  • antonio looks so beautiful in this movie, serious my heart exploded

  • I have very found memories of this novel; it was one of the most profound and poignant reads of high school for me. I loved giving a book report on it. Back when Vampires were just homo-erotic, not sparkly gay. What an excellent film adaptation.

  • This is the best movie ever this part was interesting to me because obviously louis is more in reality then any of them

  • The most erotic scene in the best vampire movie ever. Good choice.

  • in the book, armand had lestat in prison when louis came to see him

  • still not as gay as twilight

  • @MACAHETTO AAAARRRG...below every vampire video I read something about Twilight...Interview with a vampire is the past...Twilight vampires are the vampires of today...Get over it..!

  • @EGirlism I'm also getting tired of the idiotic, immature comments from these illiterate morons. Rice and Meyer both wrote their vampires the way they wanted. Take'm or leave'm, I think both authors should be respected for expanding, in their own ways, the vampire mythos.

  • @japanimefan02 ok I like this film but I also like Twilight...because it is about so much more then just being a vampire killing human beings..both are different and great ..I just can't see those anti-twilight comments no more!

  • oh gawd, "as much as your invitation might appeal to me..." and that little cocking of the head and ugh it's just too much @_@

  • God, Louis was annoying.

  • Armand wasn't described like this in the book. I hope they did more reading :(

  • @minimomster The film makers decided to give Armand a different look because they thought it would be hard to find a young teen who CAN act. Claudia is not the same age in the book either; she is only six and Dunts was 12 when he played her, but the 6 years old weren't as good as her. Is to put acting hability before looks, and I think they made the right choice.

  • And the yaoi fangirls screamed when their tantalizing man moment was taken away from them. *faints in sadness*

  • You guys are so stupid there was nothing gay about this scene.

In the ancient days men showed love to each other. They are human.

    Grow up

  • @dirtybunny987 You clearly have never read any of the Vampire Chronicles books. It's pretty damn obvious that everyone is gay for each other, and Anne Rice even confirmed that everyone was bi.

  • @dirtybunny987 what pairing addict said. in the novels, Maurius embraced Lestat because he lusted after his "beauty." Lestat is shamelesly Bisexual, preferring young men, and calls Louis his lover. he embraced Claudia to keep Louis with him. Armand was practically a male prostitute who died cuz he caught the eye of the wrong guy, and was embraced because his sire loved him. he plotted Claudia's death so that he could be together with Louis. Sorry, they are gay

  • they're just real vampires who don't Sparkle like Edward Cullen! REAL VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE!

  • @Nejidabest Ehehe I admit i havent read the books although Ive been meaning to get to them because i do own them.

Well thanks for sharing that imformation that was very informative and thanks for not being a jerk about it like pairingaddict :)

I think that made me want to read the book more now.

  • OMG, do people still question Anne Rice vampire's sexuallities? LOL I wonder if the doubters would be able to maintain their possitions after readind TOTBT and The Vampire Armand XD.

  • Did they even care to read Armand's description in the book!?

  • Wow no kiss?

  • watching....Watching...WATCHING (づO ³O)づ...*hits 1:52* FUCK!!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • DUDE.

  • hubba hubba hubba huuuubbbaaaa

  • Gays! XD

  • I saw on HollyWood his castle

  • Dracula really did exist

  • sooooooo hot scene... xD they should have kissed TwT

  • I always thought the ending with Louis and Armand was so sad... how Louis hardened, and lost a great deal of what Armand prized him for previously. But... in the scheme of things, it was a brilliant ploy for Anne Rice to do. For a vampire like Louis, there IS no happiness in immortality. You live in hell, and you live in death.

  • I wanted that kiss between them to happen..

  • why the fuck would a "seeker" a "feeler" want to kiss an empty shell?

  • This was almost as gay as Twilight.

  • @Zsazsa96 gasp! That's Antonio banderas! Love himxxx

  • I know Armand doesn't LOOK right but I think Antonio portrayed him wonderfully. It's not like he could reverse time and become seventeen to do the movie.

