Watched Duel with a Stranger the other night. Bloody hell! That was a real heart-wrenching episode. Great character development and insight for Tessa and Marta. One of my favourite episodes so far.

@freebrainstorms, creating female versions of male heroes is tricky noy every one of them becomes Zena The warrior princess. In this case it was a nice try but did not worked out as intended. That was all the comment was meant to mean.

@slymboha yeah i read that too somewhere. cuz like tessa's father was named after one of the zorro men and that the zorro markers were coming out with their own zorro show(the spanish one with the really interesting intro) and it caused this to be canceled. it sucks i always wanted her to find out who killed her dad. i love and miss this show

Queen Of Swords is currently being broadcast in Canada on Showcase at 6am Saturdays and Sundays.

I think it's on at 6pm on weekends too, but I can't find it on the Showcase website schedule.

This was an excellent series with superb scripts and acting from all the characters. Valentine Pelka an Englishman made a convincing spaniard. After watching the titles though the series could have been called "Queen of Pout"

I loved this show, and still miss it today. Still can't believe it only lasted one season of 22 episodes. I'm glad I got the limited edition VHS set that Fireworks Entertainment released at the end of 2001 after the show was cancelled. I don't know why they did that, but I'm glad that they did (I can watch it whenever I want!). I wonder if we'll ever see the show come to DVD one day?

I read somewhere that everything was set for a 2nd season to be made and it was only cancelled because the audience share was like 1% or 2% lower than what the producers expected, it's a shame, really.

Sadly, no. The same thing happened to me and that's how I ended up with the French dubbed version of it.

So, to EVERYONE out there: be very CAREFUL when you order the QUEEN OF SWORDS on-line, there are too many FAKE/BOOTLEG copies being sold.

The reason you can't find it on DVD is because it was only released on VHS...

...In Canada. (hence the french-dubbed version)

And it sold out instantly.

Try Amazon France, mate. I nearly fell into the pirate DVD scam, but they couldn't charge my credit card and I never got the stock. Then I found out it was a scam, so I bought a LEGITIMATE OFFICIAL box set of the series from Amazon France. Don't be deterred, because it's multi-regional and comes complete with the original English audio. The quality is superb also.

I'm up to episode 7 at the moment and like what I see.
