  • Well, if someone can't tell the between Catholic clergy and Orthodox clergy, I wouldn't consider them a reliable source. 1:38 in this video - clearly EOC.

And the pictures of clergy with Hitler? LOL! Not much of a history buff either. All were taken in early to mid 30s. At a time when Hitler was the envy of Europe and the hero of German people. Time Magazines Man of Year in 1938 to boot. He didn't even invade Poland to start WW2 until late 1939!

  • The true JESUS of the Bible shall "eat" you alive comes Judgement Day dude!!! When I say "eat you", I mean He shall let one of those Born Again brethren cast you into the lake of fire that never fades / extinguishes! What do you say to that foolish papists??

  • He has the Holy Spirit to guide him to the truth. You don't need to be a genious or have a piece of paper to receive the truth from the Lord. Having a docterate in something doesn't necessarly mean that person has opened his heart to god, it just proves that he has studied the book according to how someone has taught him. If his instructor was a catholic in faith, then his knowledge will be based on catholic beliefs. Which isn't always right.

  • what credentials do u have to debate with this apologist? im sure he has a docterate, what do u have? or did u become a biblical genious over night?

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • @ brothert7.....Oh, and let's keep in touch. I would appreciate a response!

  • @brothert7, your argument is a valid one, but you are not presenting anything I have not heard before. (1) Catholics "worship" Mary...check (2) Catholics "invented" doctrines such as a purgatory...check (3) Constantine "converted on his deathbed"...check. If you really want to understand Catholic theology go to my channel and click on Tim Staples and Scott Hahn. I specifically created that playlist, so I could share it with my non-Catholic brothers, such as yourself. GBU!

  • I don't think doctrine is the worth anything because in Matt 7:21 we are allowed into the kingdom of heaven based on one thing only.

    Does Jesus KNOW us.

So Jesus (not Peter) stands at the pearly gates and says 'I don't KNOW you. Get away from me you evildoer."

  • Maybe "Foxes book of Martyrs" will help to understand persecution. Most of the book is about the English so some of it is about Anglicans(king Henry VIII) persecuting protestants and Catholics. That's one of the reasons for the first American colony.

  • Right and wrong isn't the issue. All that proves is that we are talking about another 'sin and death' religion. It could just as easily be Muslim Protestant or Catholic.

Rom 8:2 "The law of the Spirit of life (Christ Jesus) has set me free from the law of sin and death.

  • If the Catholic church never split then where did protestants come from. Did God just drop them from heaven?

  • I think by splinters, he means breaks into tiny fragments. Unfortunately, God didn't just drop them from heaven. That would have been good, especially if they had ironically fallen on the corner stone! No, men like Luther and Henry Viii didn't like the doctrine of the previous 1600 years and decided to cross bits out. But it just as well for God that a thousand years are like like a day else Jesus' Advocate would have got so bored waiting for these guys to smarten up.

  • Doctrines dogmas and ideologies are dangerous. They can get people killed. Is this the teaching of the Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9 "The Government shall be on His shoulders .....and of peace there shall be no end."

  • They should learn where they came from (no it was not in the 16th century) and embrace the and/both as in the Second Letter to the Thessalonians, "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter" (2:15)

  • The ancient Churches (East & West) have icons, statues, pictures, symbols representing the divine and holy. Protestants and the thousand of eccelsial communities that fall under a more modernistic way. Their worship spaces are like banks and their theology has an either/or dialectical emphasis.

  • This dude is giving a perfect example of revisionist history. Very opinionated, nothing factual. Very great way to demonstrate anti-Catholic propaganda. Scott Hahn would eat this guy alive in seconds.

  • be specific because I can back up what I say

  • @brothert7 your church is WOVEN IN to the ctholic church study your history before the 15th century. The church was one holy catholic and apostalic church untill 1054. by trying to knock down the history of the catholic church you are only hurting your own history. By the way Rome moved its capital and emporer to constantinopal early into the history of the church. And the differences between christianity and the power of the emporer of rome(now in canstantinopal)is 1 main reason for the split

  • Have you seen Scott Hahn on the Journey Home? Check out my channel. I got him on my playlist. He's A-W-E-S-O-M-E. GBU!

  • @oshundayo John Macarthur or RC Sproul would eat Scott Hahn alive even faster ;)

  • I dont understand why do they pray to the saint, paul,(marry). I am catholic.

But actually i do not agree with the prayer to saint...

    I understand..

but There is no hand writting in bible that proof that we must do that.

the only one way is christ...

    pls help me

Im now faithless because of many Christen protestant criticism...

    I felt confuse about this...

    Sorry for my bad english

    I apologize.

  • Why would you let criticism make you faithless? The bible supports praying to the saints just as much as it does other commonly held doctrines like the Trinity. Plus the Protestants removed books from their Bible that supported prayers for the dead. Who gave them the authority to do that? There are many good videos on youtube to explain.

If you wish to see them.

  • No way about praying to Saints.

agreed-The Bible does explain the trinity even though"trinity" is not actually in text.

What book and where is prayers to the dead supported. I hear this argument alot but yet with any name of book or verse.

I did title this Protestant Catholic debate but the Protestants are not perfect either. Faith comes by hearing and hearing of the WORD of God not your denomination but I could not stand before God following some of the doctrines of Catholicism- noway

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't even realize there was that much support for it. See, I learned something too.

  • Revelation 5:8, 1 Tim. 2:14, Rom. 15:3032, Eph. 6:1820, Col. 4:3, 1 Thess. 5:25, 2 Thess. 3:1, 2 Thess. 1:11, Matt. 8:13, 15:28, 17:1518, Mark 9:1729, Luke 8:4955,

The souls and angels in heaven continue to pray for us and with us. Psalms 148

Then there is 2 Maccabees 12:38-46 , removed by Martin Luther.

