  • Hip hop industry is always gonna be homophobic, that's just the way it is, deal with it or become an rnb artist instead.

  • That's so true

  • yeaaaaaaaaaaaa m83!

  • Tell them!!!! And whenever it's being said that an artist might be gay (male) there's a big prob.... I just wish that we could have a gay singer who's big. That would show people it's ok to be gay and a rapper.

  • Trooooooooooooooo

  • By the way I too have tried several times using the 'Track ID' facility of my new fancy Sony Ericsson smart phone - but to no avail - what is the name of this god damn track!! Could be something by Wale? Is it called 'Clear For Lift Off'? I thought it could be "Gigi D'Agostino - Marcetta", "Sopreman - Muovi il Collo" or even "Behind The Sun - Sgt. Slick & Rob Pix feat. Bright White" - any closer? Ah well - great intelligence shown in the youth of today - well done Xem!!!

  • Well done Xem - as usual very thoughtful and provocative video - you are absolutely right - white suburban youth and GLBTQI audiences have always been the 'invisible' support' of the black music industry and artistry - if those two communities stopped buying Rn'B, HipHop, Dance/Club music - many of the young under 30 'artists' of today would not be able to keep a roof over their heads - or buy and live in those out of the black neighbourhood 'cribs' - maybe those communities should boycott them.

  • i do

watch tv sometimes...its enough that most of the people in the media are white, too talk about black people, then black people are goin around sayn this can't be too, discriminating too? come on

whateva, whoeva you are, if you tryin too get in the music industry, it should be about "talent only"

  • i believe its still discrimination in this country.. and us black people don't see it, cause most of us, is bribe by money and wud do anything!! no no i think its wrong if you gay you gay, if you straight you straight, if you have talent you have talent, no matter what race you are..

  • ok, im a female stud, and i like girls only, why when a black famous person is gay its a big deal, in a bad way? why can't they be eqaul too... ellen degenerous success? why do people think there successful career will go down the drain?... lance bass and clay Aiken was on tyra and all the girls love him.. why can't sumone like ne-yo if hes gay or bi.. come out and say im gay, plastered on the magazine without negative reviews?...

  • This was a great video. Keep up the good work man. You spoke the truth on this video .

  • Men + Girl = Perfect

Gay + Gay = System Error

  • what song is that at the end of yo videos i like :)

  • your a faget

  • You better preach! People "say" they want honesty, but they can't handle it. And when the chips are down and everything's on the table, you will truly see the true colors. It's sad that people shun homosexuals, maybe because of their own insecurities. I feel that we all have to live on this earth, rather we like it or not we should get along.

  • wale shouldnt even try to cancel shows has he seen his album sales

  • Society hypocrisy period smh you can be gay as long as you're a woman wth love the blogs brother and thank you for responding back to my email much love xem from robert in chicago

  • Very well spoken

  • this is so true because this they American treat LGBT Community regradless of race this is the way it is

  • Thats so true if any of top black music males star come out its going to be alot of trouble and going to lost a money and fans.

  • Well said Xem.

  • there are problems with humanity that Everyone has to contend with. so when these jackasses are ready to get over their insecurities and fears and get on board with the rest of the world maybe we can move on.....who am i kidding lets move on with or without dem homophobes.

  • yes it is sad that some urban , and over time xem it will change , you must understand it took long time for urban community to understand why some white guys go crazy over urban men.

  • Definitely preach on. People need to see that being gay should NOT be seen as a negative thing in any industry. It's really horrible that there is such a double standard in our society that a man can't be sexy and gay but let two females bump and every man wants them to be their 'little freak'. It all boils down to us living in such a patriarchal heterosexist society.

  • fuck Wale and i said it

  • What is that song at the end

of all the videos? I love it! I need on my playlist

  • This was well spoken!

  • That's Right! Snap for the Kids Xem!

  • wow thank you never heard of you but i subbed based on this video alone. thank you for putting it out there!

  • great message

  • xem.honestly you kept it real.the black community honestly is a destruction in its self.not only because of the hyper masculinity obsession and homophobia..bt because we constantly tear each other down.especially over sexuality and skin tone so sad.and whats sad is hip hop and rap artists biggest supporters are white people.black people do not buy cds they bootleg white people are the majority of sales.yet artist cater to that particular closed minded crowd.honestly i think wale made a a mistake

  • XEM PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE NAME OF THE SONG AT THE END OF THIS VIDEO IS... I WANT TO BUY IT!!!

