Anyone got any clue when Everquest and other SoE services will be back up again, when I try to log into the game it gives me the same old message from May 2nd. It's nothing nothing has changed as far as finding who did it and an ETA when the services will be back up and running.

i think the hackers should face some kind of punishment, i mean i myself along with billions of subscribers actually work hard everyday to earn their money to play games like everquest. I am an everquest player with gold membership($14 a month) and i trully love the game and the fact some pussy hacker wants to screws hit up should have everything stripped from him. i just feel bad for those who pay platinum which is $200 a year and dealing with this. Its trully tragic. I am really not happy.

it can easily be thought of as a kind of virtual terrorism if this sort of stuff can be done to a company that makes money from supposedly having a secure datatbase etc storing lots of content etc what can be said about the security of other things which may be more important. safe to say the hackers arnt terrorists as such but it can still be viewed as just that

tbh, there isn't much we can do about hackers, some of these guys can hack the military, things like the pentagon, and they have all the latest stuff. What can a company like sony do?? I agree they should have had more protection, but if a hacker wants to get in, they will. :(

Hmm I just called S.O.E. on the phone to find out stuff. And To Be Honast it Was Very Freaky. They Are More Secretive Than PSN Was When I Called Them So I Thiink Theres More Going On There Than P.S,N. So I Think We P.S.N. Users Might Be Somewhat In Better Shape Than We S.O.E. Users. Its Scary. I Fear The Worst For Sony.

Yes hackers are less than scum, but with that said ... Sony continues to use servers and server programming with known vulnerabilities. Hackers should be routed out and punished, but it is also the reponsibility of the company (in this case Sony) to protect it's client's information data base by using the latest equipment and software to evert the attempts by hackers. Reguardless of what sony tells us, it has been a known issue with Sony for quite some time now, that Sony does not do this.
