Skyrim PC - Workaround to get a bugged Karliah out of the water.

damn these games and their questline ending glitches. its all well and good if you happen to be on a PC. Couldn't even finish morrowind on the original xbox due to a glitch with the main questline.

Guys, I have found a much easier way to solve the glitch: use the console and type "player.placeatme 0001B07F" for Karliah, if Brynjolf is also stuck replace the ID with 0001B07D.

Indeed, I can confirm the Xbox and PS3 workaround of "herding" Karliah to the exit. However, I must add that this strategy only worked (for me) under two conditions. The FIRST being that Karliah had to be in the action of swimming. I tried many times with her standing still under the surface of the water but she would only walk farther down or not move at all. The SECOND condition being that I had to mash the Talk (A for Xbox) Button. Simply swimming into her model had no effect in my tests.

@JaggedWinter Im definitely going to try that out tomorrow. 2 out of 5 times she was in the swimming motion, ill let you know if it works.

@hellonoob111 You've probably dealt with this by now, but for others, just reload a game as the water is filling the cavern. It helped when i stood at the top of the ramp out and slowly backed up. took about 5 times reloading the same save. Her pathing is just bad. wait until the water is all the way up before you get out as if she bounces off the ramp before the water has filled the cave then she'll screw around forever.

@ParadigmProphet Sure you're spelling resurrect correctly and you've clicked on her and not her armor or something. Should say 000511a at the top of the console.

@LeilaniLad I tried all that, I eventually just herded her to the surface. Not as hard as it sounds if you stay down below her waist. Giggity.

Worked for me...i repeated the thing for the other moron (Brynjolf) that was with me (changing the ID of course) and it worked too....damn bugs.

Bethesda is really letting me down with all these bugs/glitches, fucking hell. I don't mind a few bugs but I've had bugs and glitches in almost every thieves guild quest. Thanks for the solution, dude.

great but can some1 give me a work around for ps3, unless u havnt noticed you cant make console commands with the ps3 or xbox

@TheEnglishTBagger You know, I was thinking of that. You can connect a USB keyboard to both a 360 and a PS3. Has anyone tried that to see if the ~ key brings up the console on them?

@LeilaniLad nope, doesnt work since the PS3 doesnt recognise the KB as a valid input device in games. Works to write messages, etc. but not in games.

Mods and messing around with the console are the main reason I buy Bethesda games for my PC instead of other platforms.

@LeilaniLad doesnt, those consoles are greatly against that kindof thing because of the whole deal with gamerscore and achievments

@TheEnglishTBagger look up karliah stuck underwater in google and click on the first link that says "Blindsighted (Quest)- The Elder Scrolls Wiki.

You can find th solution there if you scroll down to the "Speak to Karliah" section and read the -Glitch- section.

@LeilaniLad i put enchants on my bow but there's no glowing like on yours :o is it normal?

@pitoine03 Different enchantments have different visual effects. The Soul Trap makes the glowy glow.