  • @nygndanyc uk artist sam sparro, black and gold. get the whole cd its good / different

  • I agree. We have to refuse to support those who don't support us. Why give more power to people who dislike us?

  • xem the gay voice thru manstream music... will be heard... and im gonna make sure i do it!!!

  • well when his numbers drop... he will realize just how much of his following is from the LGBT community and soon to follow will be some crap job public apology.

  • I'm an openly gay black RandB recording artist, and this is precisely the reason y I don't have a great appreciation for hip hop, most ppl assume becuz i'm a black man that hip hop means the world to me, wish is the exact opposite for me personally, the black hip hop community needs to stand up and stop being cowards

  • Yall better speak. Jesus aint nothing but the NEW MASSa to us folk of color its a damn shame.... we got our people lookign down at Africna traditional practices which deal in SPIRIT and yet we quick to catch the Holy ghost in a minute! Hot mess...

  • this is so true, im glad you said something on that matter, and also, what was that song on the end, that was a hot joint

  • this is so true, im glad you said something on that matter, and also, what was that song on the end, that was a hot joint

  • Xem I was with you 1000% on this post. Once again you killed it with another thought-provoking topic. I'm sure like many celebrities who's careers go down the toilet, he'll be crawling to the gays for sympathy. By then I say it's too little, too late.

  • hello!

  • and most of the discrimination i got for being gay, came from "thug" black guys. they try to hard to play this tough straight roll. it looks ridiculous!

  • ya if i were black id be pissed. white people forced christianity on black people during slavery times and to this day you see all these black people who are conservative homophobic christians! you can be spiritual and not follow that primitive book!

  • WHO THE HELL IS WALE?

  • Reason why male sexuality is not as open is because women hold the definition of beauty. So more of them in a bedroom is hotter to men and even women. For some reason society views male sexuality as animalistic and not as beautiful as our female counterpart. In many societys women are held to the light for their over all beauty. While a male is held to the light for his strength, courage and over all masculinity. Usually people refer to beautiful objects as "women".

  • Great Points as usual Xem and I agree 100%

  • beautifully said......let em know hun!

  • Speak Xem - educate these fools!! :)

  • you make good points

but can i say that some ppl homophobia stems from the bible which forced upon blacks...so you can really say that white are more tolerant ....tbh they are more sugar coated about the subject

i dont think wale has a problem of with lbgt...i think it is his straight male following and pr people

i think black boy do have a destructive hyper masculinity ...which may be because of absent fathers so they learn how to be a man through the media

  • @aylix89 the Bible has always been forced upon black Americans. kno your history people, Christianity was given to you to induce an obedience from slave to master...and the same exists thru this day.

    Get Free.

  • @HowardLester "know my history " what part did i get wrong because i dont really understand much about the slaves and the bible and how it affect us today

  • @aylix89 the kno your history wasn't a personal attack against you, it was jus a general statement. it wasn't my intention to be personally offensive. it was jus the watermark in my comment that others would read (who needed to) and get familiar.

    you're good.

  • Thats what Im talking about. Preach about stuff that nobody havent talked about yet. That whole vision of a man is what lead many young individuals to become in a depressed state or comment suicide and stay in the closet and live a lie. Thank you for the video Xem Xem Bear, lol. They're always enlighting.

  • if this video was shown to every person in america, it would probably change the world.

  • @gearhead291 amen

  • get it together america...stop the hate and get it together!!!! we ain't gonna be here forever...spread love not hate!!!

  • Also about Kanye, after he spoke up for the LGBT community look what happened to him. Southpark even smashed him with a gay fish soundtrack for the show. Its dire consequences being a man and standing up for the gay community. It takes away from your masculine bravado. And raises questions about your personal life. This is exactly why male artist never want to even look at an LGBT crowd.

  • As far as homophobia being in hip hop. Men are thought since children that anything remotely affectionate towards the same sex is considered a NO, NO. I remember when I was young my father gave me a whooping cause I was playing with my sisters barbies. We are thought around our social construct that women can venture off into other areas of gender roles whereas men have only a set boundary. Even some lesbians/Gays don't want to see men cross that line.

  • preech bruher

  • I Completely Agree Xem. I don't necessarily think its because of homophobia, a lot of times these male artists are afraid of being called gay just because of them performing at a pride event. Stereotypes portray a big part in the black society, & someone has to break that cycle. As For Females, they're more affectionate than men, so they would be naturally more accepting. Beyonce knows that half of her album sales, are gay men. Mariah knows that. so, they support us, like we do them.

