  • WOW..It's in the genes !!!! God Bless the Anikulapo Family and thanks for sharing !!!...Na true ooo..Pope na enjoyment,Archbishop na miliki Abi na lie !!!..awesome

  • I saw this guy live in Madison a couple of years ago. It was like seeing the reincarnation of James Brown.

  • no Seun inherited his talent of Fela!!! LOL even though Fela was inspired by James brown and other funk and jazz artists he also wanted to distinguish himself from James Brown. Watch the Fela Broadway play and listen to his interviews. He has afrobeat a unique style. i love it and funk is good too and jazz. I love how Seun's carrying the torch for Fela. Then Femi's son will do the same after he retires.

  • Just like the legend fela, the only difference is the voice... same dance steps.Keep it up seun but be more original...

  • @kayodemob though its been over two years since you made this comment ,i feel compelled to respond to it. That Seun decided to do one of his late father's songs does not mean he is not original. The song could have been done either in honour of his dad or simply by popular demand.

  • I just saw Seun & The Egypt 80 in concert last week. They were incredible! I've been a fan of Fela's music for years and never thought I would get a chance to see the Egypt 80 band live. It nearly made me cry with happiness. They did "Shuffering And Shmiling" that night. Half way through the song I had to remind myself that it was Seun I was watching and not The Black President himself!

I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Long live the MIGHTY Egypt 80!

  • I saw them in Madison about a year ago. Shit what a great show. He's the James Brown of today, but better.

  • saw him last night in washington dc and i agree wholely with you. those guys jammed for three hours without a break. heavy energy.

  • lucky you! I hope that they come back through Cali soon. I could watch them throw it down every night for the rest of my life.

  • NA YA FAULT BE DAT!!! AMEN AMEN

  • I love Seun and Femi both. Seun looks and sounds just like his father. He is a great musician. I look forward to hearing more original music from this future king of African music.

  • Fela is d real African Lion and seun is d new Lion in town,in d Dangerous Gov't Jungle,,,,,,,i miss d King Big time, Shango Olukoso Fire & Thunder human incarnate, hes not dead he lives in us all.....

  • gracias, danke, moito obrigao, merci, graciñas por existir e facerme tan feliz coa tua musica.

  • the Concert of Fiesta Sète (august 2007) was amazing (

  • Seun looks just like Fela!!! goodness!

  • Just the exact replica. That's the power of BLOOD.

  • SEUN & EGYPT 89 GIGS

    June 24 - Le Bataclan

    Paris, France

July 1st - Sound of Brazil

    New York, USA

  • like the marley boys, Seun and Femi need to do a duet. The world needs to know more about Fela and his legacy.

  • The name of the song is Suffering and Smilin'

  • This man has a lot more of fela in him

  • Fela lives! Seun and Femi, his sons are leading the Afrobeat charge. Seun is a clone of his father. It doesn't seem contrived or a mimicry of Fela. Afrobeat is in their genes. The torch has been passed on and is in good hands.

  • yeah u are so right, he's his father clone

  • holy crap, a third KUTI!

i wonder why him and Femi dont share the stage?

hopefully the KUTI'S will keep the afrobeat going for generations to come!!

  • brilliant peformance,Seun has evolved from kid/boy to man.I remember seeing him sing a couple of times in the 90's at the African shrine in Lagos before his dad came on stage

  • Afrobeat rules : it was a wonderful concert !

    Rain was welcome that night..

  • Merci !!

  • of course, it's fela's sufferin' and smilin'...

  • does anyone know the name of this song???

  • good singer

  • Great !