And the fact that it is a apostolic tradition and has been passed down since the beginning.

  • Sorry about the links on my post. I copied and pasted to save time. It won't let me kill them. It seems to be linked to your video now. Really weird.

  • y do people bow to a statue of the pope blasphemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why did the angel Gabriel adress Mary...."Hail Mary"? (Lk 1:28) Was this messenger of God also guilty of idolatry?

  • What doctrines of paganism are found in Catholicism?

  • December 25 was a Pagan Holiday. So was Easter, and All souls day was created to counter All Hallows Eve. This is a simple answer to your question.

Are you serious that you dont think the RCC adopted pagan practices? I know a ex nu and devout RC who explained the adopting of pagan practices as trumping them. I would call it compromise.

  • So the Catholic Church converts pagan ceremonies into Christian holidays, thereby making them Christian and turning them to Christ, and you think that's bad?

  • If you dont understand why that is wrong , I would ask have you ever read the entire Bible? If so I dont know how you could think this type of compromise with paganism is ok? Do you need examples?

  • And I would say, yes many times. In fact, I read from it almost daily. We celebrate Christ's birth on December 25, and decorate a tree to make it festive. You show me one part in the Bible that would suggest that Christ will become angry with that just because it was setup around a pagan holiday in order to evangelize them.

I think Christ would say ``Hey, good thinking``

  • But you use it as a lame effort to paganise the Catholic Church. You think you can make a pagan connection and try to use that to convince others of the other unfounded ridiculous claims that people make to try and make the Church look pagan. PROTESTants protest to much me thinks.

  • Good video brotherT.

    Good points

  • Hey Brother 7, when judgment day comes be easy on us Catholics.

  • Let's play the Protest-ant proof text game!

First up 2 Peter 1:20---"Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation"

The Bible tells us not to use personal interpretation.

Next up James 2:24---"See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone"

This is the only place in the Bible where the words "faith alone" appear together. It's says clearly we are not saved by faith alone.

    Your turn,

    Peace be with you,

    Phil M

  • 1-that does not mean your Catholic interpretation is correct. In fact this verse again would condemn the private understandings of scripture interpreted by RCC.

2-Good Works accompany faith. Notice I said works not mass accompanies faith.

  • "1-that does not mean your Catholic interpretation is correct. In fact this verse again would condemn the private understandings of scripture interpreted by RCC"

No, because the Holy Catholic Church does not use private interpreatation. We have a Magisterium to interpret it for us.

Private interpretation refers to Sola Scriptura, the Protestant doctrine which says that everyone can interpret Scripture for himself. This view is unscriptural.

  • 2Peter 1:20 is saying that all scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit, read the next verse in that chapter.

In James 2:24 Its not saying that you are declared righteous by faith+works. The word "justified" means to demonstrate, and not "to declare righteouse," in that context. The verse could also read,"See how a person is DEMONSTRATED by works and not by faith alone."

Please read the context of those verses and just don't take them out of context.

  • James is speaking of Abraham's actions along with faith working through the grace of God by bringing his son to the altar? What does he say? 21-22 "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, anf thus faith was completed by the works."

also, 26 "For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead."

    Body w/o spirit=dead, faith w/o works=dead. Dead faith=heaven?!

  • Thanks for your thoughts.

I'll get back to you sometime in the future (probably not for a few weeks, since I'm going to visit some family soon).

God bless you and keep you. Have a very Happy Christmas.

    Anthony

  • Ok man be easy

  • Anytime a Protest-ant quotes from the New Testement, he is being loyal to Roman Catholicism. It is a Catholic book. Put together by the Catholic Church. The Catholic Bishops choose the 27 books from over 200 books claiming to be inspired at that time.

So for a PROTEST-er to use a Catholic Book to attack the Church that cannonized it is laughable.

May God's Grace find you and lead you to the fullness of Truth,

    Grace Bw/U,

    Phil M.

  • You're right the Bible is Catholic, its just not Roman Catholic.

Oh BTW, The Bible was put together long before 325 AD, and also the Roman Church was barley being evolved into back then, so I wouldn't say all of the bishops were Romanists.

  • Romanist?

From what school of biggotry does this word come from?

Asking you about Catholic beliefs would be like going to the KKK and asking what they know about black culture.

Biggotry is biggotry no matter what mask it wheres.

Ask yourself, What Would Jesus Say?

Would he use a word like Romanist?

Or would he inspire words like--One Holy Catholic and Apostalic Church?

May God's Grace find you and lead you to the fullness of truth,

    Grace Bw/U,

    Phil M.

  • I really dont see anything Holy about the RCC as a whole. The Compromising Church. But there may be those who trust in Jesus Blood for redemption. Ask your self what Jesus would do? Now thats laughable. Jesus would not teach that his apostle fulfiled scriptures written about Him.

If you want to keep telling yourself that the RCC doctrines are pure then ok.

  • The word "Romanist," doesn't mean I'm a Roman Catholic, it means that I don't feel like writing out "Roman Catholic." I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I just say "Romanist" because it takes up less space than "Roman Catholic."

Would Jesus say Romanist? Maybe, maybe not.

Would Jesus say "One Holy Catholic and Apostalic Church?"

Pobably not, unless He was refering to the Bride of Christ, or the real Catholic Church.

  • Exactly right! The very book that the RCC compiled condemns the RCC doctrine.

Its not laughable to me that people are so easily lead into a false doctrine.
