  • Your Video Robots Lego Mindstorms" NASA shrimp climbing at its max Is Very Useful Sharing

  • Tutorial

  • two words. freaken awesome

  • Try moving the center of gravity forward. The mass of the motor almost made it rotate backwards.

  • Bravo! That's is some really elegant engineering.

  • quite impressive! good job!

  • tutorial please :D

  • @GetRealProduction14

perhaps i can make one with belts!

  • @xyzzzach No! I love the gears, they are what make it amazing - along with what it can do of course. The gears' movement is hypnotic.

  • @1997Paranoid

    that step is the highest.

  • Fastah

  • nice one champ

  • Robo-Shrimp, invading a home near you!

    For only $19.99.

  • brilliant mind , love it

  • OMFG, you're amazing. At 0:24, I thought Mr. Shrimp would fall back on his arse, but he climbed through successfully :P

  • COOL.. you're genius..

  • simple and effective idea,

    thanks for the inspiration, mate!

  • omg that's so cool O_O

  • /watch?v=ktBna511DAc my climber creation with mindstorms, a bit more effective(your's is cool with the suspension)

  • that is so cool

  • very impressive robot! Good Job!!! tnx for share!

  • My Goodness!! Amazing!! Well done!!

  • wow cool and wow

  • Amazing!! =D

  • Do you have building instructions?

  • look at my lego guns:D

  • Try Putting the motor on the machine, then it could climb everything in the house :D

  • i like shrimpies!

  • hi, do you have pictures showing all sides plus top and bottom I would love to build this, any building instructions my email address is artomatic@me.com

  • wow!

  • where'd you get the gears? I have some, but not many D:

  • i like everytthing about it, looks alive with all that movement everywhere

  • Impressing!!!

  • is that just 1 motor

  • @JustMeHavingFun1

    yes, just one motor!

  • why is it called shrimp??

  • nice varey cool;

  • thats so awesome instructions??

  • once tried to make but with fail.

  • Can it climb down?

  • @kind18cch

    see "lego climber take 2"

  • that is cool

  • unique (:

  • Cant wait to see that take over the world.

  • it's a very very good model congratulations

  • AWESOME dude!.. i jus wish i had the patience and imagination to make sumthing like this. great work :D

  • I think I can

    I think I can

  • cool

  • Well made ;)

  • WTF???

    AWESOME!!!!

  • smart ..dats a very gud idea

  • surreptitious advertising for fotopaper

  • sei super!(100 punti)

  • good,Speed?

  • It is an amazing model! It is brilliant

  • thank you very much!

  • SO CREEPY!

    but oddly mentaly satisfying...mlol

  • афлут LAGEN uTUBE

  • wow good job, i too would like to know how this was made

  • Got my inspiration from a lego mindstorms book which had a huge one in it, the original was made by NASA.

  • very nice!

  • now that's cool.

  • Yes Instructions please!!!!!!

  • WOW COOL!!!

  • lol

  • cool

  • do u think u oculd put stearing in?

  • wicked...

  • 5* please explik the mechanisme

  • see lego climber take 2 video for more detailed pics!

  • hehe thats so cool

  • 20:0

  • haha at 0:28 I was like O SHIT!!

    great job 5 stars

  • it doesnt costs to much!!!! you can all do with it

  • wow, this is amazing!too bad those hi-tech stuff cost too much.

  • Fuck you!Its AWEOSME!!!5 star and Subscribe from me!:D

  • thanks!

    more to come...

  • make it rc

  • thats really cool!!!

  • looks like a rcx by the moter

  • man thats so cool i always wanted those things but there to expensive

  • sure can!

  • dude i a speech less proffesicanal job good for you dude

  • please please post instructions!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry, dont know leocad or whatever lego builders are using these days. But check out lego shrimp climber take two for another look!

  • holy shit thats awesome

  • well it looks a bit crazy but it has a awsome climbing rate

  • very nice job you must have worked very hard to make it, id never be able to make some thing like that 5/5

  • No one cares.

  • dude you most be retarded to make that coment!

  • that looks like some awesome photo paper!

  • Nice! Oh gosh, im thinking about going back to the LEGO time! take some of my legos to parts again and then build something cool! :D

  • awesome 5/5

try to make the "arms" longer so it can climb higher

  • I tried to make something like that... I failed miserably. =-(

  • that is so unique

  • This is really cool, it would take me a while to scrape up that many 24 tooth gears.

  • Very cool.

