arthurude1 is right.THAT is how you pronounce Caesar correctly.i took latin classess.my language is one of the 5 main latin languages, damn it,how am i supposed to not know?it's pronounced the same here: "Chehsar" NOT "kai-sar"
but "kai-sar" sounds nice too,it's just not correct
@DarkSignal59 no country speaks latin, and the diphthong is correct in classical latin, which the legion speaks, with the hard "c" sound, I also took latin
@deemax90 i know that no country speaks latin, what i meant by "latin country" was that my country has latin origins(don't know if that's how you say it in english but you get the point;like Italy,Spain,Portugal etc)
@deemax90 that is latin,of course it's italianized,Rome is in Italy, isn't it?the Italian peninsula is most likely where latin's origins are.just trust me on this pronunciation thing,i'm 100% sure
@DarkSignal59 well if you think italian is the same as latin you are sadly mistaken, I speak several languages including latin and italian and I can tell you italian is a world apart from latin, but a modern day language similar to latin is portuguese
@DarkSignal59 no the pronunciation is very different, in classical latin "v" is pronounced with a "w" sound,"k " doesnt exist, they use "c", "g" doesnt exist either but they still use the hard "G" sound, and the diphthong ae is pronounced as "i", and the letter "a" always produces the long "a" sound
@xRKOx4life hey man no need to get pissed..and btw..i play on hard. I was just saying that these guys are NOT the toughest people in the game, even though they are commonly thought of as, try taking down the BoS for example (without self destruct)
@teddycrap10 yes and i went to camp golf, mccarran, bitter springs, NCR embassy, every ranger station, helios one, and the hoover dam and fucking slaughtered everyone. i assume you play on easy or very easy, try killing the legion on hard or very hard you wouldn't even kill a prime legionary
@TobiasMakesNoise well im brazilian (which has the largest italian comunity in the world, larger than USA's) and i've studied 3 years in an italian school and i learned that modern latin in fact borrows all sounds from italian becouse we're not sure exactly how the romans spelled words, so the church and latin students are supposed to say "Chesar" becouse AE sounds like E in latin and C + E = Che (like cheddar).
the worlds for Caesar in italian, which is Cesare, is spelled "Chehsare"
@Wasserkaktus maybe it sounds weird to me becouse of the influences the american lenguage has on the pronunciation. like an american speaking spanish or italian will sound weird anyway. i don't know. to me it sounds like they're germans saying Kaiser.
@arthurude1 The way the Germans say "Kaiser" actually is very close to the original pronunciation that the Romans had for "Caesar": "Kaiser" and "Czar" in Russian are both cognate of "Caesar", with the German bearing even close resemblence to the original.