  • intellegence is so sexy

  • Another AMAAAAZING video from my favorite xemmy bear! You have such a way with words & expressing the truth that so often no one else mentions. I have been such a major fan since like FOREVER xemmy and I can't wait for your next video. Every time I watch you, I get upset when I see the little timer getting to the 9 minute mark. lol

  • Wale is crazy he doesn't know how much money he just took out of his own pocket with his BS......SMH

  • true. dance hall reggae is even more blatantly homophobic so that its sickening.

  • Females in the music industry who "CLAIM" 2 be bisexual are "BULLSHITTERS", they know it's a turn on for straight men and lesbian women and they know its' an overall boost to the "IMAGE" their record company are trying to portray. Pop stars like, lady gaga, Nicki Minaj "KNOW" what they're doing with this this "HEY Y'ALL" I'm "BISEXUAL, NONSENSE" they know people will BUY into it and know it's now the "IN" thing to do...they more people they appeal too the more cash they make...plain and simple.

  • nicki minaj is a lesbian?

  • Oh wow, who sing's the song@the end of this video...I like it!

  • @KEKELELEtv

yaasssssss, i need to know that song too! lol

  • @jaybee316 Jeramy Bailey - Flying High

  • @KEKELELEtv Sounds like an alternate version of Sam Sparros' "Black and Gold"

  • Artists do this because some gays have such a longing to be apart of the 'mainstream' community, they wouldnt never go so far to stop supporting a mainstream artist..so the artist have no consequence from there action. Like Jamaica's tourism system, when the officials started actin shady to the gays, the gay stop comin to their resorts and spending their money and it effect their profits. They retracted those negative statements toward gays. Stop support them and they will stop disrespecting us

  • Most of those artists that project hatred towards gay people are secretly bisexual or on the DL anyways! These people need to be exposed for the cowards and hipocrits that they are!

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Exposed? Who are you to intrude into someone's personal life? Would you like it if someone just announced your whole financial background as well as your personal account access as well as bank statements and personal where abouts? This is insane, just because someone lives a hyporcritical lifestyle contrary to popular belief does not give you the gift of gab to intrude into their personal journey in life.

  • @revemupman In no way or fashion did Wale show any offense to the gay community. Just because he chose to cancel his performance? And he even came with a reason why he did not perform. Rather that excuse was legit or not is not the case. He clearly said that he wanted more time with his family. Even if Wale is homophobic he didn't just out and say forget gay people.

  • @revemupman FIRST OFF!!! He said he has "family obligations". Then later, he stated he "didnt know it was a gay event". So..What does that conclude? PLZ explain it to me. cause apparently, everyone & myself is reading into it incorrectly & your the spokes person for WALE. SO, let us know MR. informant!

    -D

  • @cybic2k Well SECOND OFF, even though he didn't give clear excuses as to why he isn't performing does not entail you to simply destroy this man's reputation simply cause he does not CHOOSE TO peform at a gay event. Get over it, its just a bum ol rapper. This is the same guy that women are mad about because he dosen't display dark skin women in his video's. If you don't agree with their agenda, all the sudden you turn into hitler himself.

  • @revemupman THIRD OFF!!! I dont care for his music.. & frankly i cant even name one song he has rapped about. If you think so LOW of this rapper, then why are you sitting here commenting about something you CLEARLY didnt do your research on? He ruined his reputation when he made those two statement & countless other statements on his twitter account (@Wale). Research & get back to me.

    -D

  • @cybic2k Theres no need to do research. He canceled cause he is not interested in attending that event. Thats HIS decision, respect it and hire someone else for the job.

  • @revemupman Like i said before, i dont care for him as & artist. AS A PERSON, i will call it like i see it. & he took the liberty of stated it in his own words. Since your backing him so hard, how about you advise him to do some research on events/ concerts he accept to perform at, so he dont make a fool of himself when he has to cancel. Thank You in advance PR!

    -D

  • @revemupman I guess I didn't make my point clearer... I am speaking of 'exposing' these homophobes who promote hate and fear of gay but they are on the DL! I agree that if one wants to keep their sexual business private; that's their choice but if you are a celebrity or even someone on the block that spews hatred and negativity towards gays, when they are gay; THERE ASSES NEED TO BE EXPOSED! That's my opinion and I am sticking to it!

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Hyporcracy will always exist, rather exposing these people or not. Personal sex lives should not be exposed reguardless if the person is living contrary to popular belief. You believe what that person says is until THEY say otherwise.

  • @revemupman I really don't have to expose anyone because God and the universe has a way of doing that anyway. What is done in the dark, will always come into the light (EXPOSED)! So, if you have a problem with that, you talk to the creator of the universe on that one because this will always be!