  • Is it me or does Armand look like Peter Steele?

  • Also if youve read the books you would know what they feel isnt exactly what a living person feels to beging with. There perception of everything is different simular but different.

  • Much better than the "current sucky twilight" vampires.

  • Oh Louis Is Such A Tease haha :-)

  • @opticannon Very well said, you put it in the right terms, where others here see it as a kiss and make up deal, or some kind of forbidden

romantic lust, what you said was well placed. But they are not right in the sense that he was to attend this "rapine sense" through something intimate like a kiss, not here. Maybe in some badly placed movie today you'd see it, but it does not fit the tone, and it wouldn't be proper anyways.

  • Though I understand you completely-I'm forgetting their immortal predatory "evil" so to speak - many deep urges here, but all related to the macabre image of the flames & the fact they both lost much dear to them...where Armand had forsaken the others, (he was without a care for that, seeing as how evil he was; they were "expendable", it would be a overlooked as a somber memory, but a replaceable one) Louis truly lost who he really loved. God is partly the universal propensity for complexity.

  • Complexity requires harmony, otherwise it invites self destruction. Skip to an all-inclusive one loses everything that happened. You outlined the essence of it well, much better than being so complacent and misjudging to think it was based on a simple kiss-especially if you watch the next scene, how he roamed & always saw her face in every statue he'd see. That's what I was getting at, and you absolutely have the final word on this scene; but this one seamlessly blends in with the next.

  • He may have been picking up his aura and spirit this close; being alive for as long as they have in their prolonged youth grants them a perception unknown to mortals. I am surprised and disconcerted that most of you, if not all don't understand, or are making points that really do not go with the tone, truth, and motion of this scene. My old friend looked exactly like Armand and I had to explain it to him too 10 years ago haha...but he eventually agreed.

  • @EarthenAncient no, they are right. you say primal sexual urge? they feel these things most intensely because they are what they are. predatory creatures that devour in a rapine sense. this close proximity was so very intimate that it appealed to him, the pain, the misery, him wanting louis that intensely, that thing that made him feel alive... both. so, precious this moment that he wanted to drink it from his eyes...to tare his throat. armand lowers his gaze for if they met eye to eye, death.

  • You people just don't get it..none of this is based on any feelings most of you understand, which is a very base and primal sexual connotation, of which this has nothing to do with. He was this close to him because he knew he would not see him again, he knew they would be around forever. You people do not get the truth encapsulated in this scene. It is a dire hate somewhat, but a respectful one. You just have to love how Armand fades into the background at 2:17, haunting. Decipher more properly.

  • @EarthenAncient I agree with everything you have just said, he knew what Armand did, he knew his motivations, he see's the truth of him, he wants Louis, so that he can feed from the humanity that still remains within him, very selfish motives, i too enjoy the part when he leaves him, and you see him standing alone, a very powerfull scene

  • That...was so...close!

  • haha Armand had a crush on Louis only to be turned on...then off in 2 seconds.

  • i love this book1 i was kinda dissapointed in the movie for not sticking to the story mor ebut the leads are all really hot

i think they did that on purpose lol

  • Armand is stupid!

  • Comment removed

  • That part of the Book when Armand Begs Luis to stay otherwise he would die, was very moving in my opinion, all of the sudden the Oldest and toughest of the Vampires (yet) turned in to a abandoned child. this was a short version Neil had to make because of film limitations but I think Antonio made a good roll none the less. but then again the Armand of Anne is Different than the Armand of Neil; the both are unique and excelent in their versions.

  • God that is so a moment where they should have kissed. So close.

  • @Amari1028 This is nto even int he bookReadi i. Things are completley diffrent. Armand didn`t save Louis from the dawn, he didn`t leave in Paris, they wen together to ... read the book :) Sorry if you already did it. Believe me, the books is 1000 time better than the movie!

  • *_* That was so hot!

