  • Any information on flare, pincushioning, distortion, etc with this lens? How's the image quality, sharpness, light?

    How's the lens overall?

(by the way, attaching on a bed as opposed to a hard surface kicks up a lot of dust!)

  • the way you attach ur lens is not right.

  • I just love quiet unboxing. No background music. Simple unboxing. :)

  • I'm new to photography and I want a dslr which Is under £300 and reasonably priced lenses any suggestions

  • @bammargeraskate96

For entry level DSLR you won't get a better bang for buck than a Sony, there also compatible with older Minolta Lenses. I believe the newer models are also more user friendly than the a300.

  • @threestyler thanks can u suggest another sony dslr or should i go with this one? i heard some people saying it feels cheap and plastic in your hand is that right?

  • very very nice video ! i like you camera because i got the sme one :D and i have just ordered the same lens :D

  • low price, low spec lens.

  • low price,low spec lens

  • great demo, any idea where i can get this lense for a good price?

  • @ThePhilip1988 Thanks, I believe the 18-200mm has been discontinued and replaced by the 18-250mm which sadly has a price tag of nearly double what I paid for the 18-200mm.

  • he hates reading the manual i think .. that why he throw it away hahaha

  • hi is this compatible with alpha 230?

  • @MrTambaluslus All Sony alpha mount lenses should be interchangeable accross the entire alpha range including some old Minolta lenses.

  • lmfao in the beginning when he saw the manuals he was like''wtf?hell no!''throw them awaylmfao

  • hi i have a standard 18-70 lens for my sony a350. if i buy this lens, does it come with the petal hood like yours? where did you buy it? thanks

  • all of the lenses come with a lens hood

  • yeah. it will come with the petal hood.

  • Have you had problems with wildlife shots with the speed of the focusing. Could you tell me what model camera you was using. I have been looking at the Sony Alpha 100 and the 200 I could go up a bit further money wise. I am using a the moment a Canon 50D believe it or not and a friend of mine has an older sony model just 5 mega pixels with a Lieca lens and his results in colour and clarity are better than my 50D!!. The only draw back is the 50d has 6fps and the sony has 3.5 fps.

  • The Canon 50D is an excellent camera if your having problems with the speed of focusing then it's probably down to the lens your using rather than the body itself.

I use a Sony a300 which has 3fps, the lens in this video is a good all round lens but does hunt a little bit at 200mm. The Sony 70-300mm G lens is very fast at focusing and produces excellent quality photos through the full range zoom but also costs considerably more than the lens in this video.

  • hi i think you will have fun with the A300 or the A350. i have the A350 and loving in it. but from my point of view i WOULD prefer the 50D.

At the moment i got the standard sony 18-70, a minolta 70-200mm ( which i find is very good ) and a minolta 50mm F1.7

It looks like i will be getting the SONY 18-200mm now, as its something in the range which i like to use.

Thanks for the Demo by the way

  • hey really interested in this lens. price? recommend it for someone who just needs to get closer to images but doesnt have a huge price range? cheers

  • Depends on your location for the price. I purchased this in the uk for considerably less than the retail cost during the xmas sales. If your friends budget is low the 55-200mm is probably more affordable. But if they just want closer images and not concerned for having a large range in one lens then they should look at sigma/tamron/sony 70-300mm.

  • lol like how you chuck all the insruction manuals away lol i do the same thing

  • Thanks for the video. This lens must be really nice if you don't want to carry all your heavy lens in a travel.

  • It's a great "all in one" or "vacation" lens. The results at both ends of the focal range are satisfying too, so far I'm really pleased with it.
