well, have been a fan since the beginning (yes i am old), UB40 is nothing without Ali, but i soooooo lve them all, saw them live so many times, but have refused to see them without ali, althougj i have seen ali with the dep band. i love brian travers, he is a very very talented music, so please dont slag him off. i think there is a lot of bad feeling between them all, but i think the management is to blame for it, rather than the lads !
I personally cant tell the difference in this version of red red wine and when Ali was with UB40 . Ali is and was the voice of UB40 I have been a fan for over 30 years his voice is unique and after 30 years still sends shivers down my spine he is the best singer i have ever heard and his voice I just cant describe how it makes me feel its just so unique and i love him to bits keep the great songs coming Ali . Just saw UB40 10/07/10 at Ceasars Windsor Canada without Ali Campbell in it and paid 45.00 per seat and it was the worst investment I have ever made on a concert ticket. This was a Kareoke concert, they found a lead singer look alike and that never said 1 word to the audience, the other band members were addressing the crowd. You will be incredibly dissapointed in this group now. I didnt keep up with the band and never knew they had broken up. I will now follow Ali Campbell, come to Canada!!!!

UB40 were brilliant at the Rainbow, cant wait for December. Robin and Duncan sound excellent together. I can't believe Ali now calls himself. Ali Campbells UB40 when it is him and a load of session musicians who play with other bands like Award, really original band then, what a pity, seems a tad desperate. UB40 are legends. Labour Of Love 4 New Single is Amazing
sounds just like the original album version from labour of love, the only thing is that the song isnt the same without astro's toasting ( red red wine, you make me fell so fine) and no offence ali was the voice of UB40, but this band of his has nothing on UB40 and will never sound anywhere near as good, Instead of copying UB40 he should sing running free and other stuff he wrote as a solo artist!
Technically it's Niel Diamonds song regardless if UB' or Ali's singing it, although I like both Ali Campbell and UB40, can't wait to see them in november ye-ha!
