Just to clarify. He is a Skytrain Attendant (STA). Their job is to be the first responder to emergency calls and such. Although they are not security per-se, they DO security related duties such as creating a deterrent / preventing problems. They are trained in train operations, medical aid and customer service. I've become acquainted with a few and they tell me that they always get into physical altercations.

Skytrain I believe has a limited "hands on" policy - An employee may defend themselves, another employee, or passenger. Which is in accordance with the Criminal Code of Canada.

Staff are strongly encouraged to disengage, call the police, and to not put themselves in harms way, for their own personal safety.

I can almost guarantee you police were called between stations, and once again when the attendant arrived.

Hats off to the Attendant and passenger for going above and beyond.
