  • Ship captain: MAYDAY, MAYDAY WE ARE SINKING! WE ARE SINKING!!!!!

Coastguard: "HELLO? This is the German Coastguard"

Ship captain: WERE SINKING!! WERE SINKING!!!!!!!!!!

    Coastguard: "What are you.....thinking about?"

  • I think I hope I'm never out to sea in those waves. I do not have the courage and endurance of the Lucia's sterling crew.

It is magnificently glorious watching this video . . . deadly beauty, overpowering life of the surging sea. Now landlocked as I am, these are inebriating sights and sounds.

In the 1800's when the oceans (not the internet) were all the world's highways, Walt Whitman wrote that the planet's salt waters were "Indomitable, untamed . . . . "

And so may heavy seas always be!

  • @sesanner i would like to be on board, however, I would like the crew to be there too. Because while I think I would have enjoyed it (at least for 5 min), I dont have the skill they have.

Otherwise; I agree with you completly

  • Pirates of the Caribbean!!!

  • Am I nuts or are the waves bigger than a freaking oil tanker LOL

  • omg.... so im like:"i live in belgium.... no sunshine to much rain.... the ground over here is only grass..... we live without any problems.... and we have a dirty calm sea..." well ill think twice... i really didn't knew that the north sea could be this heavy? is the north sea the heaviest and wildest or not? :o

  • holy shit !, is it possible that the ship could fall apart ?!?!

  • North sea???

  • Some storm!

  • Those are some rollers, I bet that ship was shakin'!

  • That was scary......

  • im seasick i guess xD

  • wow, that's massive

  • Time to swab the decks!

  • Dude that's CRAZY, if those waves can toss a Panamax like this, they must be 100 feet high!

  • É por isso que eu adoro terra firme, de preferência bem sequinho !

  • what a great video!

  • holy son of a sunday wow port 15

  • Мощно! Вот это волна!

  • Heavy seas you can say that again, now that is heavy indeed

  • ''Alone, all alone on a wide, wide sea''-so wrote a passenger on an old sailing ship 1807, you would feel fairly isolated in the middle of the ocean in 1807, with no way at all of contacting anyone, or getting help in an emergency...

  • holy fuck me shit!!!! that looked fake because it was so amazing! I would have shit my pants and cried like an infant if i was on that ship!

  • holy fucking shit, those waves r huge, i had no idea it could get that bad. n that looks like a big ship n its gettin tosed around

  • Modern day merchant ships are practically sealed containers which will stay afloat like a cork, unless there's some kind of breach in the hull - esp the crude carriers..

  • good video but should run longer then 55 sec.

  • där skulle man haft en eka istället å sitta å fiska

  • Comment removed

  • How come a huge ship like that can stay afloat even in a gale, but a little tiny stone sinks right to the bottom?

  • @whitetower67

    physics dude

  • @whitetower67 Displacement :)

  • @whitetower67 are you THAT stupid ?

  • would be shitting my pants...!!!!!!

  • This is EXACTLY why I will have nothing to do with a ship lol. I'm so scared of water that this video gives me goosebumps

  • @madskrillz2 helllllllll yessssss i feel the same way !!!!!

  • I've been in worse than this many a time - really LOVE a good storm at sea! 30 years Merchant navy Radio Officer, never seasick once!

  • I have more than 5 years of experience at merchant navy. Never seen anything like this. Just once seen force 9, but even force 9 cannot be compared! This is a real nightmare! Damn! It could be fatally dangerous for smaller vessels.

  • The squishies got mad :D.

  • Open ocean like that is scary shit...special breed out there...

  • heavy seas? Where ...

  • Wow, great video - very dramatic!

  • thats just wonderful and advanture

  • You know mother nature is the boss when all you can see is a wall of water and some sky.

And you know the Vikings 2000 years ago were tough, crossing these seas in rowing boats.

  • wow this makes me thankful for dry land

  • What's the big deal about this b'ys?...us Newfoundlanders swim and water ski in this weather....lol

  • damn that was an epic ocean

  • what happens at night when you can;t see these monsters??

  • Why abadon ship this is abig bulk carrier unless she breaks up she be fine.A different story when you are in a small coaster in this weather head into the sea and hope the cargo wont shift.

  • is this the hell ?

  • loaded bulkers in those conditions ... not that easy to handle and you need a damn good chiefmate calculating its stabilty

  • @schIecht

Damn right. Can only imagine how dangerous bulkers are in this sort of weather. Mind you, I bet this was a challenge for the entire crew operating in such conditions. Hats off to the men (and few women) that keep the world moving.

