Honestly eq1 was just epic. You wanted a challenge you went to that shit. EQ2 was made lighter for the casual gamer and it was still more of a challenge then wow.

There are many differences between WoW and the whole EQ series, yes, Warcraft came before EQ, but uhhh yeah the original Warcraft games weren't like EQ, which came before WoW, so in a way, if there wasn't an EQ, there would be now WoW :D

If you never played EQ1 and EQ2 you can't judge, that's the same for WoW. I've played all 3 EQ1, EQ2, and WoW, and I have to say Eq1 and 2 beat WoW by a landslide there is no challenge. Graphics, gameplay, everything, EQ series > Wow

@KMC0324 You have got to be fucking kidding me. EQ was out the better part of a decade before WoW was ever released. Warcraft I-III do not count due to the fact they are strategy games not MMORPGs. Everquest MADE MMORPGS what they are today, WoW creators only learned how to dummy EQ's formats down to earn a quick buck from kids.. EQ 2 is the more recent edition to EQ1. I otherwise agree with everything you said - EQ beats WoW down any day of the week.

Everyone I know who plays WoW gets bored eventually and comes to EQ. Come play a real MMO, not some kiddy game who tells you exactly what to do, where everyone has the exact same avatar. WoW=Communism in the world of online gaming. It even has a neat little guide that tells you the fastest route for getting your quests done so you don't hurt yourself. GEEZ WoW is for babies.

Yeah the first EQ is good. It's a game that engulfed hundreds of thousands of people not a long time after it came out. I know WoW is good as well, it has a really strong and well-funded company making it and appeals to people of many different ages. But the main reason why I still play EQ and EQ2 instead of WoW is because I truly and solemny hate the graphics of WoW. Hammers as big as faces, every skinny mage looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger, this just doesn't immerse at all. EQ2 is realistic