  • Antonio turned to Peter Steele.

  • damn, those lips were an inch apart

  • @Shofrah more like a centimeter maybe two but still so close.

  • Antonio Banderas did convice me as a vampire in this movie...he's stunningly gorgeous here.

  • Oh my. I love this clip. Sooo much UST.

  • hothothothothothothothothotohtohot

  • jaja neil jordan jajaja perdon

  • antonio banderas como armand? o fuck

nada que ver con el niño de 16 años con la cara de angel de botticelli, raptado por turcos

la cagaste ahy lars von trier

  • Alas, Armand demonizes Lestat so much that they don't really have a chance in canon...Lestat and Louis, that is. But Armand and Louis, they are together for a while...

Antonio Banderas is good...but Armand in the books, a beautiful teenager with long red hair, so enchanting and old and wise...ahh, he is fascinating!

  • @theultimateotaku in the books lestat does the exact same thing....but louis actually chills with armand for awhile...

  • What did Armand mean when he said: ´Louis...who has died?´ at 1:59, or am I misunderstanding the sentence?

  • @EveyGrey He said "I will die".

  • @Mikijpele And what does he mean by that?

  • @EveyGrey you know how old people(in general) have problems adapting to new technology? He is in the same position(just 10 times worse). Due to his immortality he does not (like normal people) grow up in a new society every new generation, he needs a teacher to tell him how every new society operates (he explained that dilemma earlier in the movie:"the world around us changes, we do not"). This is what he need Luis for.

  • Louis lost every thing after Claudia's death, she was his companion, daughter and lover, when she died lots of things inside him died as well, the book is more detailed, you can feel every thing Louis ever felt about almost every thing, I cried so much harder when she died when I was reading the book more than when I was seeing the movie, my opinion this is the best movie I've ever seen about vampire although I'm a twilight fan, but this definitely and incredibly much better

  • @egyptiangirl885 fuck twilight those pussys. lestat would just think and they would all fry.....

  • @scirbyscore man, I just saying that. No need to be offensive. Buy , I have to agree with that screw that twilight crap :P :P

  • @egyptiangirl885 o i didnt mean to sound so offended. i just dont like twilight......sry about that...

  • Antonio Banderas was incredible in this. The one scene which stands out in the entire film was his line "The world changes...we do not? Therein lies the irony that finally kills us". The way he runs his hand through the candle's flame when he says that, is one of the most truthful, stylish things I've ever seen in a film. A very good actor.

  • Even though armand doent look like armand in the book, but antonio bandares has done a pretty good job in portraying this character(this broken heart vampire).

  • The best Vampire mythology related film/novel ever since Bram Stoker's 1930s/40s Dracula! Brad Pitt, in my opinion, did a poor but average job portraying Louis. And although Antonio banderas did not fit a 17 year old description from Armand in the book--he was magnificent! He captured Armands boldness, sorrow, and personality. He even looked illustrious make-up'd/costumed as a Vampire..he captured the look perfectly! Praise him! Praise the film and novel!

  • kiss him god damned

  • My favorite scene for sure

  • Armand <3 :)

  • Louis reminds me of a lion with that mane of hair. A beautiful, wonderfully amazing lion.

  • @xsimplyrue I agree, though I must admit, I do wished they were more true to the book and made Louis a raven head and Armand a curly auburn/redhead, I will confess I do like Armand's depiction in this one. When he is performing, he sort of makes me think of how an elf would be if it were a vampire. LOL Can you imagine? An ELVEN vampire??^_^

  • @Jakegothicsnake I did miss Armand's curly red hair, but I was just blown away by Mr. Bandaras to the point that none of it matters. lol Omg, I know what you mean. He reminded me of some dark elf from LOTR. Imma a nerd, so I get these thoughts regularly.

  • so wat ever happen to armand he had very short role??

  • @janevolturi100 Armand makes a few more appearances in the book series, "The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, there's even a whole novel devoted to him which is the sixth book i Believe? The Vampire Armand.

