That one used a bag (which I didn't completely care for) and there was a component that was broken but they had a makeshift repair on it. I think that because the bag acts as a holding area for the smoke is the reason for the 'second hand hit' impression. the device that you are using the

I went to SSV website to check on their product. It seems to be worth the investment and I'll probably own one by the end of the year. I first got wind of vapes back in '07 and a buddy of mine told me how he got totally 'fuuuh-cked up' on just a 'vaped' hit of mids. The fact that the amount of trichhomes was maximized really impressed me.
@budhunter09 I wasn't able to try a vape until 2 years later when I moved to LA and was a hole-in-the-wall dispensary and I got to sample some of my purchase. I think that there were a number of less than favorable factors that colored my impression of the experience. I went to the SSV website and looked around. @budhunter09 Nice. Way to keep an open mind. These days the SSV is a nice price. (lower than I paid) and though other cheaper whip style vapes like the "Hotbox" also use a whip with a simple direct ceramic heater,.... the HotBox can only heat up. It's got no gauge of any kind. So it heats up, gets really hot after awhile.... and has not settable range. Which is a huge problem. Especially these days I think the SSV is a perfect high quality yet affordable. Mine is three years strong.
@budhunter09 And I've had a dog knock it on the floor, I've banged the whip on the heater's glass numerous times(I TRY TO BE SAFE) I've fallen asleep with it on low-med numerous times. It's always on in the morning, and it always works. It's lasted over three years. AND WHEN the ceramic heater dies, i can just REPLACE THE HEATER, not the whole unit. In that way it's really affordable. Let me know how it goes for you. ^_^
@fatphillmargera new vapair models are fine from what I've tested. I wouldn't get anything like that because I like this STYLE of vape better. HOWEVER, if it came down to a portable vape I WOULD BUY the right one that contained plastic. So long as it wasn't cheap. Keep in mind, food grade plastic is fine for hot liquids and such.
So I'm not anti-plastic. But if I can avoid it in the unit I will.

smoking anything is bad for your lungs. vaporizers make it so you just get pure THC and it literally no negative effects. smoking a blunt or out of a bowl is still bad for your lungs but the cannabinoids actually help prevent tumors and lung cancer. in a bong, the water helps filter out the carcinogens. much better for your lungs.
Hashy, I respect your knowledge and I need some advice. I have heard SSVs at times turn one's stash into virtual dust that gets down in the wand and in the tubing in a big way. This depends on the quality of the stash, the better it is the more the dust. With all of that in the wand and tubing do you think there can be concern about the dust getting into the lungs. It's not smoke but it's dusty. Your thoughts? Peace!

Its the third one down. It talks about how cannabinoids cause hypertension(which is a form of high blood pressure). And cannabinoids come from both vaporizing AND smoking.

So I just went and checked. LOL! READ CLOSELY NEXT TIME :P It's HYPOTENSION. Which is low blood pressure. A good dose of exercise or meditation will also cause lowered blood pressure. Hypertension is not the same are hypotension. Read a little more carefully next time. ;)

I have an SSV, and love it, I use it everyday. it was around $3-400 but completely worth it. you cant cheap out when gettin a vape. the cheap ones are made of plastic and are toxic or just suck... imo the SSV is the best, but i like the vape bros and the volcano as well, anyway peace n love brothers n sisters

@SunDown419 At that temp you are just below smoking temps. I would lower it to around 280-320. Play around in that area. You'll notice the hits will be smoother. At 380 it's quick, but too high IMO
@HashyBee hashy is right, because vaporizing temp is at 350. you shoudl lower to 330, or 340, or even lower if your bud isnt dense. if its dense really really dense, then put it at 330+ but under 350.

get a vaporizer with a digital display of the temperature on it . this knob is too imprecise on the SSV . ideal temp. for vaping most strains is 392 F.

Though when I used mine I rarely ever put it past 390f. Often I stuck with 375-385F. I know you've got your own opinion. But IMHO, it's unfair to just say it's too imprecise. For who? You? Have you tried it. Because I do just fine. It's really not that complex to learn where the best temps are. It's not like a HotBox. You CAN adjust it very well.

