The average age thing comes from little kids trying to play games made for people older than there age. Most kids when registering or playing a game will choose the age 18+ just to be safe.

I know this from experience, as i always picked the oldest age possible (100 or more). I've got no problem with anyone playing games. Just saying it's kind of flawed.
