They dont have enough money for reyes who will get 90-100 mil, nor is he worth that with injury risks and he shouldnt get paid based off being elite last year for the only time in his career. Look at his stats--he allows a HR about every 12 innings, has 10.8k/9 innings, and allows barely more than 4 BB/9 innings.
No, Papelbon is better than Madson--and should be even better in the NL, but I agree, he won't help us that much--we need a clutch hitter, Papelbon won't get much opps to pitch if we're being outscored most of the time. I agree, Rollins best days are FAR behind him, let him go. I also said let Madson go 2 yrs ago.
And what have the Mets done that make them a factor or even RELEVANT to the NL East?...