  • Time to break out the rubber dinghy

  • Too bad there's no King Crab in the North Sea. Would have liked to see Sig, Jonathan & the other Bering Sea crabbers hauling their pods. Crabs in the tank is money in the bank. Great material for Discovery Channel. Good luck guys

  • This ship is over 70000 ton.My old man years ago in a 150 ton coaster the Timo.24 hrs bow into the seas in this kind of weather.

  • here is not worth it to TO ME IN! lol

  • Welcome to our Dutch duckpound, where I have been fishing on a trawler for 8 yrs.

Worst weather I ever experienced was South of the Orkneys though.

  • AAAAWESOOOOME !!! those crew sound like Filipinos ,mighty brave sailors whoever they are ,shoooot ! look at those waves you only see those in movies, great video man,

  • just about the worst weather at sea on yt no claims of 90 ft waves, and other such rubbish, just a violent storm to deal with!

  • that is a lot more exciting than watching 2012 or other movies like that)

  • Most insane bad weather sea footage on YouTube! This video was short because those guys said fuck this video...I'm getting on my face and praying

  • Imagine a few days with that. I would have been genuinly scared shitless.

  • these sailors are really brave men

  • Make you feel kind of,,,,small

  • I would have shit a brick.

  • wow stunned

  • fuck!!!!

  • i'd shit my pants.

  • holy shit, thats like a Force 13 storm

  • This is the captain speaking

it's time to abandon ship, do not worry everything will be fine

  • @clifesk2 have you ever sailed before to say this? i am sure yo aren't a seaman so please speak about anything else then sea life. cheers

  • fucking hell

  • Amazing!!!

  • Amazing

  • 198 likes, 0 dislikes :)

  • how could a ship that big be tossed around so easily like that?? how strong were these currents??

  • in the port:wow what a big ship

on the sea:shit its not that big

    ....and then panic.....

    crew:we're all gonna die!!!!

  • Let's go skinny dipping!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuuuck......... that!!

  • not nice, very nasty

  • hostiiiiaaaaa!!!!

  • that is righteous....

  • THIS IS THE ULTIMATE WAVE VIDEO. CAN'T BE TOPPED!

  • @n2motocross search 'tanker in storm' - some of the waves in that are incredible, there is one point where the ship nearly pitches vertical. See for yourself!

  • @n2motocross sure it can , have a guy surfin ontop of all those waves lol

  • @PinklestheGnomie Chuck Norris did!

  • why so little...

  • Hell....I'm just looking at the video and it's got me saying prayers, hail marys, thank you budda...whatever the hell will work !!!!

  • Wow!

  • Why IS the North Sea so violent? On the map it looks relatively sheltered as compared to the open vastness of other oceans.

  • @pierstheoneandonly

Hello, I live on islands called Shetland and we are 60 degrees north and above Scotland.

On our east side we have the North Sea and on our left side is the North Atlantic. The North Sea is quite shallow compared to the North Atlantic. The problem is you get the two oceans/seas clashing and the storms can be horrendeous. On 1st january 1992 we had a storm and the wind reached 192 miles per hour.

    :)

  • holly cow!!!

  • Incrível !!! muito assustador, mesmo.

  • i would ship my pants!

  • Wouldn't it be cool if we could teleport ourselves to the real event onboard that ship back when it happened....and if it gets too rough, we could teleport back. That would be so cosmic.

  • i am ocean going master over 15 years , i have never seen such huge waves.incredible.

  • @myenilmez6469 you turkish monkey go kiss a goat

  • @Die4StudioProduction you Britishit cocksucking Greek, live and die in your rage against Turkish who preserved your culture for centuries. Now you live like Brits and the French and you call yourself Greek. You are nothing but a motherfucker who can't digest the fact that Turkish culture is older and a more ethical one than Greek culture. Eat your heart out asshole.

  • @Fussinated LOL REALLY?? Do you believe what you say? Stop dreaming please and get a life and kiss a goat.

  • @Die4StudioProduction Stop sucking Britishit cock that's enough Remember the cypress issue if it wasn't for the Brits you will be sucking Turkish dick. REMEMBER 1821 BITCH!!!!! And where were u at WW2 ? Licking Hitlers BALLS for mercy?? Kiss a goat

  • @Die4StudioProduction 7000 years ago i.e. 5000 BCE Mycenaean era which most historians does not include Greek history. You want to steal their culture as well?

