Twelve Year Silence is one of those albums with no duds...Every song is strong in its own right and has lyrics that relate to anyone's life....Some songs I'm rocking out and some songs I'm crying like a pussy....Brings everything out
Get on iTunes pick up the Hail Mary and B-sides albums they just released - well worth it. Wish I would've gotten to see them live, every video I've seen is insanely good.
The first Dark New Day song I ever heard was "Brother" then "That's Enough" then "Pieces" just one great track after another ........just few words of advice...GET THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!
they had equally memorable melodies and hooks withOUT clint!
thats why so much of their current tour set consists of the shit they wrote when he was away!
dnd was able to take clints style and REALLY make it like something we've never heard.
clint and his brother, are just amazing together. DND was really a stellar lineup of talent, that could take clints song-writing to a whole new level...
but the band kind of split without any word as to whats happening with the album. Theres cuts of it on the internet but not actual full official albums.
very sad. I saw them in 2005 with seether and it was probably the best show ive ever been to next to slipknot lol
i thought animosity was their standout album. i rocked out to that album so much. i like their first and second as well, and seasons was really great.
well yeah they are all great albums, in my opinion though, their BEST shit, the heaviest, and most unique was when clint was gone.
i think that gave john and morgan more of a voice to let that rhythmic assault side of 7dust show.
whereas with DND, you combine clint's melodic genius with his brother's, and then throw troy into the mix, and you have a recipe for track after track of amazing songs! not to mention the pipes of brett, and the drums of my boy will!
thats true man sevendusts heavyer stuff was when clint was with DND and sonny mayo came into the picture you noticed the melodys were very little along with the harmonys
morgan and josh had more of a heavy apportch like sevendusts first album it was abstract and heavy and to be honest next, alpha and shapter 4 hope and sorrow only had a few stand out tracks unlike home anamosity and seasons where you could enjoy every song so in my opinion sevendust needs clint lowery DND was great while it went
thats the truth isnt it? so sad... however the band kinda had a style change without troy, coz their 2nd cd just wasnt like the first. so maybe its for the better... 12 year silence though... UNREAL album, one of the best of all time to me
@Aerba54 Blame Warner Bros. label, they screwed the band over, wouldnt release their new album thats been pretty much done, but now in february 2012 as recently announced, the band is finally releasing the album as well as some new bonus tracks thanks to Goomba Music. :) im excited.
It's a shame they broke up. Corey Lowery is in a new band called Violent Plan with Donnie Hambry of Doubledrive and BC Kotchmit who was in DND and Switched.
Money, Clint is back with Sevendust where he belongs, and he's never coming back. I liked this band, but I love Sevendust. DND is still around though. Check out their Myspace.
Great Band, Great Opening track to the album, buy yeah...the crowds in Chicago can be tough. I spent 12 years in Chicago at ROCKFUNKIN' ASS shows and sometimes the crowds would be chillin', like it's some lackluster bar band on stage. I think Chicagoans are sometimes spoiled, because it's a guarantee a band is coming thru. I remember many a show that a band has Chicago on the tour w/in its 1st 3 performances b4 the new record is out. Don't hate, I luv Shy-Town, but give back to the band.
i would shit myself if there was ever a tour with sevendust and dark new day on there, that would be hilarious lol, i would rather see sevendust though, and for the people who think sevendust wouldnt exist if it wasnt for clint, well i tihnk they are doin just as good, if not better without him, i still like dark new day though, so i dont wat any stupid ass negative comments thrown at me..
Awesome band... nicest guys you could meet, too. Talked to them at Piere's in Ft. Wayne IN a few years back. They took us on the bus and gave us water (?), they are all very cool. Their crew is fabulous, too... we talked to them for like 30 minutes... everyone is super nice. Good to see them do well, GREAT show. We left before Seether came on. I don't even know who the second band was... we saw them open, and left.
I was stoked to recently learn that DARK NEW DAY are finally back with a new lp titled " New
Tradition " due out on 2 / 28 / 12.

clint's style fit much better in DND
whereas, sevendust had their best, heaviest, most raw shit come out when he was gone.
dont get me wrong i love the home/animosity stuff, but its hard to top next and alpha (why do u think they still play so much 2005-2008 shit live?)
i wish theyd get sonny mayo back and get the original DND back together, life would be great then!
