I think I'm going to get a dog from the shelter this April. I'd really like to get an older one, I have one in mind that was saved from being euthanized by a shelter, and one that's getting euthanized in three days :'( I feel soooo guilty that we didn't get it but I'm not sure if I'm ready for a dog. I'm mostly worried about the dog dying which will create so much mysery and guilt for my family. We would take good care of it... But what if it dies in our care from previous expreiences?

I adopted my dog from the animal shelter too. I don't think I'll ever get a dog from anywhere else.

This is awesome. Both of my 2 dogs are rescues. They make the best companions. I only wish more people support these wonderful no kill places like humane society or rescue groups. From now on I will only adopt from the shelter too. Best way to go.

I have always adored dogs :) it is such a rewarding feeling and they make amazing companions :) I have never owned a purebred dogs only mutts for me! :)

if only the lined up for mutts and the big doggies :( ... dont buy from pet stores if you

do buy aimals (products dont matter) from a pet store you support animal cruelty!!!

and feed your dog raw food not that kibble and canned crap. blue dog food is not

good either thay kill the nutrients and thehealthy stuff!!!

My mom and I went to the adoption center yesterday, and we adopted one!!! :) She's so cute and it was great.. she looked pretty depressed but she perked up when i took her out to play. and yeah alot were depressed, they looked happy to see people in there though...it was kinda sad. Anyone who wants a dog needs to adopt them from these places!!!
