no Seun inherited his talent of Fela!!! LOL even though Fela was inspired by James brown and other funk and jazz artists he also wanted to distinguish himself from James Brown. Watch the Fela Broadway play and listen to his interviews. He has afrobeat a unique style. i love it and funk is good too and jazz. I love how Seun's carrying the torch for Fela. Then Femi's son will do the same after he retires.
@kayodemob though its been over two years since you made this comment ,i feel compelled to respond to it. That Seun decided to do one of his late father's songs does not mean he is not original. The song could have been done either in honour of his dad or simply by popular demand.
I just saw Seun & The Egypt 80 in concert last week. They were incredible! I've been a fan of Fela's music for years and never thought I would get a chance to see the Egypt 80 band live. It nearly made me cry with happiness. They did "Shuffering And Shmiling" that night. Half way through the song I had to remind myself that it was Seun I was watching and not The Black President himself!
I love Seun and Femi both. Seun looks and sounds just like his father. He is a great musician. I look forward to hearing more original music from this future king of African music.
Fela is d real African Lion and seun is d new Lion in town,in d Dangerous Gov't Jungle,,,,,,,i miss d King Big time, Shango Olukoso Fire & Thunder human incarnate, hes not dead he lives in us all.....
Fela lives! Seun and Femi, his sons are leading the Afrobeat charge. Seun is a clone of his father. It doesn't seem contrived or a mimicry of Fela. Afrobeat is in their genes. The torch has been passed on and is in good hands.
brilliant peformance,Seun has evolved from kid/boy to man.I remember seeing him sing a couple of times in the 90's at the African shrine in Lagos before his dad came on stage
I love it, I love it. Thank you for sharing.

I saw this guy live in Madison a couple of years ago. It was like seeing the reincarnation of James Brown.
