@pesnyaozemle Thanks! Although Zimbabwe is heard quite often here, it has become a rather hard catch since they use 10 kW only. Usually, the signal is too weak to understand anything. I remember the times when ZBC was booming in on 3306 and 4828 kHz around 1995 with their new 100 kW transmitters...
Great catch with the 2001D it really is impressive the low noise floor you get with the 30m longwire I remember reading somewhere about how east the 2001D can get its sensitivity damaged when connected to a big antenna it would be best to make sure there is no storms but having said that I take that precaution with all my equipment keep the videos coming cheers Mark
@MARKGM20877 Thanks Mark... This DXpedition was the first time that I tested the 2001D with a longwire antenna. I had to switch on the attenuator because without it, the Sony overloaded heavily, even with 10 m of wire. With the wire extended to 30 m, the signals were just about right with the attenuator switched on. I think in the future I'll use the 2001D only with the telescopic antenna. The Sangean 909X copes much better with longwires. Cheers Matthias
Great catch ! Recently Zimbabwe on 4828 is also audible in Japan but signal is even worse than yours.
