  • Your videos are very inspirational! I went from 215 lbs to 175 but I have hit a plateau. I want to finish what I started and continue on my weight loss journey. I am going to get up tomorrow and start my day with a run. Thanks Shay!

  • ok so im really pretty skinny but... im a weakling xD most of my friends are to... none of us are that fat well one of them eats really bad choices and shes really unhealthy but other than her, most of my friends are pretty skinny but weak ( we dont like most sports but some are fun)! i have an idea, at my next birthday, i will invite over a ton of my friends (actually more like 13) over for a sleepover and make us all run 5 miles i bet they would love that

  • Running is great, but if you keep it up by your 50's you will get bad knees. Not just isolated incidents is happens to most runners. Find lower impact workouts. Your body will thank you later. By the way you are an ispiration of mines.

  • I subbed the first time 2 YEARS AGO! And back then I weighed ~190. I bottomed out last week at 159lbs!! I went vegetarian and drink lots of water and never looked back.

  • i have to run the mile in school every week and i always felt discouraged because i had always got 12 minute miles before but this year i ran with my friend who got 8-9 minute miles and i ran with her and now i get 8 minute miles. so i found it easier if you run with someone so maybe you could run with mommytard or someone you would feel more motivated

  • Hey Shay just saw this video and it seems kind of ironic because for the passed few months I have been feeling very fatigued and tired so I decided just to run my track after school everyday. In the passed 3 days I have run 9 miles. I almost felt like a I should give up and quit, but this video changed my mind!! I feel great from running, a little sore, but definitely like I accomplished something. I now have decided I am going to make this my new life style and do it everyday!! Thank you Shay!

  • shay, you're making me want to get serious about running and working out. i run now a couple times a week, but sometimes i can go a whole week or more without running. i need to stop that. i have time in my schedule, i shouldn't have any more excuses. i'm running tomorrow.

    I can run longer and longer everytime, and I feel great and amazing. My boyfriend lost 18 punds and we are a better and happier family. Btw he is working out right now ;)

  • You're just about at that stage where you're putting on muscle faster than you're burning fat. Stop looking at numbers at this point and just focus on looking and feeling good, because with muscle gain you're going to start to gain weight - but not fat.

    I lost 100 pounds and have kept it off for the past four years. I can attest it feels amazing, and you look great man. Keep it up!

    Ooh, how about you follow the charliejames75 workout from the beginning? You can do one of her routines like three times a week and run the other two days in-between, then move on to episode two and so on...

  • I know exactly what your talking about. Running is amazing. It helped me loose 20 lbs to get to the 135lbs I am today. It makes you feel amazing and healthy and somehow gives you more energy afterwards.

  • Shay you should do bulking workout as well !! it burns a lot of calories too and you'd gain some muscle too !! and it's fun

  • If you're putting on muscle, you might not be losing weight, despite trimming off a lot of fat. Muscle is heavier than fat. You shouldn't really be looking at the numbers anyway, you should be focusing on how you look, and how you feel.

  • for me running is just boring... what's the point of getting from one place to another quickly? you're not even arriving somewhere when you go running, you just run back home again... but i do other sports to work out, sports that are more fun^^

  • You should be careful, Shay. It's great that you are working out and losing weight, but you still need to listen to your body. Take it easy. It's not a race. You are doing it for yourself and it really doesn't matter who you pass. You are winning anyway. Two years ago I ran like crazy for half a year every day and one day just stopped, because I always wanted to outdo myself. There is a point where you and your body are too tired to continue. Don't make the same mistake. Take it easy :) Love you

  • Hey shay I'm 14 and I haven't ever really been in good shape but now i feel like a machine, I've been working out for two years, I bench 155 lbs and weigh 157lbs and can run a mile in 6:24, I was actually gonna NOT do my stomach workout just now because im tired but YOU have really given me energy and my mind is telling my body too, so I will.   • Congratz shay but i hate running. I can play soccer hours on end but i cant run on a hard surface for more than a few miles without unbearable joint pain. By the way im 17, 5'7, 130lb.

You talk about how you have to eat better and exercise and your right I lost a lot of weight but I gained it back because I had this little health problem. I'm not fat fat but still just maybe 5 pounds. But I got this little eating disorder called binge eating were you never know when to stop eating. What kind of advice can you give to the people that have this or other eating disorders?

  • VIBRAMS Shay, get a pair of Vibrams! You will love them for excercising!! I train in vibrams and have noticed increased difficulty and more muscle involvement when performing any leg exercise. As funny as it may sound, the muscles in your toes will get stronger too!!

  • Hey shay i've been watching your videos since that day you started the shayloss probably even before that i too have been losing weight since august of last year. So far i've lost 40 pounds to date i went from 272 to 230 today feeling good and still going strong. Your videos have helped me to keep going and your an amazing role model im right there with ya i want to be down to at least 200 too. Thanks for these videos and keep it up!

  • Swim! LIke in a lap pool. It's SO good for you, and works all of your muscles but doesn't hurt your joints. (That's why I hate running.) Plus you get a tan and it's so refreshing!!!

  • Shay, be carefull for your ankle. I had a sprained ankle to, but I just played and trained (soccer) for a month. When the season ended, I had to go to the fisiotherapy and I couldn't play soccer for 6 months. So watch out, I had to go to the pool every day, that was a lovely and good excercise. :) Goodluck and don't give up!

  • I was about 250 lbs just a few months ago. I started watching what I was eating when you guys began your challenge. Then I started running every day. I've lost right at 50 lbs, so I'm about the same weight you are now. My goal is to get down to about 180-185. I ran my first 5K on Sept 24th and I placed 2nd overall. It wasn't a huge, big time race, but I was still really psyched about it. I just was sick of looking at my fat face in videos and it was time to lose some weight.

  • This was so inspirational for me! Two years ago, I ran a half-marathon, then I stopped running. I've been telling myself that I'm training for another, but I get distracted with school and work.   • My boyfriend is in Navy boot camp. He told me through all his hard work he lost a bit of weight now too. He also has abs and some good muscle strength. His exact words in his most recent letter were that he is now "sexy" lmao. So now I have to work out too so I look good as well when he returns. I can't have him looking better than me!!! Lmao XD
