super trucker in the hammer lane, love the video and the tunes, cant tell your going up a mt in the video, pretty sure that's the one between Laramie and Cheyenne, came up it one night, frozen snow pack, blowing snow just b4 they shut it down, good luck and be safe
super trucker in the hammer lane, love the video and the tunes, cant tell your going up a mtn in the video, pretty sure thats the one between larami and cheyenne, came up it one night, fozen snow pack, blowing snow just b4 they shut it down, good luck and be safe
the truck in the ditch at 1:54 is a kenworth you can tell by the shape of the sleeper and peterbilt doesn't have sleepers with windows the high up and their sleepers are shorter.
Awesome video man. Can't believe I just noticed it. You did an awesome job capturing the essence of driving in Wyoming in the winter with one exception, You left out the blizzard scene LOL. God bless you and drive safe.
Wyoming DOT Officer: "Road salt? What's that? Never heard of it. Only salt we use around these parts is salt for food. So what if there's 8 inches of packed snow on I-80? Don't worry, the sun will melt it away... in June."
I have just one question for Wyoming DOT... WHY? Why don't you use salt on your MAIN INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS? I could understand not using it on side roads (it gets expensive) and I can understand not using it around lakes and rivers for fear of killing fish, but what lakes?
Cool Video ...Ive Been On This same road in WY .They Used To Close The Road When it Got to bad. even when it's was real windy out they would close the road on I-80 Cheyenne. I used to hate the freaking white outs and the ice on the bridges ..I Drove For 22 Years. On That Long Old Road And Now I Don't have to do it any more ..I'm An Internet Guru Now Check Out My Channel To See My Truck. that I used to own with United Van Lines. I had $17,000 in just Chrome On It ..Thanks
Breaker, breaker, any takers. This heres the large car west bound 80 super trucker fadin into that settin sun, whats the 20 on all that fluffy white talk comin down this way. East bound don't throw a banana on my heading cause I need to keep the shiny side down till LA.
10-fo big truck we got your banana right back a there.
90% of the time we know already know well in advance what the weather and Highway conditions are like so can plan accordingly.
There will be the occasional freak snowstorm etc that can shut us down on the Highway, but as long as we have diesel to run the engine we'll have heating, TV, Microwave etc etc to get us through.
Personally I've never been shut down on a Highway for more than one night.
Question to truckers:.. What do yall do when you get stuck in the middle of no where in bad weather? Does someone come and pick you up? What if you can't call for help?
Hey TTT, great video and driving. I just have a question, I got in a small collision in my personal vehicle, and I'm wondering if that would affect my chances of becoming a truck driver? Thank you.
Bbrrrr..! Excellent driving there, TTT! How long does that highway go on before you hit a rest stop, or truck stop? I agree with you when you stated, "a truck driver who enjoys his/her work is already living the life". Even tho it seems like everyone is down on the truck driver, they can't beat the love of the open road outta us! :)
heya TTT. That looks kinda like Minnesota and Wisconsin the other day. It was so cold I had a hard time snatching my 5th wheel because the grease had pretty much solidified. I think it was in the neighborhood of -17F, but before I got out of the cold and back to Georgia I saw it as low as -20F in northern Indiana. The load I'm picking up in the morning is going right back north too, to the Grand Rapids area :-/
That it one truck in the ditch.I stead of bitchin about some truck driving.Look at it as away of keeping you safe going throw the snow.Once you clear do your own thing.I'ld rather see you all driving safely then seeing a family kill under your wheel.
Thanks for the reply. Ah, that's a shame they don't have a terminal in Canada. That is some serious snow my friend. We NEVER get snow like that in England. It sure is going to test my abilities when I come over and drive in it. I will keep you posted when I come out and might even get the chance to buy you a coffee. Always got time for the Ccccrrraaaaazzzzzyyyyyy trucker. :-)
When you planning on moving? Canada? or us? I'm hoping to be there by feb. Canada that is. My mate just moved their and another been there for nearly 2 years. He's loving it there
I plan on moving sometime this year, just waiting for a few things to be sorted out before I can start the ball rolling. I've already got a job offer with a Canadian company. It's too hard to get into the US if your English, I think it's easier if your a Mexican!! Cheers
Hi englishtrucker. I know US is hard to get into. A friends cousin runs a transport co in north carolina and said nigh on impossible to get visa. Tho if you get canadian visa the us visa is easier to get. Hoping to be in Canada by march. Have 2 friends out there and they love it. Say 10 times better than uk. Job and living. Good luck and may see ya out there.
I just met an English Chap that is driving for us here at Knight Refrigerated this morning, he started out on a visa married a sista from PA and moved on in, now he's truckin up with the big hammers
When I first went to CDL school, there was a guy in there from the UK. He was a truck driver there and wanted to move to the US, so he applied for a permanent resident visa. 16 years later, he got it. That's insane. But if you're a lettuce-picker who doesn't speak a word of English, they'll welcome you with open arms. That's even more insane.
I hear ya there mate. I just don't understand the US. Mind you England is the same. The government lets in all the immigrants that can't speak a word of English and gives them all this money, while we get nothing. It's a disgrace.
i cant understand that. What worse is there trucks are allowed to come in as far as they want into this country even with bad brakes, and they dont speak english so the road signs here might as well be writen in a language from another planet.
TTT your videos are awesome... always love watching. I got off the road 14 years ago, and miss it but funny thing the CB sounds exactly the same...lol Take care and be safe!!
How's it going my man? Does your company have a depot in Canada? AS you know I'm coming over and I like the look of your outfit. I like the CB chatter. What speed were you averaging out in the white stuff? Stay safe my friend and keep the rubber down on the white stuff. Peace.
Hey ET these guys don't have any terminals up there I wished they did, I didn't pay enough attention to the speed more just the feel of the ride, sped up the vid anyhow come see us
You wouldnt know of any companies that are good companies that have company paid training. I have been reading some horror stories about schneider and even worse stories about the driver training schools.
no sure don't, with everything being so tight these days I'd say companies that do their own training are close to if not in the scam category looking to make a profit anyway they can, be careful
Pay for your own schooling - you'll understand why later. Make sure the school is PTDI certified. Make a score of 95% or better. Then talk to a recruiter from Crete Carrier Corp in Lincoln, NE. They do their training of new CDL holders the right way - with the trainer in the passenger seat, not the sleeper. They also have a better pay package for new drivers than most companies. Disclaimer: I drive for Crete.
I use Power Director 7 it is a little buggy so I also have to use the Jesterware Apple TV Video Converter to convert files to 30 frames per second before editing in the Power Director program

volimcevape 2 years ago
Pull off the nearest exit or sometimes the Smokey's will open up a parking lot like Wal-Mart if there is one around.
If it's real bad they close the highway and you just park on the rd - mainly if the salt-shakers (ploughs) can't get through.
Normally we're prepared for situations like that though.
