He has great stage presence, and is a great performer with an amazing voice. It was a shame to see his confidence knocked and how it affected his performance last night, I think people forget he is only human. I hope he goes through.

Cocky so and so. He even made a jibe to the girl band that they would never win the competition. I think this guy is a cabaret singer first and formost and will never amount to anything more than that.
Judging from his first audition and everything I've seen from him since I can say that he doesn't need any tips from the judges. This guy was a superstar even before the competition.
I thought it was alright, the first part made me cringe a bit and I wish he seemed more spontaneous. To me he doesn't come across as cocky but just a bit overconfident/overcomfortable on stage :o

I really liked this, think of the huge pressure he had knowing that everyone loved his first audition. So he had to try and do something just as good. If you think about it we're all rating him against his first audition, and since it was so good it's hard for him to show that he is really good again in other performancees. So just rate him against others not his first performance.
Give him a chance, he had a choice out of 25 songs and none of them were his type. Jamie Archur was not that good but that because he didn't sing his type of song. This new shit that the x factor has done is bullshit. The group thing where they had to team up with others was bullshit and then they had a choice out of 25 songs. WHY COULDN'T THEY CHOOSE THERE OWN SONG LIKE BEFORE! X factor is really getting hard on the singers.

When Ollie did his version strait the judges (Simon) moaned he should have taken a chance, Daryl delivers an original rendition and he's called over confident. Simon just wants young and naive. Danyl is a bit older and wiser.
None of the songs they had to chose from were particularly inspiring either, holding back the years has been done to death on the X-Factor.
I totally agree! There seems to be no grey area available to step in. I think there are 3 areas in which the contestants are. Under confident = Need to start believing in yourself more and find your own voice. Over confident = You haven't won the show yet, you need to tone it down a bit. Middle area ? = Robot. I guess the rest speaks for itself.

Usually, I am very critical when watching tv auditions. But seriously, what tiny piece of his interpretation didn't convince you, that he's far better than minimum 90% of the singers singing all the songs we listen to on the radio?? He's brilliant and I don't see his big headed attitude at all?! He even seems quite unsure on the interviews.

It was really brave of Danyl to do his own rendition of the song. He was really nervous but he is a great singer. I think this new format is putting too much pressure on contestants too early on in the competition.
These guys are under a hell of a lot of pressure. You ever been that nervous? It wrecks your voice and he was sooo hyped after a great 1st audition. He has got a great tone to his voice and probably tried too hard to live up to the hype. Missed a few notes but could prove to be a fantastic artist later in the series. Not TOTALLY sure about this, but am 95% We'll see!!

I remember watching the first audition and thinking but can he sing? it was ALL perfomance this was awful but i do see some potentional if he can control his voice- remember that all the previous winners were consistantly good throughout the competition, that's why i predict jamie afro or lucie to win it.

I think Danyl has the potential to win but being a favourite so early in the competition may actually be detrimental to his chances. Look at American Idol : David Archuleta and Adam Lambert both were fore runners but ended up being runner-up at the end. I think Danyl has a lot of similarities with Lambert in the sense that they will both take risks and surprise everyone each week with something original.
Danyl is creative, versatile and not afraid to take risks. He showed us something new and deserves credit for it not negative comments. SPREAD THE LOVE.
I like Danyl, HOWEVER, I think Olly Murs is the one to watch!!!! Danyl had a good first audition, and that was luck... he can sing, but there are so many others this year that out do him.
Danyl deserves to be in the Top 24. He would have watched back on this performance, cringed and realised for himself that he was singing in the wrong key (bless him). It was not terrible but it wasn't his best. All the hype and media attention (which is outside of Danyl's control) has made him nervous and affected his performance as all eyes were upon him to live up to everyones high expectations. Hope his confidence isn't shattered. It will be a pleasure to see him in the live shows.
This guy is to good and creative for Xfacter, and if the judges dont back him all the way. They will be guilty of being just like all the other people out there. The sort of people who dont like change, or a new creative and improved spin on things. He is the best still in the competition. If he does not win, it will only be down to the lack of appreciation of taking a chance and doing things his own way, and not just standing on the shoulders and copying great artists that have come before.
Danyl, I'm sorry to say this but what you ended up doing was losing your way with the key and it sounded awful. Hard to improvise so much on stuff you havn't had long enough to learn, stick to the tune/melody cos this song has such a beautiful melody. I'm still rooting for you tho' cos you have a lovely quality to your voice and you're a brave performer. Audiences still appreciate a guy who can 'hold a tune' tho, even if it's more current to do all the flowery cliff falling stuff! Good luck

So disappointed. I was rooting for this guy, but this is pretentious, arrogant, overstylised, tuneless, and beyond cheesy. That smile he gives when at 1.43 "when somebody (pause to insert cabaret grin) hears" almost makes me impode with embarrassment for him, and a bit of emotional blackmail at the end for good measure. This guy is definitely counting his chickens before they've hatched. A bit of GENUINE humility will go a long way. Hope he learns from this disaster.

