What does this have to do with religion? Don't get me wrong its a good video and I don't agree with Plato on everything he said but he was the first philosopher I was exposed to and I enjoy reading him.
@Sewblon look, im not religious but i know that there is a creator. jesus is a good example of what this has to do with religion. lets say he expirienced reality (god), and tryed to explain everyone what reality (god) is like. there wernt, and there still are no words to describe reality because the word itself isnt real. he knew this and tryd to explain his expirience but he failed ... as we can see.
one cant find god in a book. its hard to understand but you have to find god inside yourself.
Well, if you believe in god, you might want to try rereading the Allegory again. You are still chained to the cave floor. god is but one link in the chain that must be broken in order to experience truth.
@jscanyon no, god is real because we are real. we are god. how could you not believe on yourself? god isnt an imaginary magic man in the sky, he is you. Accepting the responsibility of being your own god is the only way to start breaking the links.
@Sewblon
It's called Philosophy and Religion because when Plato did this philosophy, he partially described his notion of God in it.

God says
8 All things are full of labor; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