  • u should put the motor in the middle so it is easier to climb

  • i dont belive that it use only one motor, you're awesome!!

  • Nasty. You used RCX, since the motor was easier to well...stick around!

  • how long did that take you to build, including the brain work

  • probably about 4 days, trial and error

  • very simple but is very good work

  • that is an amazing suspension. Great job

  • Professional photo paper 30 sheets

the LEGO thing on it is awesome

  • nice btw how u make it

  • what motors are you using?

  • 8735 motor set

  • i love how you work with gears, and the things you do are so creative

  • thanks!

  • you have a lot of time on your hands then

  • Awesome :-)

  • for future reference mabye you should try chains

  • awesome. I thought it was going to tip over, haha.

  • I must say shrimps are the best functioning and looking stairclimbers. Good job and i love the compactness of it. Wonderfull absolutely wonderfull.

  • omg where do u get all those gears plz tell me the sets u got it from thx

  • ur a gear nerd!

  • one word: HOW?

  • the HOW is simple my friend. it works based on torsion and traction, when the wheels hit an obstacle they automatically move on top of it because of the traction they gain on it. then with a linked suspension like the ones on trucks and buses, the wheels level themselves on the terrain... its not that complicated, ive donde better models of this that can actually be steered

  • nice

  • nice work but you can come up with somthing way more then that

  • that is the sickest lego creation ever

  • :) why not buy lego mindstorms nxt

  • nice

  • brilliant idea..

  • cool'

  • the idea is easy but VERY cool ^^

  • AWESOME!

  • that's beautiful!!

  • At 0:25 : you should make the wheel at the back just like the wheel at the front. So the wheel at the back pushes the 'thing' up.

  • you sir... are divinci. nothing further

  • That's ridiculous. I don't paint.

    -from Iron Man!

    jk, thanks for the compliment

  • lol probably my favorite movie. i need to learn how to gear things better. im working on a project (non lego) that requires some gearing... then again its more about looking nice than actual function lol

  • ooo 30 sheets

  • haha nice job :P

  • This is from a building set called "Mindstorm" by Lego

the original design was from a company from Switzerland and last i heard NASA was interested in using it.

  • wow, very impressive! it looks like the first arm starts shuddering when the last arm is trying to climb up- is that because the gears and locking up and skipping teeth on the first gear because of the strain??

  • Its because a gear on the foward wheel swing arm was hitting an axel when it was at max travel. I have taken that axel out & it dosen't do that anymore.

  • good thought

  • hey man i like that bot!!! do you think you can take an other video of the same bot for me- i have a robotics class at my school and ive been trying to figure out how to do climb over a wall. and if you dont mind i would like to take your idea and use it in my class, but thats only if you dont mind?

  • i put another video of it up for a couple of weeks for you...hope it helps

  • damn dat awsome

  • That is pure awesomeness. How long did it take to do that?

  • about 4 days

  • wow, that's awesome, I was already happy my lego tank was able to ride over one small file but yours rides over something atleast 4 times the hight, great job

  • Great design! But I think it looks more like a sea cucumber than a shrimp while crawling.

  • It is based on a specific kind of climbing drive system know as the SHRIMP. Although I always thought tri-star wheels looked cooler, this gets a better height advantage.

It did look seriously in danger of flipping on its back at one point though.

  • Thanks for your reply. It let me learn something new again. I'm really amazed by the use of gears in your designs. I can easily stare at my LEGO parts for hours without knowing what to do.

  • wow that's cool!

  • impressive!

    xD~

  • DFGVWVBHGV FUCKING COOL!

  • Neat!!

  • that is so sweet :D

  • Nice, but I would like to see it coming down of the box.

  • coming down is cool too, may post another video

thanks everyone for all the positive feedback

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Impresionante, cool.

  • Wow!! Thats all i can say

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • it looks funny but its amazing :D

  • That is sweet.

  • thats impressive

  • do u have an instruction to make that?

  • wow many gears

  • Impressive! that's the smallest SHRIMP I've ever seen!

  • Woah, that's small for a SHRIMP. I like it better than the huge ones which use a motor for each wheel.

  • thanks, I agree the smaller the better

  • add some fount wight and it could possibly climb bigger steps

  • it made me nervous at 0.26

  • O.o 1 motor so much gear power transfer xD nowonder so slow XD

  • The worm gear straight off the motor has a 24:1 gear ratio. Great for power but yes, slow.

  • thats a really cool design that would come in handy in several missions

  • thats kool =) very kool design

  • great job
