ok, I understand that this show did not necessarily portray those players in the best lime light but come on. we all know that some of these athletes do way mor F up ish n get better treatment than us regular ppl. nonetheless, this show was fiction and like all great show there's always a bit of controversies...my suggestion is that they shuld have aired more seasons of that show on other channel and still produce it or sumlike that but anyways, im waiting 4 the next great football show
the main story, at least from what i remember, is about a former star running back that is washed up, so the team drafts another back to replace him. the new running back is very talented but starts to screw up his career by smoking crack (i believe so, or was he snorting heroin? cant remember) anyway there are other side stories too, but i believe that was the MAIN story. it was seriously a great show, it randomly crossed my mind today. im sure u can find the episodes somewhere online.
wow..kinda gay how this show was cancelled n all. its like school..the principals [GM of the league] doesnt really know whats going on. i mean this show was meant for the players and how they really act after football. and as for my analogy. the players [students] kno all the gossip and kno all the shit.
This was definately one of the best sports shows of all time!!! Why did the NFL cancel it? What happened to freedom of expression? DAMN TAGLIABUE AND THE NFL!!!
This was the greatest sports show on TV. Which proves that our friend sloyvenhaeven who commented right below me is one of the biggest fags on the planet.
the ending pissed me off...........i had nothing better else to do. so i sat down last night at 1:30 am, and saw all 11 episodes......
i was expecting an ending similar to Friday Night Lights (the movie), with picture scenes of some sort maybe, with captions. hell naw, that one dude hawkins scores and coach says "turn it off". what the fuck?? haha i was pissed. But i gotta admit, its dramatic as hell. 5 stars except for ending.
The ending of the show was probably the best scene of the series, it was the EPITOME of what it is to be a pro football player. All that hard work and those personal stories of struggle all came down to random luck and made it all mean nothing. That ending scene was the PERFECT end to the series, it summarized the how's entire POINT in a split second.
thank goodness i was able to buy it on dvd for $15. One of the best shows ever to hit the airways. Another good one was Over There... it was on FX about the war and was also criticized for being too realistic.
The Fuckin NFL man... they pressure ESPN to take the show off because they felt like the show was "giving the image of pro football a black eye". They should be more worried about keeping their fucking players on leashes (Pacman Jones, Tank Williams, Michael Vick, ect.), for theyre the one's giving the league a black eye, NOT a fictional show. Fuckin douchebags
No, the Phoenix team that they beat took the last spot in the playoffs with 2 TD's in the final 3 minutes of their game against New Jersey; the team was watching this happen on TV in their locker room to end the series
The TV showed how the NFL locker rooms really are, and it also proved that there is Homosexuality in the NFL and in other sports. Thats why the NFL had it tookin off the air.
I wouldn't count on HBO picking this show up (after four years the chances are kind of slim) or showing something like it. The NFL might make them pull one of their flagship shows, Inside the NFL if they did.
Really, could you imagine if HBO picked something like this up. I think ESPN would get so much hell from the NFL if they were to give up the rights to it. It could be a major court battle and probably more drama than what's actually in the show itself. But those 11 episodes were incredible, I really hate that it's not on any longer.
Like you guys, I enjoyed watching the show too. It was exaggerated of course, but it does make you think what really goes on vs. what the media reports. I wish there could have been a second season, but I think the first covered all the major controversial topics in pro sports. Not sure they could have done more.
Yeah , this show is awesome. They pulled the show because they said it was revealing too much of how the nfl is.They didnt want the public to get the wrong impression on how the nfl really is.
The TV showed how the NFL locker rooms really are, and it also proved that there is Homosexuality in the NFL and in other sports. Thats why the NFL had it tookin off the air.
I just bought the DVD set and I am just puzzled as to why they dont do a second season. I watched it when it was on and missed the LAST EPISODE! Hell my gf even likes it!
The last episode was good. They won the last game but missed going to the playoffs. If they had a second tseason, I wondered if Leon Taylor(I believe that was the injured running back's name) got a contract extension and if D.H. cleaned up his act?
that and the fact that it told the truth about the NFL. but the NFL wants you to believe that pac man jones got arrested for stealing cookies, not for the truth..because that would just ruin their"image"

Qué chistoso, la serie en México se vió por Fox. ESPN tuvo miedo de transmitirla fuera de EEUU. Los espantó Tagliabue.