Vapes are ridiculously efficient. I only take little one hits these days when I don't feel like cutting up a bowl and vappin' With my vape though I can vape WAY less then a joint. @budhunter09 Nice. Way to keep an open mind. These days the SSV is a nice price. (lower than I paid) and though other cheaper whip style vapes like the "Hotbox" also use a whip with a simple direct ceramic heater,.... the HotBox can only heat up. It's got no gauge of any kind. So it heats up, gets really hot after awhile.... and has not settable range. Which is a huge problem. Especially these days I think the SSV is a perfect high quality yet affordable. Mine is three years strong.

It's always on in the morning, and it always works. It's lasted over three years. AND WHEN the ceramic heater dies, i can just REPLACE THE HEATER, not the whole unit. In that way it's really affordable. Let me know how it goes for you. ^_^

@fatphillmargera new vapair models are fine from what I've tested. I wouldn't get anything like that because I like this STYLE of vape better. HOWEVER, if it came down to a portable vape I WOULD BUY the right one that contained plastic. So long as it wasn't cheap. Keep in mind, food grade plastic is fine for hot liquids and such.
So I'm not anti-plastic. But if I can avoid it in the unit I will.

This depends on the quality of the stash, the better it is the more the dust. With all of that in the wand and tubing do you think there can be concern about the dust getting into the lungs. Vapped cannabis is an incredibly safe medicine. Also look at the study, you were wrong once, and now you're compounding it. Low blood pressure isn't a problem when it's within a safe range. many relaxing activities can lower blood pressure. Furthermore you're wrong about the general effects, it briefly raises, then lowers pressure.

@xXDomeXxYungXx Yes briefly but not much, and it dissipated VERY quickly. So for the student trying to stay under the radar at college, or the "kid" who's 18 and just hasn't moved out of his parents house yet vapes are an excellent way to keep things discrete.
It smells a little better than burning pot. I love sniffing the bowl part way. But there is not much smell at all. I could vape in my living room and you can't smell it in the kitchen.

It's simple really......But most people don't make anything these days. So I assume you're maybe a little bit mechanically/ technically inclined than most?
This is, even the SSV Co. sells parts. Get a heater(from them or elsewhere) some other parts, and you're good to go.

Though when I used mine I rarely ever put it past 390f. Often I stuck with 375-385F. I know you've got your own opinion. But IMHO, it's unfair to just say it's too imprecise. For who? You? Have you tried it. Because I do just fine. It's really not that complex to learn where the best temps are. It's not like a HotBox. You CAN adjust it very well.

I agree cannabis is a medicine, but I disagree its a safe recreational drug. People are different, for some people its safe and for others it can cause mental problems according to vunerability etc.

@gypsykatcher30 SIGH. Do you realize what you`re talking about? Cannabis may not be ideal for every last person on earth, for every condition. But it's more useful than ANY MEDICINE, based on the FACT that it can be used for over 200 Ailments.
Not 12. Not 3. Not 36. Over 200. With minimal side effects. That alone combined with no chance of death puts it FAR AHEAD many commonly prescribed medicines. I <3 Pharmacology.... REALIZE how much negative science comes out related to prescriptions?

@gypsykatcher30 Marijuana is the SAFEST of rec drugs. What would you like to compare it to FAIRLY. The opium popppy? Peppermint? As far as plants go, in terms of something people seek(medication, or just the medicated effect(REC users) Marijuana seems to be about the safest most balanced drug you could chose. Tell me something comparably pleasant that's TRULY SAFER? I know all about the "legal highs" And there's nothing. People wont smoke blue lotus. I know of others, but nothing compares. S+E

Vapes are ridiculously efficient. I only take little one hits these days when I don't feel like cutting up a bowl and vappin' With my vape though I can vape WAY less then a joint. And it's often more than enough. I'm going to do a future vid about that and many other aspects of vaping. But I'm telling you bro you will save TONS of $ And kick. Shit some friends need to be warned that they should expect to be VERY stoned. No shit. You have to ease into it. And when I get new bags I start low.

Don't get me wrong though. NEVER in my life have I EVER been "too stoned" So stoned I fell asleep when I didn't want to, so stoned I ate something my GF was saving(or that's the excuse? :P) but I've never been too high/medicalized.
That being said I can take EASILY way less than a 1/3 of a joint and that's fine for me. I can share that with a friend. Or add a little more. A great option is to TRY some, even at a vapor lounge. We have them in Van. If you're in CALI , I bet you could find one.

I can't afford a vaporizer so I'm making one with a light bulb, looks easy and affordable.
Vapo was all I need. Save weed and cut down the smell and it'd be safe.