  • @Dank951

It was the 6th indeed. It goes (Interview,Lestat,Queen,Tale,Memnoch,Armand,Merrick, blood and gold,Blackwood farm,Blood canticle)

  • I feel anger from Louis rather than them being intimate. I understand how people can get the idea of them being lovers, from how Louis is so very close in Armand's space but, I think it's to enhance the anger and compassion from Louis. Louis likely wants to rip Armand apart for what he's done but still remains calm enough not to do so. On another note, I love this scene because it's the first time you can feel the full anger here, other than the scene where Louis slaughtered the vampires.

  • Sorry it's just a scene that has meant alot to me for quite some time. It speaks my wounded soul.

  • *SHITS PANTS*

  • I just love Antonio Banderos

  • i love Louis in the books and LOVED brad pitt as Louis.

  • This is not a steamy scene of two hot guys. This is a scene that bears what many of us have felt at one time or another. Wanting to learn from someone who feels nothing, but being unable to learn because of our undeniable humanity that still exists within us. And we hate it. We despise it. So we try to deny it or chase it away or wish it away. But it still remains. The inability to feel NOTHING. Even if we do achieve it at some point in our lives, we inevidlebly crave it again.

  • @423lisamarie um.... and yeah be that as it may its a steamy scene between two hot guys.

  • .. .. These two are failed inn the movie.. .. Especially what they look like. But, just my opinion. Where's the young boy in this Armand?

  • @Katanankantaja DISAGREE LIKE SHIT

  • @Katanankantaja No one was willing to play Armand, Neil Jordan (director of Interview with the Vampire) and David Geffen (producer) had to cast Antonio banderas at last minute because the film was set to go into production with no set backs and they couldn't afford to delete the character from the script because Anne was against it. She was also against the whole cast but was pleased with the finished film and apologized to the whole cast after.

  • That is the joy of reading the book... then you know that Louis did accept to follow Armand and it is actually Armand that left him! :D YOU GO ARMAND!

  • it's about feeling bad! Armand wants to feel Louie's pain. It's better than feeling nothing. I love this movie. Especially the 64 mustang at the end, and Lestat's return.

  • louis if u wont kiss him i will

  • i remember watching this in the theater in '94 in a small town and at this part is was like someone shot the pope or something the whole theater got resltless. And then finally when it didn't happen there was a huge universal sigh of relief. Homophobes.

  • lol 1 dislike

  • love this movie everytime i watch it i yell at the TV "come on come on come on kiss him" even tho i know it will never happen i still hope :) wishful thinking i guess

  • are they gay in the movie?

  • @TenshiTamagoKidd15 No. Anne Rice's vampires have no sexual desires. They only lust for blood and closeness with no regard for gender.

  • @guitarobsessed85 i know but in the book he is a pubescent boy look it up if u dont beleive me

  • @TenshiTamagoKidd15 I've read and own all of the books. He is not pre-pubescent. He is going through puberty when he is changed. The book doesn't specify his age but describes a 15/16 year old. Marius has Armand go out to experience his sexual desires before becoming a vampire because once he becomes a vampire he will not be able to.

  • @guitarobsessed85

    It's called platonic love ;)

  • KISS HIM, DAMN YOU LOUIS KISS HIM, SO CLOSE!!!! ..NO! NO DO-NOT TURN AWAY...AFFFGG!!!oh damn it ..this is too much for me.I love it.:D

  • Omfg I don't wanna watch the fuckin trailer on Youtube! I wanna c the REAL FULL MOVIE damn it!

  • Everytime i see this i think : 'Even as vampire Antonio is still hot! and a bit gay...'

  • Is Antonio gay

  • I can't help but wonder how many times they started laughing while shooting this scene before they got it right XD

And like so many others I'd like to see them kiss :'<

  • If you read the books, you know that Armand actually looks young and childish, and has auburn hair...

The movies really weren't that great with the characters appearances, but...