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Exposing someone's private journey to come out can lead to dire consequences, even thoughts of suicide may occur. Coming out should be under the individuals control. No one should be forced out of the closet.

  • @slimsxyblkwoman Im mad your over here talking about exposing "DL" artist, lol. You have a black book & recorded messages to release to the press? Who's first on the List? NeYo? lol. We all know there are DL artist & sports players.. No one really cares, until they come out. We live in a word where sometimes a lie is better than the truth.. its unbearable!!! So no.. i dont believe in exposing anyone, lol. Leave @revemupman alone, lol ahah

    -D

  • Give me MORE! Love it!

  • this is why Xem VanAdams is my Idol!

  • great video Xem...for some reason it's alwayz sexy for a man to see someone like Nicki Minaj who is bi-sexual because it's creates the fantasy of seeing two women being intimate...but once it's 2 men...no one wants to see it...i think this is something that may not change in our lifetime...but anything is possible...i guess

    much luv

    jo-nathan

  • Yea... I am actually surprised that Kanye is so for the gays. Its almost out of character for him based on what I see from his public image. GO HIM!!!

  • Great point! Great video! #truth

  • I think it is wrong to automatically assume Wale didn't go because he's homophobic. Maybe he really was tired and didn't want to attend. This is what scares me about the gay agenda. You can't do anything remotely offensive to the gay community or they'll spit their agenda in your face and call you a biggot.

  • @revemupman welcome 2 america catch 22

  • Wale is an idiot but who cares. Soon enough he will be begging gay venues to book him when he's washed up.

  • Homosexuality has been around since sexual reproduction's been around. I don't listen to hip hop, but there is a double standard when it comes to us, females. If I were a lesbian, it would totally be more accepted than a gay man's sexuality.

  • also i belive if every gay person intentionaly didnt buy one of those homophobic artists cd's they suffer severely, im sure thatd make them change their mind, they get some money then suddenly think they can dictate how other people act! makes me sick, people need to grow up

  • it shouldnt even matter, people are very immature, gay people have been around forever, male and female, if chris brown was gay, lil wayne, anyone, even people in gospel were gay, people shouldnt look past it, but accept it! its life, there is nothing wrong with it, i know for myself, even if i wasnt gay, id buy their music. i believe honesty is a big problem and stereotyping is still a big problem, im only 20, but i hope by the time i die, people can open up!

  • Keep in mind Xemmy female on female is a turn on. Its a sex symbol. So in the black community female homosexuality is widely accepted compared to a man. Otherwise you are as always right.

  • @angelny51

It's a turn on to ppl who are turned on by it, or interested in it, but keep in mind, there are many str8 woman of color who fantasize, who would never admit it, about the idea of two men being together, it's no different from the reason why str8 men like to see 2 women, the difference is that hetero men r the majority who control media, so that's a misconception. that everyone wants to see 2 women together.

  • Alright Xem, definitely posting this one on the blog!

  • True, but on the other hand, I'd rather not have someone perform at such an event if they feel that way. You know? LIke, if he's still going to have the same opinion, why would we even want him to perform at a pride event? His problem, not ours.

  • Damn..he nail it on the head!!

  • homophobia still seems more prevalent in hip hop world vs regular every day man b/c it's picked apart and put on spot light due to bloggers, videos & etc.

  • this is really good video! u hit it right out of the ball park! I really dont think that some of these artists get it!hmph.. like who the fuck is WALE to say he isnt gonna perform in front of gay people??? bitch plzz

  • The song?

    At the end?

  • Definite kudos Xem..... Really Sad To See When Artists (And Successful People In General) Turn On The Very People Who Actually Support Them.... Hoping People Will Become More Mindful Of Who Their Audience Is... There's Many More Of Us In The LGBT Community Than People Realise

  • Nicki Minaj is very sexy. I read the comments tons of brothers want to "hit" that. If she were very Butch or MASC, I believe she would have problems.

  • You're so right Xem. There is so much homophobia period and it causing so much pain and sadness in the lives of young LGB people. I love you Xem and I am glad that you are speaking up against all of the discrimination - no matter where it resides. When will all the hate end in this world? Take care Xem

  • When you come back, you come BACK!!!!

  • You knocked this topic out of the park. I agree with everything that was said. I can only hope that we will see a successful mainstream black homosexual male artist in the music industry in our life time.

  • @EKingofTechRB

    bow wow and omarion????

    lol

  • @lordfubar007 LMAO, I mean artists that will fess up to it!! lol
