What's interesting to me is that illyrio mopatis was described as a whale-like figure, though here he appears very slim. Must be the same brienne syndrome...hollywood can't stand ugly or fat people, even in fantasy.

@krakistophales Originally they were going to get Ian McNeice (he played Baron Harkonnen in the Dune TV movies on Sci-Fi) to play him, but he had scheduling problems. Personally I'd have gotten Tim Curry.

Then again, it's kind of nice they aren't going with the "Bad Guys usually are ugly" thing (though they already subverted that with Cersei and Littlefinger).

@krakistophales I wouldn't say the actress playing Brienne is exactly conventional "pretty," though. She's got kind of lopsided features...and I guess makeup and maybe a wig will take care of the rest

This Jorah is strangely sexy. In the book he is dark-haired and super hairy. Very "bear-like". He also comes off very likeable, almost like a father-figure to Danerys. I'm sure that will change next season though.

on the surface it looks like he's the loyal advisor/body guard. in reality there's a twist to their relationship you will find out in season 2, which makes the whole thing creepy and gross.

@xSanSanfanx I agree... to me, he actually starts becoming a much better person in later books... it was only early on that he was doing some bad stuff (some of which hasn't been revealed yet so i won't spoil)

@xSanSanfanx Mmmh... I haven't read the books so, so far watching the show (and reading some spoilers^^) I would say Dany/Jorah, then Arya/Jon somehow... I don't know yet who Gendry is and I'm shared about Sandor/Sansa but it could work. I don't know who Brienne is yet but I can't stand Jamie/Cersei :-D I'm impatient to discover the rest of the story :)

@Elizalili We met Gendry in episodes four (I think; could have ep five) and ten. He's the blacksmith who is King Robert's bastard. I've uploaded the scene in which Arya meets Gendry, if you'd like to check it out. :)

Yeah, Brienne won't be introduced till season two, and in the books she doesn't get any scenes with Jaime till book three, but believe me, they are AWESOME together.

Haha, three cheers for Jaime/Cersei hate! They are just yucky.
