I love the sound you produce on the violin....find another pianist...sounds like me playing. It is also the mic. the piano etc. that corrupt this sound further. Piano sounds like a midi file....not good at all. between 4 and 5 min. you were not making music together, it seemed you were both trying to get through it. Hey people, lets leave race out of it. I have started to learn this tongiht. Thank you for posting.

2 things:

first:There aren't asian or europaen violinists, there are only good or bad ones... anyway, I think that you play it well, there are some little mistakes (intonation) but i think that with a real piano you 'll play it better.

It is a bit harsh to say that only Europeans can play classical music, however your reply to that, oldsocrates, is even more ridiculous - you talk about ignorance when you yourself don't seem to realise that Russia *is* a European country. Oh, and that *both* Oistrakh and Perlman are Jewish. And that, for all intents and purposes, Jewish culture is perfectly compatible with, and could be assimilated to European culture.

Unfortunately, you failed to grasp my point. Longtalker arbitrarily categorized Beethoven's music as "European" when someone else could have (just as validly) classified it as "German". My point--which you missed--is that if Longtalker's criticism is legitimate, then it is also legitimate to criticize a non-German for playing German classical music.

Furthermore, I well understand which famous violinists of the past were Jewish, but once more you failed to see the entire point.

Tks for finding my efforts commendable, actually I do not mind at all you saying that you prefer Europeans playing classical music. We Chinese will say that Europeans cannot play properly Chinese music. You only need to watch a Peking opera video on U-tube to agree on that. Maybe it is just the way you put it across, that an upbringing nearer to the western culture may more likely give a better interpretation to the mainstream classical music, which I definitely agree.

Me gusta demasiado como se escucha el violin y el piano en particular en esta melodia, el inicio de la pieza esta excelente, la he escuchado mas lento el comienzo y le da mayor sentimiento. Muy bien ejecutada.

This violin is made by a student of Chen Jin-nong (1980 VSA Gold medal winner, maybe 3 years old. I have also a Chen Jin-nong, but I put it away and play this just not to wear out the good one. Nice tone? Thanks for enjoying my playing.

Did you use the Chen Jin-nong violin in any of the other videos? Which one you like more?

I do not remember which piece I played with the Chen Jin-nong. I will play my next recording with it. Of course the Chen Jin-nong is better than the student. But there are qualities with my other German violin which is better than the Chen, I played it on my Meditation.
