the PSU?

Trub, great review, as usual! Got a quick question for you. I have the Ascension CYO and the Asus P6T7 WS Supercomputer MoBo. I have the E-ATX mobo tray with the rear panel and I/O panel (7-slots). I am planning to run 4-way SLI but the 4th card doesn't have a "slot" for the air to flow out because the I/O panel only has 7 slots. Does MM make a custom I/O panel or can I use the 10-slot I/O panel w/back plate in conjunction with the E-ATX mobo?

I have the monticle 24, just bought it and its very well built. only gripes ive had is the power supply mounting is up the top, and with the monticle if you opt for a quad 120mm fan top you cant put the last fan in with the power supply there. What i had to do was flip the back panel around but with doing that i also had to esentially put the motherboard upside down...Kind of a pain in the ass but oh well it fits now.

Why don't you use an internal radiator setup? also i noticed in your videos that you use dyed coolant so how often do you clean your waterblocks out with gunk inside them?

When I look at this case there isn't the allocation of a cut out on the back panel for a second PSU, the space for 3x120 radiators looks too tight. In this excellent video the water cooling has to be located externally. I'll stick with the Extended Ascension.

I absolutely love mountain mods cases... only problems I see with them is 10 screws needed to keep the panels on distract from the beauty of it, a way to slide on the side panels would be nice, and also alot of modding is needed to have good cable management otherwise hidding cables is almost impossible... oh and your computer needs more SLI connectors for your water blocks and less tubing you must have one hell of a pump going

Amptac's 1000W Pyramid is an amazing PSU.. i never even stressed it with my core i7 920 @4.5GHz, 2 x GTX 280's in SLI, 6 Hard Disk Drives, and 2 Blu-ray drives...

Very nice case but that's what MM stands for quality. But 400 euro's without P&P to send it to Europe for "just" another big case is just to expensive. The CoolerMaster HAF X has the same amount of room inside to accommodate a htpx board but lacks the amount of watercooling openings but I don't like water cooling so don't mind and is twice as cheap (only 170 Euro's incl P&P).

So this case is for those with to much cash but it is very nice and well built that's a fact.

I got mountain mod ascension from mountain mod. They charged me twice the amount of the shipping fees for ireland than it actually was from us postal service. You will be spending more on its modular parts essentially for hhd cage. It is not tool less design and really hard to get good cable management in it even for pros. Not recommended for someone who is building pc for first time. Better of with lian li cases.
