  • A T E N C I O N..!!! NO APTO PARA DIABETICOS.

  • ahogaron ese pastel! dios mio!

  • wow thats like for 2 cakes damn ladies u obviously have diabetes plus there hella slow

  • I LOVE SUGAR but that is waaaaaaay TOO MUCH SUGAR!!

  • This video was a nice demonstration in how to make the popular 3 Leches Cake. Unfortunately, I have to agree with most people in here about the quantity of milk poured in this thin layer of cake. In my opinion, only one batch of milk is needed. Overall, nice presentation :-)

  • I've eaten different Tres leches cakes before and some of them too where it does have a ton of milk but I find it more delish than those that have just a little. There is no right or wrong way

  • Y donde aprendieron a hacer esta receta???? que barbaridad demasiada leche!!!!! un trozo de ese pastel con la laguna de leche, seguro diabetes!!!!!!

  • Too much milk

  • That is waaaaaaaaaaay to much milk when u brought it out of the fridge that milk was already enough then u needed the whip cream that all its 3 milk not cake swimming in milk jajajajaj I make actual 3 leches cake and this is just way off even the milk recipe was off jajajaj this more like american version of 3 milk good try.

  • Your are mexican

  • isn't

  • my cake is abosorbing the milk and its hard

  • @SORASGIRL101 : Did you poke holes with a fork or a toothpick...? and the milk should be pored over when the cake is still hot...that is the key

  • really what a person really wants when making this cake is to take a 3 Leches cake without having the cake swim around the cake...the cake should not be wet...it should be moist with the milks but putting the excess of milks does not allow you to garnish it the correct way..which is putting a topping of merengue or whipping cream with your choice of fruit. thank u but learn it first then show how to do it! GRACIAS!

  • I really want to make this dessert but i don't have an electric whisk, do you think i can still make the cake if I just beat it really well? is there an alternative? and last question, why do we need to add the flour and cold water a little at a time (just wondering)? Thanks, I hope to hear from you two!

  • @maikayeng : You can use a hand whisk but it will take some time and you'll get good arm work-out ;)

We add the ingredients a little at a time so it mixes in well and there are no lumps formed.

    Hope that helps :)

  • estoo si es 3 leches!!!! es otro modo de aserlo!!!!!!!!

  • super recetas uau,.

  • appreciate the effort, but who in the world gave these poor girls that recipe and the way it was prepared? truly give them kudos for the valiant way they tackled something they had not a clue how to do. it looks very delicious (if very liquidy).

  • that is not a tres leche cake....there is way too much milk and it just causes the cake to turn into mush and be OVERLY sweet!

  • wooow.. thts too much sweet tooo much milk..lol

  • one question does the four eggs really grt that fluffy

  • I made this cake but I used 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk and it takes great

  • you made me woried about the fat

  • a lot of milk but it's so fucking delicious! eheheh! :)

  • omg you used to much milk

  • awesome thank you...my husbandloves cake specialy tres leches

  • i looove all that extra milk, i hate when people make it dry! its like if it was just a regular cake! if you think its too much milk then just go easy on it!

  • thats too much of the milks you only need one batch one time

  • (Josapology) this cake is mexican!!

And she put so much milk

  • Betty, I tried it and it was perfect! I didn't go with the cool whip after all and tried ur icing. FANTASTIC! Thanks! My family loved it.

  • hola lo podria hacer de nuevo pero en español?

  • pictures on your refrigerator! COOL!

  • indians making a mexican cake lol

  • i think i wouldn't be able to do this because i don't have 4 gallons of milk

  • el pirex se engrasa o no,..

  • @capulli they did it right

  • really good but wayyyyy too much milk

  • agree! way too much milk, you can add 1 can of each milk and added to the cake but if u want to do the second batch just save a lil bit of milk mix and added later, also for better taste add a lil bit of rum extrat will be even better.

  • Anuja, you look simply radiant while holding the dessert plate.

  • this recipe is very wrong, thats is not what is supposed to be a tres leches cake

    and this its not mexican....

  • @capullitodealelly Then provide your own damn recipe! Don't just hate on what other people make. Who gives a crap if it's not EXACTLY what you think it should be.

  • this recipe is very wrong, thats is not what is supposed to be a tres leches cake

  • The cake looks delicious minus the second mixture of milk and the whipped cream. Otherwise, it seems like a recipe for a heart attack to me.

  • why so much milk????

  • looks awesome n yummy tysm girls!

  • Holy COW! That's too much milk! I felt like was eating pudding!