Louis x Armand is okay, but I prefer Armand x Daniel :]

  • KISS HIM NOW!!!! FUCK!!

  • @herewithoutyou3 I KNOW I WANTED TO MASH THEIR HEADS TOGETHER! >o<

  • @herewithoutyou3 Freaky. That's exactly what I thought.

  • @herewithoutyou3

hahhhaaaah I always thought the same while watching this scene xD

even when it seems to me that I'm a Marius/Armand shipper

  • @herewithoutyou3 Yeah right in your dreams, Louis' not a faggot! That stupid bitch boy Armand killed Claudia, wish I could cut off his fucking head off. Ewww, disgusting.

  • @Zsazsa96

uh Actuly there All bi sexurail that why Lestate chose Louis he was Fearless an beautiful I Think Lestate said himself at some Point or Ann rice the Person who wrote the book The Movie is based on did.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 what is armand and louis realtionship i have not read the books only watched the movie and im confused

  • @MsSupercookie123

Louis wanted to find orther Vampire cause he feel Lonley found Armand an when he Learn Arman was the oldest Live Vampire in the World he wanted to Learn the mean of Life an Arman was in Love with him Louis blame Armad cause Claudia die I Think.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 oh okay thanks!

  • @MsSupercookie123

Why the Explamation Point you Ask A Question I Answer!

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 that is wrong, that is the movie version of it. Louis wanted to find another vampire so someone could answer his never ending questions of what they are and if they are damned and evil or if the are not what are they. very basically that is why he sought out another vampire. armand is not the oldest vampire in the world, those would be " the ones who must be kept." the first vampires ever created. and the strongest ones "alive". Armand was not in love with Louis.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 he wanted him to help him ocnnect to the world of that day and age by being a mirror for the tragic nature of that age. He wanted louis to be his new distraction not his lover. they mentioned need for the other in the books but they made it so that it wasn't really based on sexual need but something much deeper. Louis does in fact blame armand but only because he could have stopped santiago from murdering claudia and did not. that is what happened in the books.

  • @Zsazsa96

    Lestat Mispell.

  • Never have i thought of these to being gay but i have never wanted a kiss in a movie like i wanted this one XD

  • Damn u Louis! Ur such a wimp! But I -3 him anyways.

  • so akward................ is this actually a movie??? this is farce, not all vampires are like that...

is the Louis guy, the taller one?, and isn't that Brad Pitt...?

  • @RinAkurei Yes that is Brad Pitt and this is "Interview with the Vampire", probably the best Vampire Movie in existence except maybe for "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with Gary Oldman. It is based on the Novel by Anne Rice which was the first book of the now famous "Vampire Chronicles". And to understand the scene you should watch the movie from the beginning.

  • @Wurzelknecht why do you say it's the best; is it the facts, or the story line?

Wait, so the author: Anne Rice - she WROTE "Vampire Chronicles"; or is "Vampire Chronicles" based off of HER novel... which is called...what...?

  • @RinAkurei I think it's probably the best based on the sum of all things that make a movie good or bad: the story, the acting, the music, the editing, the camera work and so on. If I were to give each of those aspects a grade, even if one or two of them would fare low, the sum of it all makes it the best Vamp Movie I know (except for Dracula as I said before).

The Author Anne Rice wrote the book series called "The Vampire Chronicles" which began with "Interview with the Vampire" in 1976.

  • @Wurzelknecht well, that's a matter of opinion, but i respect you - so no arguments, lol. ^.^

anyway - This "Dracula" movie. is that it's full name? i'd like to watch it on YT.

  • Comment removed

  • i was like "kiss,KISS KISS, NO DONT WALK AWAY!! >:[ it would have been so cute ^^ i going to keep watching this, i love this movie

  • At 1:51 I wanted them to kiss so much... xD

  • Best part of the movie.

  • loved this movie i thought that they should have kissed too :P

  • just wish they had made Armand look more like the character in the books (like a yong boy.) Oh well...

  • Aiiii Banderas!

