Don't know if you two remember me from your visit to VPF or not, but this is Hayes. Mike sent me the URL to this video and I was blown away. Love the song and video, keep up the fantastic work! See you back at VPF sometime.
As an Az native, and a decade long fan of Don and Deb, I have to say that this is just another song in a LONG list that speak directly to my soul. I have visited the area where this video was captured, and I must say that what we have done to these habitats is a wretched reminder of how little we have taught our children about the value of the land. This song should be required listening before anyone is allowed to leave the paved city limits of our state. Great job guys! keep it up.
Chills, chills and tears. If you think this is just a song protesting abuse of public lands, play it again a few times and listen to the lyrics and let them pull you deeper and deeper into the sands of understanding the darker side of our valiant nature.
Most people don't write well when they're pissed off, as a rule. Tend to wax a bit self indulgent. Don is a brilliant exception.
Don & Deb are perhaps my favorite songwriters on the planet, perhaps even the whole Big Sky Full of Dumb Stars.
Nice job, thanks for putting this together! Our public lands have enough pressures from development, diverted water supplies, and global warming to deal with the severe impacts that rampant ORV use and wanton shooting create.
you sang, row. row.