  • i noticed that when she's poking the holes in the cake it looks really springy and tough. try beating the egg whites and the sugar until fluffy and then add the egg yolks one at a time. and the wet and dry ingridients are supposed to be added alternating. cause i tried this and the only thing that makes it good is the tres leches luquid.

  • I made this recipe and it turned out delicious!!! Although I will have to admit that I didn't put in as much milk as the recipe called for and regreted it later because it is true that the cake soaks up the milk..........so follow the exact recipe!

  • it's not mexican!

  • @josapology Yes, it is,. 110% and it matter fact the original recipe has liquor in it

  • Too much milk, I can imagine how I'll fart after eating a piece of tres leches... LOL

  • Great Value! Walmart!

  • can i use normal sponge cake? i dont have an oven and can i reduce the condensed milk to one can? : )

  • This is not a good cake recipe, the cake needs fluffiness in order to absourbe all that milk. This recipe calls for too much milk. In my opinion, this recipe is rather disgusting. It'll taste ALOT better with only one can of each milk and a waaaay different cake recipe. Me and my family eat tres leches on birthdays, it's such a delightful cake but this recipe doesnt do it.

  • I only use one can of each of the "milks".. Sometimes I like to use coconut cream, coconut essense n dessicated coconut in mine =) Tastes really good!!

  • I've only got one can of the condensed milk, so i've only got enough to pour all of the milk in the first round :(...but i realllllly want to make this asap!

Is it possible that i can just mix my 2nd batch of the cream with *just* my 2nd can of evaporated milk? You know, without my 2nd can of condensed? =/

  • @novaface : You can add some sugar to the condensed milk and it will work out just as well.

  • the amount of milks I had thought it would have been for two cakes thought but I shall try this recipe thank you

  • @mztailz : The cake soaks a lot of the milk and then the balance is for garnish at the time of serving :)

  • TOO MUCH MILK!!!! It should be enough with just one can of each of the milks, and for the whipping cream measure it with the can of the condensed milk..u can also add a tablespoon of vanilla to the milk mix or a tablespoon of liquor to give it a little bit of a great tasting kick ;)

  • @sweetpaloma : the vanilla and the liquor sounds great, thx :)

  • do you guys have day jobs or is this your fulltime job??

  • horrible

  • i viewed like 2 other videos && the ppl were mexican && you guys did it better than them...maybe because i love it very soaked in the leches!!! im really gonna try to make this itll impress my whole family we are all tres leches cake lovers!!!!!!

  • @fanyvqz1017

    That's so sweet! Thank you!

  • mmmmmm tried it and loved it

thanks so much for this awesome recipe

    im voting everyday :)

  • @93princess40

Its 2 of each but based on many viewer comments, it will be fine with one of each as well.

  • That's too MucH MiLK I reAlly SuggesT puttiNG MilK onLy Once cUz us SuPer SweeT

    :S

  • my mouth is watering....lol

  • i followed this reccipe, my tres leches was a fail.. my cake rose in the oven, but it became fairly flat. and it did not taste fluffy. instead it tasted like those bangali style phitas, like thick, and then when i added the milk it tasted like those bengali milk phitas, except worse... advice, suggestions?

  • TRES LECHES IS FROM NICARAGUA

  • This cake looks so GOOD!! Im definitly going to make it! Thanks foe the receipe!!

  • thats just too much liquid my mom makes it more traditional

  • @lilsexybroad omg they have no clue what they are doing this is a joke

  • will baking a cake from a box be too soft for this? will it fall apart with all the liquid?

  • Parece bastante bueno ...

    Gracias.

  • when i make my tres leches cake the spongy cake but i scrape the top of the cake off the milk get absorbed quicker, it tates good if you add cinnamon too :)

  • You might want to avoid breaking your eggs on a curve of a bowl. It increases the chance of eggshells getting into the whites. Try doing it on a flat surface~

    Getting hooked on your videos~

  • Is it okay to use the glass dish while baking in a cooking range? wudn't it break?

  • It the dish is oven-proof, it is Ok!

  • wow, looks great ... but doesn't it get too sweet - with all that sugar, condensed milk, etc??? can we change the proportions according to our taste? how about any substitute for egg?

thanks for sharing this video and making it look so simple ... i wish to try it someday!! :) :)

  • You can reduce all the milks in half if you find it too sweet. Flaxseed powder is a good substitute for eggs, but we have not tried it in this recipe.

  • I can't use eggs!!

Can't I use something else instead??

  • Flaxseed powder is a good substitute for eggs but we have not tried it in this recipe.