  • i love antonio in this movie he's the hottest in my opinion, i would have been all up in his mouth lol scripted or not

  • @cdm0014 yeah but he doen`t look anything like Armand for just two reasons 1) Armand its 17

    2) Armand have a red hair

  • so close to kissing *sigh*....damn it!!!!

  • THIS IS NOT AMADEO, GODDAMNIT. GROWL

  • I understand that they did kiss in another take - but it was decided to use this one - WHAT A SHAME!!!

  • This is amazing.

  • Oh my GOD, he was like, HALF AN INCH from kissing Antonio Banderas!!! *cries* Why didn't you kiss him?! XD Oh well, I now have many ideas for Fanfics...XD

  • ...I thought Armand was supposed to be 12. Not 30. XD

  • @PotterWonder No. Armand was meant to be 17.That would be crazy if he was twelve! (Claudia was meant to be four!)

  • @DarkwingsDesending But even if Armand is 17, Antonio Banderas is still too old to play him. XD

Oh well. He still pwns Edward/Robert.

  • thanks for putting this up. their relationship . . . is . . . this scene - is epic.

  • So Lestat was right, after all, when he said to himself (looking at Louis running away from him in horror - actually Louis was running from himself): "Oh, Merciful Death, how dod you love your feeling of guilt." Now Louis has proved it himself to Armand. Louis loves his suffering, that is what makes him more humane, but it is no life when you are vampire and you ought to supress these feelings of guilt when you kill. Lestat kills just for "food", and he has the point.

  • @Calucifer13 Aah but Lestat never killed just for food. It's the thrill of the hunt, the intimacy of the kill and the temptation of the taste of blood he always feels even if he isn't thirsty. He himself once pointed out that death/killing always meant something for him. But yes, Louis always kind of preserved his humanity through his suffering...and Armand was yet again left alone without anyone to guide him through his eternal life.

  • I love the comments that everyone has made. Just kiss! It makes me laugh to know I am not the only person who felt that way...

  • I wonder whether they accidentally kissed or not in any of the takes of this scene...

  • My favorite scene in the movie .Erotic and sensual.......

  • @shockadelica It's actually one of my favorites too. I actually wrote a whole chapter in my book using Armand's quote, "The Terrible Dawn" as it's title. Which roughly translates into my version/meaning by, "A terrible future/tomorrow/day".. I liked that quote. =)

  • @sXpXlX thnx i havent found any yet so thought id ask 2 b sure

  • I love Antonio as Armand. I think he did perfectly.

  • Gawd itwould have been sooo hot i fthey had kissed !!

i was like please please !!

  • Where can I get these books, how many are there and where they ever made into films too and if so what are they called?

  • Oh My God Antonio is so fit in this scene and I so wanted Louis to kiss him as Armand. I dont care how depressed he was over Claudia I would have stayed with him and let him make me all better

  • Yeaah, too dang close.

  • cmon, cmon, cmon....aww...disappointment.

As much as I am still content with Antonio as Armand, though, I do think that he is not as calm and composed and up-there as the book described it. There was something about his smile in 0:21 that was juuust not as warm and embracing as it was described in the books, but generally it's good.

  • I love this scene it is my most favourite out of the whole movie. Everytime I watch it I'm like just kiss him already comemon you know you want to :)

  • Antonio IS armand. He fits it perfectly, and I could imagine noone else doing it. ESPECALLY not some young buck tween star. He knew how to do it.

    -Twilight-Shmilight. There is NO comparison.

I mourned with Louie when he talked of his heart mourning for Claudia. She was the only one who could "quicken" his spirit. And now she was dead.

  • 1:48 was too damn close lol

  • Oh fufufufu <3 so lovely.

  • fogive me for i have a lingering respect for life lol quality story.. best vampire film i seen

  • i think that Antonio is a perfect Armand. ive read all the books, and regardless of his youth Armand was always an old soul. no teenager could pull of the role for Armand the way that Antonio did.