When Ollie did his version strait the judges (Simon) moaned he should have taken a chance, Daryl delivers an original rendition and he's called over confident. Simon just wants young and naive. Danyl is a bit older and wiser.
None of the songs they had to chose from were particularly inspiring either, holding back the years has been done to death on the X-Factor.

I totally agree! There seems to be no grey area available to step in. I think there are 3 areas in which the contestants are. Under confident = Need to start believing in yourself more and find your own voice. Over confident = You haven't won the show yet, you need to tone it down a bit. Middle area ? = Robot. I guess the rest speaks for itself.

Usually, I am very critical when watching tv auditions. But seriously, what tiny piece of his interpretation didn't convince you, that he's far better than minimum 90% of the singers singing all the songs we listen to on the radio?? He's brilliant and I don't see his big headed attitude at all?! He even seems quite unsure on the interviews.

It was really brave of Danyl to do his own rendition of the song. He was really nervous but he is a great singer. I think this new format is putting too much pressure on contestants too early on in the competition.

These guys are under a hell of a lot of pressure. You ever been that nervous? It wrecks your voice and he was sooo hyped after a great 1st audition. He has got a great tone to his voice and probably tried too hard to live up to the hype. Missed a few notes but could prove to be a fantastic artist later in the series. Not TOTALLY sure about this, but am 95% We'll see!!

wow that was a train wreck! I knew they had overhyped him. I remember watching the first audition and thinking but can he sing? it was ALL perfomance this was awful but i do see some potentional if he can control his voice- remember that all the previous winners were consistantly good throughout the competition, that's why i predict jamie afro or lucie to win it.

Yo Dlfunky u are on my wave length, I totally agree wiv u. That was terrible, and to be honest he wld've been better off singing the original song's arrangement. He's not a great singer and his first audition was mainly performance. He just tried to hard to be something/one he's not. Peace!

I think Danyl has the potential to win but being a favourite so early in the competition may actually be detrimental to his chances. Look at American Idol : David Archuleta and Adam Lambert both were fore runners but ended up being runner-up at the end. I think Danyl has a lot of similarities with Lambert in the sense that they will both take risks and surprise everyone each week with something original.

I like Danyl, HOWEVER, I think Olly Murs is the one to watch!!!! Danyl had a good first audition, and that was luck... he can sing, but there are so many others this year that out do him.

Danyl deserves to be in the Top 24. He would have watched back on this performance, cringed and realised for himself that he was singing in the wrong key (bless him). It was not terrible but it wasn't his best. All the hype and media attention (which is outside of Danyl's control) has made him nervous and affected his performance as all eyes were upon him to live up to everyones high expectations. Hope his confidence isn't shattered. It will be a pleasure to see him in the live shows.

This guy is to good and creative for Xfacter, and if the judges dont back him all the way. They will be guilty of being just like all the other people out there. The sort of people who dont like change, or a new creative and improved spin on things. He is the best still in the competition. If he does not win, it will only be down to the lack of appreciation of taking a chance and doing things his own way, and not just standing on the shoulders and copying great artists that have come before.

Danyl, I'm sorry to say this but what you ended up doing was losing your way with the key and it sounded awful. Hard to improvise so much on stuff you havn't had long enough to learn, stick to the tune/melody cos this song has such a beautiful melody. I'm still rooting for you tho' cos you have a lovely quality to your voice and you're a brave performer. Audiences still appreciate a guy who can 'hold a tune' tho, even if it's more current to do all the flowery cliff falling stuff! Good luck

So disappointed. I was rooting for this guy, but this is pretentious, arrogant, overstylised, tuneless, and beyond cheesy. That smile he gives when at 1.43 "when somebody (pause to insert cabaret grin) hears" almost makes me impode with embarrassment for him, and a bit of emotional blackmail at the end for good measure. This guy is definitely counting his chickens before they've hatched. A bit of GENUINE humility will go a long way. Hope he learns from this disaster.