  • my stomach started rumbling durring the show :o

  • oke so i made this with a twist. I added a layer of 8oz cream cheese and one can of condesed milk whipped together then garnished with homemade caramel sauce. WELL..it turned out great. btw: i only used one set of cans and it was more than enough. It was a HIT, so different than usual recipes. The crowd was a mix of north and south indian and they all loved it. thank you ladies.

  • Awesome! It's great to experiment and come up with a HIT!

  • yummy! thank you

  • Try Putting A Small SoliD Chocolate On Top, It's Good, It came out veryy good!

  • Hey Hetal, i noticed towards the end of the video that you changed your earrings :)

  • lol Hetal's face when she's mixin the eggs and the rest of the stuff is soo funny .. you can see she's really keepin focus lol

  • @MissIrrreplaceable YOU look disgusting

  • @mrdj5150 lol they can do more than just curry ya know

  • wow! looks good! I will definitely try this!!! MUCHISSIMA GRACIAS))

  • Thank U Anita & SMTC for this simple n wonderful recipe

  • my sister makes this all the time :). I wish you could teach us how to make dulce de leche or cajeta :P

  • Thanks for this recipe! It does look very rich, but yummy. I would serve 1/3 the size of the cake slice you made though - people can always come back for seconds if they want more (and probably will!).

  • Heavenly??!! Well I guess the person who is eating this can go to heaven fast with the amount of fat in it.........

  • im not sure if i would try this recipe

  • Wow in MN where I am from we make a cake like this, poke holes in it, and instead of 3 milks we pour jello (cold but still liquid, not set) over the cake. Put in the fridge for a couple hours and serve it.

  • Uhhhh. That's wayy too sweet, isnt it? I made a tres leches cake once only with 1 can of the 3 milks and it was extremly sweet! Twice the amount must be EXTREMLY sweet!?

  • But it doesn't actually have twice the amount IN the cake. You could easily see how much of the mixture they had left over after soaking the cake. They said they only used a quarter of the second batch of the 3 milks.

  • the sound on your videos have improved. great job!!!!!great video!

  • yummy!! this is my favorite dominican dish, i heart the heights!

  • thanks finnaly somebody got it right

  • Ladies, wonder recipe and so much easier than mine but in place of the Evap. Cream I use coconut milk. Try it sometime. Buenos Suerte.

PS I also cut my cake in square before adding the liquid. It makes the absorbtion much faster.

  • Hmmm....great suggestions! Will keep it in mind and try it out! Thanks, we just love learning new tricks.

  • I saw a recipe for this type of cake on the Food Network in which coconut condensed milk can be used instead of regular condensed milk. The cans are usually the same size.

  • "The cake is holey/holy now".. LOL! Hetal, you are really funny! ^__^

  • sound is a bit off

  • Well it's obvious they were fighting while filming this video.

However, I would like to say aside from that, that it's actually at the point that it's looking very polished with proper sound and video quality.

I would say that if the quality continues, they might get offered a TV deal.

They just have to keep it up and revisit some of the popular recipes.

I would say these girls are at the right place at the right time.

They just really need to revisit the 'big' dishes.

  • i love tres leches

  • Delicious.

  • damn striaght the weighing scales lie. LOL

  • can we substitute eggs with flax seeds?

  • Since there is no butter/oil used here I guess the cake gets it "sponginess" from the eggs (almost like tiramisu) - It would be nice though if Hetal and Anuja experimented with this recipe with flax seed meal or try using a poundcake mix with just added butter/oil plus flaxseed meal - that could be a great alternative.

  • I don't think it is a mexican dessert...but it is good.

  • yes it is Mexican.

  • To argue about the origin of a dish is as futile as it is to argue about what came first the egg or the chicken. The truth is that Mexican restaurants have made it famous all around the globe, but if you look at it, it is a dessert popular in most countries of Latin-America.

  • no its not . but for you mexicans everything good its from mexico you sound like the cubans in the 80s

  • @bbbblazin2802 what the fuck you talking about, this is not mexican, this is southamerican dessert, mexican dont know shit!!!!!!!

  • The aprons are different shades of white... Don't know if you know.. just incase you guys haven't noticed.

  • haha like we care about the color of their aprons!! Don't nit pick, take some advice & enjoy their recipes instead.. really good stuff here ! =)

  • Glad you noticed. If you'd like to purchase a "ShowMeTheCurry" apron, they are available on our website either in white or natural.

  • Well I appreciate the effort that you've put into your videos and all the hard work you have done pursuing your dreams so sure I'll buy an apron.

But I can't find out where to order one.. I think I've checked the whole site.

  • Look for the 'shopping' box to the right of the website homepage. It's right under the 'kitchen store' and says

'Want to buy a SMTC Apron'

    Hope that helps!
