yeah.. pretty much. but these days i don't often use both the mixer AND the pre-amps.. just one OR the other. i try to use the valve pre-amps for vocals, they just sound warmer.
working 12 hour days.. playing lots of gigs.. teaching lots of kids.. and buying most of it either on ebay or in the music store i work at with my staff discount.
your mixer should have mic pre-amps built in. i use valve mic pre-amps instead of a mixer. but if you meant some other form of sounds shaper like an EQ or compressor, i prefer to do that after i record the raw audio.
Those pre amps, what brand and how much were they? I'm new to recording so I'm gonna ask this. Why have two? Wouldnt one be fine since your mixer is going to it, so you just compress it with one. But I'm new to this :P
Thats cheap but nice tube Berhigner Mic 100. But the preamps used for the mics are the mixtable preamps and the mix is done into the mixer then he sums the master bus (L/R) of the mixer to the two mono preamps which add warmth and then he recover the L/R and enter in his soundcard...
hmm.. good question, i think i randomly picked one of the vid's that i'm playing drums in and figured it must have been episode 5. you're the 1st person to pick me up on it.. lol
cheers mate. ive been wondering wer 2 start with mic ing up the drums n how 2 get it through my computer. iv been lookin at some behringer mics already. thanks.