    "Licking Hitlers BALLS for mercy?"

That'd be you since perhaps your grandapa is a german soldier.

Still sucking britsihit dick and liking it as it seems. Only you asshole Greeks post such a things inder a video which has nothing to do with conflicts betwen the Greek and Turks. Eat your heart out and die in ur hatred cocksucker.

  • nature rules!

  • tolle bilder , es kann wohl kaum einer nachvollziehen der er es nicht selbst erlebt hat wie es sich anfühlt

  • great

  • scary

  • real rough weather

  • I would need a new pair of britches

  • thats so amazing!!!

  • He should be going more than port 15 to head into it! Looka like the waves are coming near enough abeam! Head in - ride out!

  • @celsis01 Right... And end up going in reverse with a broken hull :P

  • WOW... one of the best.

  • height of seas must be 20 meters... cathospheric hurricane... really crAzy

  • Imagine what it must've been like to experience this on a wooden sailing ship a few centuries ago...

  • The word "intimidating" comes to mind...

  • @VideoDotGoogleDotCom Or 1000 years ago when people still made these trips

  • I just shit all up my back and in my sox's

  • literally like a scene off "perfect storm" lol great vid!!

  • just immense waves!!

  • Anybody wanna go swimming?

  • wow those waves so big

  • The North Sea could be a nasty fucker

  • Heilige Scheiße. ( which in German means literally the same as holy shit )

  • Really bad weather...

  • vuuu

  • HOLY SHIT

  • this ship not scared any waves but damn it was sick!

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

That is some real insane shit. Do you really want to sail through that crap?

Furthermore, could you Imagine being caught on one of those old wooden sailing ships in that garbage? WOW!!! Amazing. Thanks for the vid.

  • That's some rough shit right there. I've been in weather like this before, it definitely keeps you on your toes!

  • QUE JIÑE¡¡

  • Comment removed

  • amazing. i would definately do it!!! Although i would need sick pills

  • That depends, Norske... I for example was sea sick in minor rolling conditions for half a day during first day of work at an oil tanker, and then, never again. So you'd probably be sick BEFORE you got to waves like this, and then just be annoyed by the rolling of the ship :) (Some people don't get past sea sickness though, and need the pills every time, but they are rare. I've only seen 2 in my life :)

  • it just feels so apealing to be out there in the middle of nowhere and experience all this amazing force of nature knowing that the only way to survive is to keep going. thats what apeals to me. we people feel ''bigger'' than we are sometimes and experiences like this make you feel what any of us really is.

  • @LFSvidMan Aye, once you have the old sea legs, you're fine.

  • oh well jack frost didnt think i was funny but i agree this is one of the better swells on u tube... big up

  • this is the best storm footage I've ever seen!! thanks..

  • this ship just missed me this day. i was out in my kayak fishing and it came over one of these big waves and nearly tipped me out of my craft.

  • I admire those who are on board

  • Captain, may I please have a change of underwear? PLEASE!!!!

  • It's amazing how well those bulkers are built, considering the sheer weight of the cargo and the height of those swells. It looks like it would break in half over some of the bigger waves.

  • Nice clip. Reminds me of my trips on 'Panamax' size bulk carriers across the Pacific - same red deck and 7 hatches - but the waves were a bit longer there due to the deeper water. Behemoth? No, the biggest bulk carriers these days are 4 times this size....

  • what a behemoth

  • beautiful video,,,this ship is italian flag??

    ....manual rudder...

  • One of the best "rough sea" videos. The big wave in the end is mind blowing.

  • I knew the north sea was nasty, but damn!!

  • holy shit is the only words that come to my mind

  • mave.foorumi.eu

  • J E S U S C H R I S T !

  • by the way: MV Lucia Bulker, loading capacity 73807 metric tons, lenght 225m, beam 32m. just to have some size comparison...

  • 4 words

    FUCK THAT SHIT

  • 3*********

  • I wanna see a pilot vessel in there :D

  • That is a big storm indeed! North Sea is between uk, belgium, holland, germany, denmark.

  • what country is this in?

  • Incredible footage, to say the least.

  • i'm going 2 start my sailing career come february and watching this video makes me really respect the sea and the crew even more. they seem totally calm. awesome video

  • most awesome video ive ever seen bout waves

  • this is really nasty

  • Comment removed

  • you would be fine in this ship its plenty big enough!

  • That's a rough storm...good thing they're in a ship that size......
