Please reply ASAP, which is better Sony Cyber-shot WX7 or this? this records at 30fps and the sony at 60fps. Sony also has a 16.1 MP rather than the 12.1 ? are there any other things one has that the other doesnt?  ahhh dont know what to get? :S

Also, buy a sandisk 16gb class 10, about $28 at bestbuy. Also, consider buying an extra battery off ebay for about $25+$5 chipping = $30. Make its that its a legit canon battery. You may also want a tripod, long exposure junkie. I think a silk tripod is about $25-27 at futureshop right now. Enjoy. And remember, read the manual. For the love of god read it.

@alrhazes from those two options I would go with the silver. Don't get me wrong, the red they use looks really nice, but I believe the wear and tear throughout using it the silver will hold up better and since underneath the paint is silver also it will be less noticeable. That's just my opinion :)

@shedy08 like he said thought, it doesn't happen all the time, daylight or strong light it wouldn't be a problem, and even when using the flash, it doesn't happen all of the time. Actually, it hasn't happen to me yet, but worth noting as something to look out for. This camera performs so well in low light situations, i tend to not use flash whenever possible(i turn it off by default) which is working well for me.

@bms1602 How are lower light photos? I heard they're good with this camera. My current Samsung kind of sucks with low light so I'm looking for a new one. Here in Canada, I land up taking a lot of indoor shots during the winter months and need something that doesn't make the subject bright white with everything around them black even in a room with all the lights on!

there is an option called lowlight shots or some which is exclusively crafted for low light snapshots :)

And to my knowledge , the snaps taken in low light with flash are really good and without flash would naturally depend upon the amount of light in your room

@smileyismaface I have the Fujifilm and I HATE it! If you record in a lower quality you're audio gets really messed up! I want to get this camera because basically EVERY vlogger uses these cameras. CTFxC and GradLife is the most noticable.

i bought one @ best buy today ($179) the red ones where made in japan, the black ones where made in china wtf ? i got the black one , the pictures look good with a pny 10 class 4g professional card ($16)... the lady told me to format the card with the camera not the computer for whatever reason.

If you would kindly explain to me, that doesn't know about this cameras recording specs. How do I know that the Sandisk Extreme Pro is not the overkill for this camera? And that the Sandisk Extreme is not enough for this camera's demands? Thank you.

@nyrick999 in the manual recommends you use a class 6 SD card or above. The Extreme Pro is a class 10 card. Some cards have a limitation on how long you can record videos up to i'm guessing how they partition the space on the card. The camera supports up to SDXC 64GB. so the combination of hardware and various quality SD card can affect writing and reading performance which in turn effect how fast or sluggish ur camera is. It's really up to u what you think is overkill for your personal use

i just got one of these tonight and i love it! i've been using a cx110 as my dedicated camera and camcorder for a few months now, and while its great, this thing takes amazing pictures and really great 1080p video. far better color saturation in indoor, outdoor and low light scenarios and it fits in my pocket way better. just takes the cake. so awesome. if you don't already own one, you should buy it.

CAN SOMEONE PLEEEEASE HELP??? For some reason I can't edit videos with my new ELPH300. I have always used Windows Live movie maker with my previous Kodak Easyshare and Conon ELPH 100. But this one makes the program so slow its almost useless unless I get a new moviemaker. Is this because its an HD?? We are so frustrated. PLEASE HELP. Any comments or advice really appreciated. :)

Just ordered one of these. Much faster than the Nikons and Samsungs in the same price range. It was a toss up between the elph 300 hs and the Sony wx9. I decided to go with the Canon,it was a tough choice though. I have a 2 year old so speed is very important to me. I have missed a lot of very special shots due to our current sloooow Nikon collpix s4000.

I have this it rocks. Auto mode produces great quality pics and it's so good to have pretty much full control over your aperture, shutter speed and ISO if you want to get creative. Slow motion video is also very cool. Plus it's like tiny.
